Andriantsimitoviaminandriana
[Andriantsimitoviaminandriandrazaka], King of Avaradrano
and Imandiavato, eldest son of King Andriamasinavalona,
King of Imerina, by his first wife, Queen
Ratompoindraoandriana. Granted Avaradrano as his fief by
his father, together with Ambohitraina, Ambatomanoina,
Ambohitsileo, Fandana, Andrarakasina, Tanjombato, Fandro,
Ambohijoky and Hiarandriana. He established his capital
at Ambohimanga. Became independent ruler of Avaradrano
and inherited the largest share of his father's kingdom
in 1710. Quarrelled with his brother King
Andrianmanotronavalonimerina, defeated his forces and
annexed Imandiavato to his own domains, making him the
most powerful ruler amongst his brothers. m.

as his fief, which he erected into the
principality of Itsimiemboholahy, establishing

Adopted by his cousin, Rahamaly. A distinguished historian and author of the journal “Bokantaratasiko”, of “A brief Account of the Great Radama II, the King of Madagascar” (1862), “Tantaran’ny Andriana” (1878), etc. Raised to the rank of 9-Honours and Officer of the Palace and renamed Rahaniraka 1829, prom to 12-Honours, and 15-Honours 1862, Principal Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs 1861-1862. Rcvd: GO of the Orders of the Royal Hawk and Radama II. He d. at Anatanarivo, 17th November 1862, having had issue:

Rcvd: GC of the Order of Radama II (Cdr 20.7.1882). m. Ravolana, daughter of H.R.H. Princess Rasoalavavolo [Razafinimanjaka]. He d. before 6th April 1927, having had issue, seven children:

Architect and painter. Private Sec to Queen Ranavalona III 1897, Officer of the Ordnance, Native Governor 1st class attached to Civil Service Buildings, Assessor of the Court of Appeal for Indigenous Affairs. Rcvd:Knt of the Orders of the Legion of Honour and Academic Palms, and Officer of the Order of Public Instruction (3.5.1914) of France. He d. 1915.

Marshal in the Army and cdr of the exped against Vangaindrano 1853, Principal Private Sec to the Queen at his death. Raised to the rank of 9-Honours and Officer of the Palace and renamed Raombana 1829, prom to Col Cdt 10-Honours 1839, to Maj-Gen 12-Honours, and FM 15-Honours. Author of “Histories” (1853). m.
