1805 - 1831 H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Ja'afar 'Ala ud-din Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Haji, Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Riau. b. at Teluk Pedada, off the coast of Perak, 1770, eldest son of H.H. Paduka Sri Raja Haji bin Raja Chelak, Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Riau, by his fifth wife, Encik Gandira, a lady from Indragiri, educ. privately. Appointed by the government of the NEI as Viceroy (Yang di-Pertuan Muda) 1805. Installed by the Sultan of Johor with the personal title of Paduka Sri Sultan Ja'afar 'Ala ud-din Shah, 1806. m. (first) at Indragiri, before 15th July 1788, a daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Bahar ud-din Alam, Sultan of Indragiri. m. (second) at Klang, 1807, Y.M. Raja Saleha binti al-Marhum Sultan 'Ali 'Ala ud-din Shah, Tengku Lebar (b. 1770; d. 1849), daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan 'Ali 'Ala ud-din Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Kamboja, Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Riau, by his first wife, H.H. Raja Penuh binti al-Marhum Sultan Saleh ud-din, Tengku Besar, eldest daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Saleh ud-din Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Chelak, Sultan of Selangor. m. (third) at Kuala Trengganu, 1823, Encik Khadija binti 'Abdu'llah, a locally born Chinese convert to Islam. He d. at Lingga, 18th December 1831, having had issue, twelve sons and seventeen daughters:

1831 - 1844 H.H. Raja 'Abdu'l Rahman ibni al-Marhum Sultan Ja'afar 'Ala ud-din Shah, Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Riau. b. 1809, eldest son of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Ja'afar 'Ala ud-din Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Haji, Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Riau, by his second wife, Y.M. Raja Saleha binti al-Marhum Sultan 'Ali 'Ala ud-din Shah, Tengku Lebar, educ. privately. Appointed by the government of the NEI as Viceroy (Yang di-Pertuan Muda) on the death of his father, 18th December 1831. m. (first) 12th August 1824, H.H. Raja Fatima binti Raja Idris, second daughter of his uncle, Y.M. Raja Idris bin Raja Haji. m. (second) …(d.s.p.). m. (third) …(d.s.p.). m. (fourth) …(d.s.p.). He d. at Penyengat Island, 17th June 1844, having had issue, three sons and three daughters:
