Joined the Waffen SS as a private soldier February 1942, and served with the German Army during WWII 1942-1945. Secular Protector of the Pan-Islamic Assoc in Berlin, 1943-1945. Returned to Egypt 1947. Succeeded his elder brother in the title of Prince and style of His Highness, 21st April 1958. m. at Cairo, Egypt, 30th November 1933, H.H. Princess Fatma Daud (b. at Cairo, Egypt, 1915), daughter of Yahya Fawzi Bey, sometime Sec-Gen of the Egyptian Senate, by his wife, Bahiya Khanum. He d. 9th June 1965, having had issue, three sons:

Hosh al-Basha, Imam al-Shafi’i, Cairo), sometime Governor of Alexandria and of Giza 1815-1826 and 1827-1847, and Naval C-in-C 1826-1827, son of her maternal uncle, Husain Agha. Muhammad Khushru Bey al-Dramali (b. at Drama, Macedonia; d. after drinking a cup of Turkish coffee, at Jazira Muhammad, near Cairo, before 10th May 1834, bur. Hosh al-Basha, Imam al-Shafi’i, Cairo), Treasurer of Egypt 1813-1821, Governor of Upper Egypt 1816-1820 & 1824-1825, Governor and C-in-C (sir'askir) of Sennar and Kordofan 1821-1823, Minister for War 1825, son of Khalil Ibrahim Agha al-Dramali. She d.s.p. (committed suicide or executed for murder) at Alexandria, Egypt, August 1860 (bur. Hosh al-Basha, Imam al-Shafi’i, Cairo).
