Prince David La'amea Kahalepouli Kawananakoa, by his wife, Abigail Wahi'ika'ahu'ula, eldest daughter of James Campbell, Esq. (see - Hawaii (Kauai), educ. Oahu Coll., Hawaii; Fay Sch., Southboro', Massachusetts; Taft Sch., Watertown, Connecticut, and Belmont Mil. Acad., Belmont, California. Succeeded his father as Heir Apparent 2^nd June 1908. Succeeded Queen Liliu-o-kalani as Head of the Royal House of Hawaii, 11^th November 1917. Served in WW2 with the US Coast Guard. m. (first) at Honolulu, Oahu, ca. 1929 (div. ca. 1931) Eileen Hutchins, daughter of Rear-Admiral Charles Thomas Hutchins, USN, sometime cdr. of the US Pacific Fleet. m. (second) (div. 1933) Gertrude Leilani (b. 17^th October 1904; m. third, George R. Humphrey, and d. 26^th January 1978), former wife of Lindsay Anton Faye, and elder daughter of Walter Henry Scott, by his wife, Mary Eleanor Kaonohilani, daughter of William Hyde Rice. m. (third) 27^th October 1949, H.R.H. Princess Cecilia Kuliaikanuuwaialeale, daughter of Robert Kameeiamoku Parker Waipa, by his wife, Madaline Kekuakapuokane, daughter of Abraham Fernandez. [1953 - 1961] H.R.H. Princess Abigail Helen Kapi'olani Kawananakoa, Head of the Royal House of Hawaii. b. at Honolulu, Oahu, 14^th March 1903, eldest daughter of H.R.H. Prince David La'amea Kahalepouli Kawananakoa, by his wife, H.R.H. Princess Abigail Wahi'ika'ahu'ula, eldest daughter of James Campbell, Esq. (see - Hawaii (Kauai). Adopted by her maternal grandmother, Mrs Abigail Kuaihelani Maipinepine Kalaikini Campbell Parker, 8^th February 1908. Succeeded on the death of her younger brother as Head of the Royal House of Hawaii, 20^th May 1953. Regent of the Hale o na Alii o Hawaii (House of Chiefs of Hawaii) 1945-1961, etc. m. (first) 1922 (div.), Andrew Anderson Lambert (b. at Honolulu, Oahu, 25^th March 1900; d. at Kailua, Honolulu, Oahu, 15^th March 1966). m. (second) The Hon. Harry Montague Norman Gooding Field (d. at Honolulu, Oahu, 23^rd May 1964), educ. Punahou Coll., Honolulu, Oahu and Oregan State Univ., Corvallis, Oregan, Presdt. Princess Ester Kapi'olani [Marchesa Marignoli]. b. 1928. m. 21^st April 1954, The Noble Filippo Marignoli dei Marchese di Montecorona [Marchese Filippo Marignoli] (b. at Perugia, Italy, 8^th November 1926; d. at Seattle, Washington, USA, 22^nd January 1995, bur. Spoleto, Italy), abstract artist, younger son of The Noble Don Giulio Marignoli, Marquess di Montecorona, by his wife, The Noble Donna Marinetta, Marchioness di Montecornona, née Trotta. Princess Abigail Helen Kapi'olani Kawananakoa, Head of the Royal House of Hawaii, by her first husband, Andrew Anderson Lambert., educ. Punahou Coll., Honolulu, Oahu; Menlo Junior Sch., and Univ. of Southern California. Cmsnd. 2^nd-Lieut. US Army Air Corps 1944, and served in WW2 1944-1945. Succeeded on the death of his mother as Head of the Royal House of Hawaii, 8^th April1 1961. Regent of Hale o na Alii o Hawaii (House of Chiefs of Hawaii) 1961-1997, Presdt. Prince Kuhio Civic Club, Vice-Presdt. of the Friends of 'Iolani Palace, etc. m. (first) 1946 (div. 1960), Lila de Clark Whitaker (b. 23^rd April 1923). m. (second) 1961, H.R.H. Attorney-at-Law in private practice with Case & Lynch, then with Case, Bigelow & Lombardi until 2000. MHR 26^th District of the Hawaii State Legislature 1994-1998.
