1344 - 1372 Elect of God, Emperor Saifu Ar’ad [Niwaya Krestos I], King of Kings of Ethiopia. b. as Qwastantinos, youngest son of Elect of God, Emperor Gabre Maskal, King of Kings of Ethiopia, by his first wife, Belen Saba, Ba’altehat, educ. privately. Baptised as Niwaya Krestos. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1344. Crowned as Saifu Ar’ad (he who makes the sword tremble). m. (first) Woizero Lazzab Warqa. m. (second) Woizero Irafta Dengal, daughter of Hizb Anbasa, eldest son of Del Seggad, Negus of Walaqa. m. (third) ... He d. 1372, having had issue:

1) Prince (Abetahun) Niwaya Mariam, who succeeded as Elect of God, Emperor Wadim Asfare [Girma Asfare], King of Kings of Ethiopia - see below.

2) Prince (Abetahun) Qirqos, who succeeded as Elect of God, Emperor Dawit II, King of Kings of Ethiopia - see below.

1) Princess (Woizero) Barbara. A Nun at Debre Daret Convent.

2) A daughter. m. Tasfa Mikael, elder son of Bajrond, third son of Del Seggad, Negus of Walaqa. She had issue, a daughter:
- a) Princess (Woizero) Takulan. Ancestress of:
  - xxx, who m. Mariam-Kebra, of Sagla, and had issue, three sons and one daughter:
    - Nagada Iyasus, Aqaba-Sa’at of Dabra Hayq Estifanos. Counsellor of State to Emperor Lebna Dengel. m. Woizero Sara, daughter of Ras Rade. He was k. by the Muslims, 1534, having had issue, three sons:
      - Be’ese-Egzi’abeher. m. Princess (Woizero) Romana Worq, former wife of Semo-Wald, Negus of Gayn, and daughter of Elect of God, Emperor Na’od I [Anbasa Batzar], King of Kings of Ethiopia, by his wife, Empress Na’od Mogassa. He was k. by the Muslims alongside his father, 1534, having had issue, two sons - see below.
      - Abeto Itema. He had issue, a daughter:

      - Prince (Abetahun) Semo'n. He had issue, a daughter:
        
        Woizero Fate Salamawit. m. Beze, Negus of Walaqa, elder son of Abeto Nolot Gabre Iyasus, by his wife, Woizero Walatta Nabiyat, daughter of the Bahr Negus. She had issue, one son - see below.
    - Abeto Arka Sellus.
    - Abuqir.
    - Woizero Madana. m. ... She had issue, a son:
      - Abeto Aqorewos. He had issue, a daughter:
        
        Woizero Ihata Krestos. m. H.M. Elect of God, Emperor 'Alam Seggad [Sultan Seggad II], King of Kings of Ethiopia (b. at Magazaz, before November 1603; d. at Gondar, 18^th October 1667, bur. St Stephen's Monastery, Daga, Lake Tana), second son of H.M. Emperor Sultan Seggad I [Malik Seggad III], by his wife, H.M. Empress Sultan Mogassa. She d. before 8^th September 1662, bur. Arwa Mariam Church, Masraha island, Lake Tana), having had issue, four sons and three daughters.

3) Princess (Woizero) Mangast Nada (d/o Irafta Dengal). m. Ella-waz Negus. She had issue, four sons:

1372 -1382 Elect of God, Emperor Wadim Asfare [Girma Asfare], King of Kings of Ethiopia. b. as Prince Niwaya Mariam, eldest son of Elect of God, Emperor Saifu Ar'ad [Niwaya Krestos I], King of Kings of Ethiopia, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1372. Deposed by his younger brother, 1382. He d. 1382 (bur. St George's Church, Atronsa Egzeetna Mariam Monastery, Saynt, Amhara).
