Talai Tupou, 14^th Tu'i Konokupolo. b. 1753, as Finau Tuku'aho, second son of Mumui'i Topou'ila Mapatongiamanu, 13^th Tu'i Konokupolo, by his second wife, Lepolo, daughter of Ha'a Ngata Motu'a Ata. Defeteated and expelled Tupou Mohe'ofo, 1793. Raised his father to the throne but ruled as Regent and Governor of Eua, with the title of Tu'i Puipuifatu 1793-1797. Succeeded on the death of his father, 29^th April 1797. Installed as 14^th Tu'i Konokupolo, with the name, Talai Tupou, at the Pangai Green, Kolovai, Hihifo, 14^th May 1797. m. (first) 'Ulukilupetea, Tu'i Ha'apai, elder daughter of his uncle, Ngalumoetutulu, by his wife, Siu'ulua, daughter of Hareapaua, Malupo of 'Uiha. m. He was k. at the annual 'inasi at Mu'a, by Finau Tupouni'ua, on behalf of Finau-'Ulukalala, 21^st April 1799, having had issue, three sons and one daughter:

2) The Hon 'Uiliami 'Ulakai Tupou. b. ca. 1796 (s/o Mata'ele). Named as successor to his elder brother, at Veilupesia, Uiha, 1820. Never formally installed. PC to King George Tupou I. m. (first) Ngako, daughter of Toto Siakumi. m. (second) Tupou-kolotulu Fuatalevu, daughter of H.H. Tupou Lahisi', 10^th Tu'i Konokupolo, by a junior wife. He d. at Vav'au, 1839, having had issue, two sons:
- a) Paula Halaevalu. b. ca. 1817 (s/o Ngako). m. 1847, Alisi Numia (b. 1824; d. 1885), daughter of Liua-Koe-Taua, by his wife, Lupe Ha'amoa. He d. 1880, having had issue:
  - i) Motekiai Halaholo. b. 1850. He d. at Kolofo'ou, Tongatapu, 28^th July 1893 (bur. there).
  - ii) The Hon 'Illaisa'ane. m. The Hon Masima Ata, younger son of The Hon Tofuaipangai, 6^th Ata. She had issue, one son and one daughter - see above.
- b) The Hon Sunia 'Akaveka Mafile'o. b. at Kolomotua, ca. 1820 (s/o Tupou-kolotulu). Treasurer & Minister for Finance 1876-1897. m. (first) 1841, The Hon Losaline Mafi Kaunanga, daughter of The Hon Malupo, of 'Uiha. m. (second) 1863, The Hon Fane Tupouvava'u Mafile'o (b. 1842), younger daughter of Finau-'Ulukalala-'i-Pouno-Tuapasi'i Sefaria, Tu'i Vava'u and 3^rd Finau-'Ulukalala, by his first wife, Tuputupu'o Pulotu, second daughter of 'Uluvalu, 2^nd Tu'i Pelehake. m.   - i) The Hon 'Uiliame Mae'aliuake. b. at Kolomotua, 4^th May 1842 (s/o Losaline), educ. Tupou Coll., Kolomotu'a. Exiled to Fiji 1887-1890, Clerk to King George Tupou I 1875, Chief Justice of Tonga, Governor of Ha'apai. m. Ma'ata (b. 1844; d. 1^st November 1918), elder daughter of George Alexander Blake, by his wife, Matelita Fusi. He d. on Ha'apai, 1918, having had issue, four sons and five daughters:
    - (1) Ikinesiasi Foukimoana Mae'aliuake. b. 25^th July 1864. He d. 24^th January 1917.
    - (2) Isileli Kafoa Mae'aliuake. b. 2^nd March 1868. m. Sisilia Popua. He d. 10^th August, 1924, having had issue, one son and two daughters:
      - (a) Apai Ata Kafoa. b. 26^th September 1911. He d. May 1912.
      - (b) Atelaite Tangimausia. b. 16^th January 1900. m. 15^th October 1920, Pita Kava, son of 'Inoke To'ofohe and Lesieli 'Ulukolo both of Pangai, Ha'apai. She d. 28^th August 1962, having had issue, seven sons and six daughters.
      - (c) Ane Lupe. b. 4^th August 1905. m. 19^th December 1921, Taufa Pulotu Tui'one, son of Sione Tui'one and Mele Loloahi both of Pangai, Ha'apai. She had issue, seven sons and six daughters.
    - (3) Sione Vainakula Mae'aliuake. b. 13^th August 1875.
    - (4) Sione Lamipeti Mae'aliuake. b. 7^th May 1878. m. Ma'ata Finau. He d. 3^rd January 1919.
    - (5) Sela Seini Tupoupau'u. b. 2^nd July 1862. m. Fakatulolo. She d. 6^th June 1935.
    - (6) Ilaisaane Tilisa. b. 26^th July 1870. m. Kioa. She d. 28^th January, 1960.
    - (7) Losimani Tu'ifua. b. 25^th August, 1872. m. Sepeti Mafi. She d. 17^th August 1939.
    - (8) The Hon Amelia Ata Langilangi. b. 30^th January 1881. m. (second) at Nuku'alofa, 1897, The Hon Solomone 'Otukolo ('Ahome'e), 'Ahome'e of Ha'avakatolo (b. 19^th May 1870; d. 29^th June 1936), son of The Hon Taniela 'Otukulo, 'Ahome'e of Ha'avakatolo, by his wife, The Hon Siulolovau Vaea 'Ahome'e, daughter of 'Aisea Vau Mataele.     - (1) The Hon 'Anau Kihesina Ma'afu. b. 12^th May 1900. m. The Hon Siosaia Lausi'i, 7^th Ma'afu-'o- Tukui'aulahi (d. 20^th January 1937), son of The Hon Siotame Fakatulolo, 6^th Ma'afu-'o- Tukui'aulahi. She d. 14^th May 1976, having had issue, one son and one daughter - see above.

  - iii) The Hon Sina Ulauli'i Tu'iha'ateiho. b. 10^th May 1878 (d/o Siu). m. 15^th June 1909, The Hon Havea Kelepe, 11^th Tu'i Ha-ateiho (b. 18^th August 1874; d. 1940), youngest son of The Hon Tungimanalia Paul Kolokivaitupu Havaea, 9^th Tu'i Ha'ateiho, by his wife, The Hon 'Akanesi Tongalaukau Tu'iha'ateiho, daughter of The Hon Osaiasi Foru Veikune, sometime Governor of Vava'u. She d. 1928, having had issue, two sons - see Tonga (Tu'i Ha'a Takala'ua).
