Husain Kamil, Sultan of Egypt, Sovereign of Nubia, of the
Sudan, of Kordofan and of Darfur, GCB (c 19.12.1914). b.
at Cairo, 21st November 1853, second son of
H.H. Ismail Pasha, Khedive of Egypt, etc., GCB,
GCSI, by his second wife, H.H. Princess Jananyar
[Janazir] Berinici Khanum Effendimiz,
educ. Royal Sch., Cairo and in France. Granted the
personal title of Mîrmîran Pasha together
with the rank of Maj-Gen. in the Imperial Ottoman Army
6/4/1863, Dir-Gen. of Education, Charitable Endowments
& Public Works 1872-1875, prom. Field Marshal 1875,
Presdt. Legislative Cncl. 1909-1910. Proclaimed as Sultan
of Egypt, Sovereign of Nubia, of the Sudan, of Kordofan
and of Darfur with the style of 'Azama,
following the deposition of his nephew, 19th
December 1914. Installed at the 'Abdin Palace, Cairo, 20th
December 1914. Field Marshal Egyptian Army 20/12/1914.
Founded the Orders of Muhammad 'Ali, Ismail, the Nile and
al-Kemal, 14th April 1915. Presdt. Royal
Agricultural Soc. 1908-1914,Islamic Benevolent Soc., etc.
Rcvd: the Imperial Orders of the Osmans (Nishan-i-Osmanieh)
1st class and Nobility (Nishan-i-Majidieh)
1st class of Turkey, Knt. of the Order of

Ain ul-Hayat Khanum Effendi (b. at
Cairo, 5th October 1858; d. at Paris,
France, 12th August 1910, bur. Hosh
al-Basha, Imam al-Shafi'i, Cairo), Founder Presdt.
Muhammad 'Ali Benevolent Soc., eldest daughter of H.H.
Prince Ahmad Rifa'at Pasha, sometime Presdt. Cncl.
of State, by his second wife, Dilbar-Jahan Khanum.

March 1887, H.H. Sultana Malak Khanum Effendimiz
(b. at Istanbul, Turkey, 27th October
1869; d. at Heliopolis, 4th February
1956, bur. ar-Rifai Mosque, Cairo), raised to the
title of Sultana with the style of 'Azama,
19th December 1914, rcvd: the
Decoration of al-Kemal in brilliants (1915), daughter of
Admiral H.E. Hasan Turhan Pasha, late ION, a
Circassian, and adopted daughter of H.H. Jahan Uffat Kadin
Effendimiz, wife of H.H. Khedive Ismail. He d.
at the 'Abdin Palace, Cairo, 9th October 1917
