1558 - 1584 Bagus Kachung/Kyai Ageng Pamanahan/Kyai Gede Mataram, Panembahan of Mataram. Appointed as Panembahan of Mataram by the ruler of Pajang, 1558. Founded Kota Gede, near present-day Yogyakarta in 1577. Finally took control of Mataram in 1581, although promised to him by Mas Krebet/Jaka Tingkir/Sultan Adi Vijaya of Pajang in 1558. m. the eldest daughter of his aunt, Nyai Gede Saba. He d. at Kota Gede, 1584, having had issue:

1584 - 1601 Inkang Minulya Panembahan Senapati ing Alaga Suta Vijaya Saiyid ud-din Panatagama, Panembahan of Mataram. Adopted by Sultan Adi Vijaya of Pajan. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1584. Conquered Pajang (1587), Demak (1588), Madium (1590), Kedhiri, Panaraga and other parts of south eastern Java (1591). Unsuccessfully attacked Banten in 1597. Assumed the style of Senapati ing Alaga Saiyid ud-din Panatagama, 1588. m. (first) a daughter of Kyai Bagus Pase Fathu'llah, Sultan of Cirebon. m. (second) a daughter of Kyai Ajeng Giring. m. (third) 1590, Radin Ayu Ratna Jamila (bur. Kota Gede), daughter of Pangeran Timur/Panembahan Mas of Madiun. m. (fourth) the eldest daughter of Kyai Ageng Wanatara. He d. at Jenar, 30th July 1601 (bur. Kota Gede), having had issue, twelve sons and two daughters:

1601 - 1613 Ingkang Sinuhun Kangjeng Susuhanan Adi Prabhu An Chakravati Senapati ing Alaga Saiyid ud-din Panatagama [Panembahan Seda Krapyak], Panembahan of Mataram. Succeeded on the death of his father, 30th July 1601. m. (first) Ratu Tulung Ayu [Lungngayu], a lady from Panaraga, and a descendat of Sultan Akbar II of Demak. m. (second) Ratu Alit, a princess of Pajang. m. (third) (morganatically) a lady from Giring. He d. at Japara, 29th September 1613 (bur. Kota Gede), having had issue:

1613   Panembahan Senapati ing Alaga Mas Martapura Saiyid ud-din Panatagama, Panembahan of Mataram. b. 1605, as Radin Mas Wurya. Appointed as Heir Apparent by his father. Succeeded on the death of his father, 29th September 1613. Deposed by his elder brother, on the grounds that he was 'mentally ill'. He d. 17th January 1678.

1613 - 1645  H.H. Ingkang Sinuhun Kangjeng Sultan Agung Senapati ing Alaga Prabhu Pandita Chakra Kusuma 'Abdu'l-Rahman Saiyid ud-din Panatagama, Susuhanan of Mataram. b. 1593, educ. privately. Succeeded on the deposition of his younger brother, 1613. Conquered Pasuruan (1617), Tuban (1619), Madura (1624), Surabaya (1625) and Pati (1627). Assumed the title of Susuhanan in 1625. Granted the title of Sultan 'Abdu'llah Muhammad Maulana Matarini by the Islamic authorities in Mecca, 1640. He moved the capital to Karta. m. (first) 1620, Kanjeng Ratu Kulon/Ratu Mas Tinumpak (d. 1653), daughter of the Panembahan Ratu of Cirebon. m. (second) Radin Ajeng Wetan/Kanjeng Ratu Kulon (bur. Imagiri), a lady from Batang. m. (third) before 1613, Kanjeng Ratu Kidul.. He d. 1645 (bur. Imagiri), having had issue:
