(first) Alii Kamakaimoku (m. second, Kalani-Kama-Ke'eaumoku, 1^st Alii of Kona, half-brother of her first husband - see above. m. third, Alapai-nui), daughter of Kua Nu'uanu, of Oahu, by his wife, Umi Ulaika'ahumanu. m. (second) his half-sister, Alii Kekaulike-i-Kawekiuonalini, youngest daughter of Keawe-i-Kekahiali'i-o-kamoku, 21^st Alii Aimoku of Hawaii, by his fourth wife, Kauhiokaka. m. (third) Kapaihi-a-Ahau, daughter of Ahu. m. (fourth) Alii Ahia Kalani-kumaikiekia (m. second, Kalaniopu'u-a-Kaiamamao, 6^th Alii of Kohala, 4^th Alii of Kona and 2^nd Alii of Kau. m. third, Alii Kalehunapaika of Oahu, by whom she had further issue). m.   • a) Alii Kalaniopu'u-a-Kaiamamao, 6^th Alii of Kohala, 4^th Alii of Kona and 2^nd Alii of Kau (s/o Kamakaimoku) - see below.
  • b) Alii Keawe-mauhili, Alii of Hilo (s/o Alii Kekaulike). Became joint chief of Hilo with his wife, first wife. m. (first) 'Ululani, 7^th Alii of Hilo (b. ca. 1736), former wife of The Hon. Alii Keawe-a-Heulu, Alii of Ka'awaloa, and daughter of Mokulani, 6^th Alii of Hilo, by his wife, Niau, of Maui. m. (second) Alii Ke-kiki-pa'a, former wife of H.M. Kamehameha I the Great, and younger daughter of The Hon. Alii Kame'eiamoku, Counsellor of State to King Kamehameha I the Great. He d. 1790, having had issue, three sons and two daughters:

      • (1) Alii Kuhio Kalaniana'ole, Alii of Hilo. b. at Hilo, Hawaii, 1814. m. H.H. Princess Kinoike Kekaulike, daughter of H.M. George Kaumu-alii, King of Kauai and Niihau, by his second wife, H.M. Queen Ka'apuwai Kapua'a-Moku, daughter of Alii Palikua, Alii of Koloa. He had issue, three daughters:

        • (b) H.R.H. Princess Virginia Kapo'oloku Po'omaikelani. b. at Piihonua, Hilo, Hawaii, 7^th April 1839. Governess of Hawaii Island 1880-1895. Guardian of the Royal Tombs from 15^th October 1888. Granted the title of Princess and style of Her Royal Highness, 1883. Rcvd: GC of the Orders of Kalakaua I (1890), Kapi'olani (12.2.1883) and Crown of Hawaii (12.2.1883). m. 1874, Hiram Kahanawai (b. ca. 1835; d. 7^th May 1874), a cousin of King Kalakaua I. She d. at Kalihi Valley, Oahu, 22^nd October 1895 (bur. there in the Kalakaua Crypt, Royal Mausoleum, Mauna 'Ala, Nu'uanu Valley.

Royal Sch., and Oahu Coll., Honolulu, Hawaii; St. Matthew's Episcopalian Sch. for Boys, San Mateo, California, USA; and Royal Agricultural Coll., Cirencester. Adopted by Queen Kapi'olani. Granted the title of Prince and style of His Royal Highness, 1883. Served in the Ministry of the Interior before 1893 and participated in the attempted counter coup in 1895. Imprisoned 1895-1896. Served in the British Army in the Boer War 1899-1900, Hawaiian delegate to the US Congress at Washington DC 1903-1922.   • i) H.H. Princess Kapi'olani. b. at Hilo, Hawaii, ca. 1781 (d/o Kekikipa'a). Magistrate of Ka'u and South Kona 1831-1845. m. several husbands, including her half-brother, The Hon. Naihe (d. 29^th December 1831), Chief Orator and Counsellor of State to King Kamehameha the Great and Governor of Hawaii Island 1831, son of The Hon. Alii Keawe-a-Heulu, Alii of Ka'awaloa, sometime Counsellor of State to King Kamehameha the Great, by his first wife, 'Ululani, 7^th Alii of Hilo, daughter of Mokulani, 6^th Alii of Hilo. She d.s.p. 5^th May 1841.
• c) Alii Kekua'alaimoku (s/o Ahia Kalani-kumaikiekia). m. Kane-nui-a-kalani. He had issue, a daughter:
  • i) Alii Kaliko-o-kalani. m. (first) Alii Kaleipaihala, son of Kalaniopu'u-a-Kaiamamao, 6^th Alii of Kohala, 4^th Alii of Kona and 2^nd Alii of Kau, by his wife, Kalani-Wahine-uli, eldest daughter of Heulu  - see below. m. (second) Kaleleauikaloalii, by whom she had further issue, one daughter.
• a) Alii Kaolani-alii (d/o Kapaihi-a-Ahau). m. Kanae. She had issue, a daughter.
• b) Alii Alapai-Wahine (d/o Kaolani-alii). m. The Hon. Alii Kepo-o-kalani (b. 1760), son of The Hon. Alii Kame'eiamoku, sometime Counsellor of State to King Kamehameha the Great, by his wife, Alii Kamakaeheukuli, daughter of Alii Ha'ae-a-Mahi. She had issue, two sons - see Hawaii (Kauai).

• a) Alii Kalani-wahikapa'a. m. Mulehu, former wife of Kalaniopu'u-a-Kaiamamao, 6^th Alii of Kohala, 4^th Alii of Kona and 2^nd Alii of Kau, of a Kau chiefly family. He had issue.
• b) Alii Kalola-a-Kumuko'a (d/o Kaulahoa). m. (first) H.M. King Kamehameha the Great - see below. m. (second) Alii Kekuamanoha, son of  Kekaulike Kalani-nui-Kui-Hono-i-Kamoku, 23^rd Mo'i of Maui, by his third wife and niece, Alii Na'alou, daughter of Alii Ha'ae-a-Mahi of Hawaii. m. (third) Ka'aikumoku, son of Akaka. She d.s.p.
• c) Alii Kaikilani (d/o Lauhiwa). m. Alii Manono-kau-a-kape-kulani, son of Kahekili II, 26^th Mo'i of Maui, Ranai, Molokai and Oahu. She had issue - see Hawaii (Maui).

• a) Alii Kanaina. b. ca. 1756 (s/o Kaupekamoku). m. (first) Hakau, former wife of Kalaniopu'u-a-Kaiamamao, 6^th Alii of Kohala, 4^th Alii of Kona and 2^nd Alii of Kau, and of Keohuhu, and daughter of Alii Heulu, by his third wife, Moana, daughter of Kauhi-a-Haki. m. (second) Kalani-kuka-'uala'a. He had issue, two sons and one daughter:
  • i) Alii Hao Kanaina (s/o Hakau). m. Kailipakalua, daughter of Kaukoko, by his wife, Pine. He had issue, an only daughter:
    • (1) Alii Luahine Kahailiopua. b. ca. 1790. m. (first) Alii Pauli Ka'oleioku (b. 1767; m. third, Manono, and d. at Kaumakapili, Oahu, 19^th February 1818, bur. Halo-o-Keawe, Honaunau, Kona, Hawaii), former husband of Keoua-Wahine and legitimated natural son of H.M. King Kamehameha the Great, by Kanekapolei. m. (second) Wili. She d. 18^th December 1873, having had issue, one son and one daughter by her first husband, and three sons by her second husband.
  • ii) Alii Ki'ilaweau (s/o Kalani-kuka-'uala'a). m. (first) Kalimakuhi. m. (second) Kaho-o-waha. He had issue:
    • (1) Alii Kanihomauole (c/o Kalimakuhi). m. Kahula.
  • i) A daughter of Hakau. m. Ke'eaka'ainalu. She had issue, a daughter.
• a) Alii Keakaula (d/o Kawehe). m. Kahoalanieia. She had issue, an only daughter.

• a son or a grandson:
  • i) Alii Kaiana Kuikue Ukupe (son or grandson of Kaolohaka-a-Keawe). m. Alii Kekikipa'a Kalani-kauleleiwai. He had issue, two sons:
    • (1) Alii Kaikioewa. b. ca. 1765. Governor of Kaui. m. (first) Alii Piipii Kalani- Kahiwauliakama (d. at Kamakahonu, Kailua, Kona, Hawaii Island, October 1818), youngest daughter of Alii Kamanawa I, by his second wife, Alii Kekuiapoiwa II, daughter of Alii Ha'ae-a-Mahi. m. Alii William Pitt Kalanimoku (d. at Kamakahonu, Kailua, Kona, Hawaii Island, 7^th February 1827), elder son of Alii Kekuamanoha, by his wife, Kamakahukilani, daughter of Kamakahukilani. She d. at Honolulu, Oahu, 4^th March 1821 - see Hawaii (Maui).
    • (2) Alii Kaokanu. m. Alii Loeau (m. second, H.H. Prince Mataio Kekuanaoa), daughter of daughter of Alii Kalani-nui-ulumoku, of Maui. He had issue, a daughter:
