1632 - 1667 H.M. Elect of God, Emperor ‘Alam Seggad [Sultan Seggad II], King of Kings of Ethiopia, Nubia, Enarya and all the kingdoms of Saba. b. at Magazaz, Shoa, before 10^th November 1603, as Prince Fasiladas, second son of H.M. Elect of God, Emperor Sultan Seggad I [Malik Seggad III], King of Kings of Ethiopia, by his wife, H.M. Empress Sultan Mogassa, educ. privately. Appointed as Heir Apprent by his father, 14^th June 1624. Raised to the title of Dejazmatch 1627, Governor of Semien 1627-1632. Succeeded on the abdication of his father, 14^th June 1632. Crowned as ‘Alam Seggad (‘He to whom the world bows’), at the Cathedral of St Mary of Zion, Axum, September 1632. Removed his capital to Gondar in 1636. m. Woizero Ihata Krestos (d. before 8^th September 1662, bur. Arwa Mariam Church, Masraha island, Lake Tana), daughter of Aqorewos, of Walaqa, a descendant of Tasfa Mikael, by his wife, a daughter of Emperor Saifu Ar’ad. m. (i) Woizero Zeliha, elder sister of Meliha, supposed daughter of the ‘King of Rome’. m. (ii) Woizero Meliha, younger sister of Zeliha, supposed daughter of the ‘King of Rome’. m. (iii) Woizero Sabla Wangal [H.M. Empress A’alaf Mogassa] (m. second, October 1667, H.M. Elect of God, Emperor A’alaf Seggad [Sadiqu Yohannes Qedus Za Tadda] [Yohannes I], King of Kings of Ethiopia, her step-son, and d. at Hamad Bar, 13^th January 1690, bur. Arwa Mariam Church, Masraha island, Lake Tana – see below), daughter of Prince Gabre Maskal, of the Madabay, by his wife, a sister (or half-sister) of Emperor ‘Alam Seggad [Sultan Seggad II]. He d. at the Fasil Gemb, Gondar, 18^thOctober 1667 (bur. at Ganata Iyasus
Church, Azzazo, later transferred to St Stephen’s Monastery, Daga, Lake Tana), having had issue, at least forty-eight sons (of whom 44 survived after 1694) and several daughters:

1) Prince (Abetahun) Qwastantinos. He d.v.p. at Dabet, before 8^th September 1644.
2) Prince (Abetahun) Yostos (s/o Woizero Ihata Krestos). He d.v.p. before 1667 (bur. with his mother at Arwa Mariam Church, Masraha island, Lake Tana).
3) Prince (Abetahun) Dawit. Rebelled against his father in 1667 at Bayla, captured and imprisoned at Mount Wahni, but released in 1698.
4) Prince (Abetahun) Yohannes, who succeeded as H.M. Elect of God, Emperor A'alaf Seggad [Sadiqu Yohannes Qedus Za Tadda] [Yohannes I], King of Kings of Ethiopia (s/o Woizero Ihata Krestos) - see below.
5) Prince (Abetahun) Iskander. He d.at Gondar, 8^th November 1697 (bur. Arwa Mariam Church, Masraha island, Lake Tana).
6) Prince (Abetahun) Seraye [Surahe] Krestos.Dejazmatch. He d. 1^st June 1670.
7) Prince (Abetahun) Tewodosyos. He had issue, a son:
- a)Bajerond Iyasus Moa. Rebelled against Emperor Iyasu the Great November 1703. m. (first?) a daughter of Za Manfas Kidus, by his wife, Princess Eleni, daughter of H.M. Emperor A'alaf Seggad [Yohannes I], by Woizero Mammit Berensa, daughter of H.H. Ras Faris, of Lasta, Viceroy during the reign of Emperor Takla Haymanot. m. (second) Princess (Woizero) Walatta Israel (d. 4^th October 1739, bur. Sadda, Lake Tana), daughter of H.M. Emperor Adyam Seggad I [Iyasu the Great]. He was k. before 10^th December 1705, having had issue, a son by his second wife - see below.
8) A ‘younger son‘ of Emperor ‘Alam Seggad [Sultan Seggad II], possibly Prince Dawit, had issue, including three sons:

a) Prince (Abetahun) Bisores. He had issue, a son:

i) Prince (Abetahun) Yonas. He had issue, a son:

(1) Prince (Abetahun) Latsun. He had issue, a son:

(a) H.M. Elect of God, Emperor Yonas, King of Kings of Ethiopia, Nubia, Enarya and all the kingdoms of Saba - see below.

b) Prince (Abetahun) Mammo. He had issue, a son:

i) Prince (Abetahun) Gabre Manfeskedu. He had issue, a son:

(1) Prince (Abetahun) Giyorgis Manfeasked. He had issue, a son:

(a) H.M. Elect of God, Emperor Gigar, King of Kings of Ethiopia, Nubia, Enarya and all the kingdoms of Saba - see below.

c) Prince (Abetahun) Aganatheos. He had issue, a son:

i) Prince (Abetahun) Wolde Amlak. He had issue, a son:

(1) Prince (Abetahun) Masraha. He had issue, a son:

(a) Prince (Abetahun) Gabre Masai. He had issue, two sons:

(i) H.M. Elect of God, Emperor Sahle Dengal, King of Kings of Ethiopia, Nubia, Enarya and all the kingdoms of Saba - see below.
(ii) Prince (Abetahun) Saba. He had issue, a son:

1a. H.M. Elect of God, Emperor Gabia Krestos, King of Kings of Ethiopia, Nubia, Enarya and all the kingdoms of Saba - see below.

1) Princess (Woizero) Kedaste Krestos. m. Adara of Sire (son of Ilyas or Azzaz Warasi?). She d. 6^th July 1670, having had issue:

2) Princess (Woizero) Tawkleya. m. before 14^th June 1651, Dejazmatch La'eka Mariam, sometime Governor of Lasta, son of Prince (Abetahun) Malkea Krestos. She d. 9^th December 1667 - see above.
3) Princess (Woizero) Sabana Giyorgis (sister of Tawkleya?). Granted Salem in fief. She d. 9^th December 1667.
4) A daughter. m. ca. 1663, as his first wife (not consumated) Dejazmatch Habte Sellus (d. 6^th September 1704, bur. Addi-Shefelet), of Hamasen, Bahr Negus and Governor of the Marab Malash 1663-1667, son of Kantiba Gabre Selassie, of Tsezega, by his wife, Ite Marata Ab. She was k. by her husband, ca. 1663.
5) Princess (Woizero) Walatta Negest. m. Ras Fesha Krestos (d. 4^th August 1712), appointed as Fitawrari, prom. Dejazmatch October 1682, and Ras 1711, Governor of Gojjam 1682, and of Begameder 1709-1712. She d. 9^th December 1706, having had issue, a daughter:
- a) Princess (Woizero) Walatta Kiros. m. Blattengeta Kidan, Azzaz of Araqmasara 1749-1752, and Azzaz Elfen 1752-1754. She d. 1^st November 1748 (bur. Gaba).
6) Princess (Woizero) Walatta Dengal. She d. at her fief, before 21^st February 1687.
7) Princess (Woizero) Ilarya. m. and had issue:
- a) xxx, who had issue:

8) Princess (Woizero) Iskanderawit. m. Ras Wolde Giyorgis, of Wagde and Gojjam^#, son of Azzaz Fasiladas, son of Qeshate Bahrey, of Gamo. She had issue, four sons:
- a) Prince (Abetahun) Demetros. Priest at Qene. He d. at Dabra Berhan, Shoa, 12^th June 1716.
- b) Prince (Abetahun) Mikael, of Wagde. He had issue, a son and a daughter:
  - i) Ras Tasfa Iyasus, of Wagde. Appointed Dejazmatch 1722, Governor of Gojjam 1722-1724, and Semien 1727-1728, prom. Ras 1724, Bitwodad 1724-1727 & 1728-1729. He d. 18^th December 1743 (bur. Abuna Ewostatewos Church, Gondar).
  - i) Immabet Mariamawit [H.M. Empress Adyam Mogassa]. m. H.M. Elect of God, Emperor Adyam Seggad I [Iyasu the Great], King of Kings of Ethiopia (b. 1662; k. on the island of Chaqla Mamzo, Lake Tana, 13^th October 1706, bur. Arwa Mariam Church, Masraha island, Lake Tana), second son of H.M. Emperor A'alaf Seggad, by his wife, H.M. Empress A'alaf Mogassa, daughter of Prince Gabre Maskal, of Madabay. She d. 27^th August 1723, bur. in the Royal Mausoleum, Dabra Berhan Selassie Church, Gondar), having had issue, two sons - see below.
- c) Prince (Abetahun) Wossen Seggad(uncle of Mariamawit, brother of Mikael, and son of Ras Wolde Giyorgis). Taqaqqin Blattengeta 30^th May 1721. He was k. at Gondar, 12^th January 1726.
- d) Prince (Abetahun) Qwaste (s/o Ras Wolde Giyorgis and Princess Iskanderawit). He d. 5^th March 1726 (bur. in the Royal Mausoleum, Dabra Berhan Selassie Church, Gondar).
9) Princess (Woizero) Sandoloqawit [Sinodiqawit]. She d. 28^th June 1724.
10) Princess (Woizero) Walatta Yohannes. She d. 17^th June 1718 (bur. Gana), having had issue, a son:
- a)Abeto Donzo. He d. at Dablo, 8^th July 1706.
11) Princess (Woizero) Walatta Pawlus. She d. 20^th September 1719 (bur. Sadda, Masraha island, Lake Tana).
12) Princess (Woizero) Walatta Satroni. m. Dejazmatch Reru (d. at Gana, 18^th January 1727). She d. 2^nd March 1729 (bur. Wagota).
13) Princess (Woizero) Basalantya. She d. (unm?) 25^th August 1728 (bur. Iyasus Church, Qaha).
14) Princess (Woizero) Amata Iyasus. She d. at Gondar, 13^th December 1727 (bur. in the Royal Mausoleum, Dabra Berhan Selassie Church).
15) Princess (Woizero) Walatta Mangest. m. Fasil the Frank. She d. at Gondar, 17^th February 1728.
16) Princess (Woizero) Sabla Wangel. She had issue, a son:
- a) Prince (Abetahun) Aneste. He d. before 3^rd October 1708, having had issue, a son:
  - i) Abeto Enqua'el. He had issue, a son:
    - (1) Abeto Kinfu Rufael. He had issue, a daughter:
      - (a) Woizero Walatta Gabre'el. m. Dejazmatch Hellawe, son of Arzu Sebentu. She had issue, a son:
