Y.M. Sayyid Zainal-Abidin al-Idrus, sometime TemenggongPadukaTuan of Muar, son of a Sayyid from the Al-Idrus clan*, from Kampong Pasir, Aceh, who originated from the Hadramaut in South Arabia. m. (a) Encik Hamida [Milah], Che’PuanTrengganu. m. Y.A.M. Ku Tanang Wangsa ibni al-Marhum Sultan Zainal-Abidin, EngkuTuan, eldest son of H.H. Paduka Sri Tuanku Sultan Zainal-Abidin I bin Dato Bendahara Tun Habib ‘Abdu’l Majid [al-Marhum Bukit Nangka], Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Trengganu.
(b) Encik Menjiwa [Miju]. m. as his first wife, Y.M. Tun ‘Abdu’l Jamal bin Dato’ Bendahara Paduka Raja Tun Husain [Tun Abu], MaharajaIndiraBongsu of Trengganu (d. 1777), third son of Y.M. Tun Husain ibni al-Marhum Sultan ‘Abdu’l Jalil Ri’ayat Shah, Dato’BendaharaPaduka, sometime Governor of Trengganu. She had issue, five sons and three daughters – see below.

i) Dato’Sa’ Akardi-Raja. He d. at Segamat, Johore (bur. there at Kampung Lubok Batu), having had issue, two sons:
(1) Engku Sa’Amardi-Raja, of Muar. Received a grant of the Muar territories from Sultan ‘Abdu’l Jalil Shah IV before 24th March 1708, and established his seat at Pantie Layang (=Pantai Layang?). He d. before 14th June 1733 (ur. Kampung Lubok Batu, Segamat), having had issue, two sons:
(a) Dato’ Temenggong Paduka Tuan of Muar. Styled Paduka Tuan during his father’s lifetime, he went down to court and was appointed by Sultan ‘Abdu’l Jalil Shah of Johor as the first Temenggong of Muar and promoted to the title of Dato’ Temenggong Paduka Tuan. He d. before 5th April 1772, having had issue:
(i) Wan Idris [Burok] [Adahoh], Dato’ Temenggong Paduka Tuan of Muar. Confirmed as the second Temenggong of Muar by the Sultan of Johore. He d. at Bunga Tanjong, Muar, before 26th May 1800 (bur. Kampung Lubok Batu, Segamat), having had issue, two sons:
1. Engku Kamil bin Temenggong Engku Burok [Konit], Temenggong Paduka Tuan of Muar. Invested as the third Temenggong of Muar by Sultan Mahmud III at Lingga, 1801. m. Engku Puan. He d. at Segamat, Johore, before 12th June 1831 (bur. there at Kampung Lubok Batu), having had issue, one son and one daughter:
a. Engku Said bin Temenggong Engku Konit, Temenggong Dato’ Said of Muar. Invested as the fourth Temenggong of Muar with the title of Temenggong Dato Said by Sultan Hussain, at Singapore, 1832. He d.s.p. at Segamat, Johore, 1847 (bur. there at Kampung Lubok Batu).

c) Y.M. Sri Paduka Tun Pikrama Tun Habib ‘Abdu’l Majid bin Tun Mat ‘Ali, Dato’BendaharaSriMaharaja (cre. 1677). Regent of Johor 1688-1697. m. Y.M. Tun Rambiah, daughter of the Chief Minister of Aceh. He d. at Padang Saujana, Johor, 27th July 1697 (bur. there at Makam Bendahara), having had issue sixteen children, including:
i) Y.M. Sri Paduka Tun Sulong ‘Abdu’l Jalil, Dato’BendaharaPadukaRaja, who succeeded as H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan ‘Abdu’l Jalil IV Ri’ayat Shah Zillu’llah fi al-’Alam bin Dato’ Bendahara Sri Maharaja Tun Habib Ghazi, Sultan of Johor and Pahang (full brother of Tun ‘Abdu’l Jamal) – see below.
ii) Y.M. Sri Paduka Tun Mas Anum bin Dato’ Bendahara ‘Abdu’l Majid, Dato’BendaharaSriMaharaja (3rd September 1699). He d. at Panchor, 28th January 1708, having had issue, a son:
(1) OrangKayaDato’SriWakRaja. He d. after 1746, having had issue, a son:
iii) Y.M. Sri Paduka Tun ‘Abdu’llah bin Dato’ Bendahara ‘Abdu’l Majid, Dato’BendaharaPadukaRaja (cre. 1708). Previously styled Dato’Temenggong. A rich and powerful noble, he commanded a force of 1,000 cannon, 2,000 guns and 5,000 men-at-arms. He was k. at Pekan, Pahang Lama, Pahang, fighting his brother Mukamil, in which action both brothers expired, 12th September 1716 (bur. Makam Mutahir, Pekan, Pahang Lama, Pahang).
iv) Y.M. Sri Paduka Tun ‘Abdu’l Jamal bin Dato’ Bendahara ‘Abdu’l Majid, Dato’BendaharaSriMaharaja (cre. 1717), of Pahang (full brother of Sultan ‘Abdu’l Jalil). Styled Dato’ Temenggong 1719-1721. He had issue, one son and one daughter:
(1) Y.M. Sri Paduka Tun Hasan bin Dato’ Bendahara Tun ‘Abdu’l Jamal, Dato’BendaharaSriMaharaja (cre. 25th July 1748 n.s.). Styled OrangKayaEngku RajaIndraBongsu before 1747. Signatory to the treaty with the VOC concluded at Malacca on 6th January 1756. m. after 1723, Y.A.M. Tengku Tengah Fatima binti al-Marhum Sultan ‘Abdu’l Jalil Ri’ayat Shah [Tengku Raja Irang] (b. after 1701; d. in Siak, before 1741), widow of Opu Daeng Parani, of Riau, and daughter of his paternal uncle, H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan ‘Abdu’l Jalil IV Ri’ayat Shah Zillu’llah fi al-’Alam bin Dato’ Bendahara Sri Maharaja Tun Habib Ghazi, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Johor and Pahang and their dependencies, by his second wife, Encik Nusamah, To’Tengah, daughter of Mamajit, a commoner from Aceh. He d. after 1764 and before 1770, having had issue, two sons and a daughter:
(a) Y.M. Tun ‘Abdu’l Majid bin Dato’ Bendahara Sri Maharaja Tun Hasan. b. before 28th May 1748. He had issue, one son and three daughters:
(i) Y.M. Encik Engku Talib bin Tun ‘Abdu’l Majid [Engku Koris]. Note that the Trengganu genealogies equate this individual with Y.M. Sri Paduka Tun Koris bin Dato’ Bendahara Paduka Raja Tun ‘Abdu’l Majid [Engku Endau], Dato’ Bendahara Paduka Raja, the ancestor of the Pahang line (see below). Alas, part of the along standing attempt to enhance the Trengganu claim to supremacy over the Johor and Pahang Royal Houses.
(i) Y.M. Encik Engku Teh binti Tun ‘Abdu’l Majid.
(ii) Y.M. Encik Engku Mandak binti Tun ‘Abdu’l Majid.
(iii) Y.M. Encik Engku Nik binti Tun ‘Abdu’l Majid.
(b) Y.M. Encik Engku Al-Mujamal bin Dato’ Bendahara Tun Hasan. Note that the Trengganu version equates this individual with Y.M. Sri Paduka Tun ‘Abdu’l Jamal bin Dato’ Bendahara Sri Maharaja Tun Abbas, Dato’ Temenggong Paduka Raja of Riau, the ancestor of the Johore line (see below). This is also part of the attempt to enhance the Trengganu claim to supremacy over the Johore line. The short form of Mujamal would, if anything, stand for Muhammad Jamal not ‘Abdu’l Jamal. They are clearly two different individuals.
(c) Y.M. Encik Koris bin Dato’ Bendahara Tun Hasan, Engku Bongsu, of Trengganu. Wakil at Dungun. Author of “Aturan Setia Bugis dengan Melayu”. The probable ancestor of the Dungun family - see Malaysia (Trengganu-Dungun).

v) H.H. Paduka Sri Tun Mahmud bin Dato’ Bendahara ‘Abdu’l Majid, Yangdi-PertuanMuda, of Daik. Styled OrangKayaRajaIndraBongsu 1699-1708, Dato’Shahbandar 1707-1708, and Yangdi-Pertuan Muda from 1709. He fought in battles at Batu Bahara (Deli) in 1710 and at Indragiri in 1714. He d. at Kayu Anak, Johore Lama, before 28th December 1715 (bur. Makam Tauhid), having killed his wives and concubines and several children to prevent them from falling into the hands of those who had rebelled against his tyranny. He had issue, one son and seven daughters, including:

(2) Y.M. Tengku Raja Amina binti Yam Tuan Muda Mahmud [Tun Inah].She escaped her father’s rampage by falling down amongst the corpses. m. ca. 4th October 1722, Daeng Manto [Mengato] [Mangngatuk], a Bugis nobleman.
(3) Y.M. Tun Kechil binti Yam Tuan Muda Mahmud. m. ca. 4th October 1722, Daeng Masuro [Mesuru/Sasuru], a Bugis nobleman.
(4) Y.M. Tun Ngah Aisha binti Yam Tuan Muda Mahmud. m. October 1722, To’ Tuan Karaeng Aji (bur. Makam To’ Tuan, Pekan, Pahang Lama, Pahang), a Bugis (more likely Gowan or Makassarese) nobleman who founded a settlement at Kampong Mengkasar, near Pekan, Pahang Lama and became the ancestor, on the female side, of the Shahbandar family of Pahang.
(5) Y.M. Tun Umuk binti Dato’ Bendahara Tun Mahmud, Engku Encik Puan Dalam (full sister of Tengku Raja Muhammad and first cousin of Sultan Sulaiman Badr ul-‘Alam Shah). m. at Riau, 15th March 1743, Y.A.M. Paduka Sri Raja Gombak [Kembok] ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muzafar Shah, Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Indiragiri (b. posthumously, before 26th December 1715), younger son of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Muzafar Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Modamad Shah, Sultan of Indragiri, by his wife, a lady from Pematang Peranap – see Indonesia (Indiragiri).
vi) Y.M. Sri Paduka Tun Muhammad Kamil [Mukamil] bin Dato’ Bendahara ‘Abdu’l Majid, Dato’TemenggongSriMaharaja, of Tanjong Batu. He was k. at Pekan, Pahang Lama, Pahang,
fighting his brother ‘Abdu’llah, in which action both brothers expired, 12th September 1716 (bur. Makam Mutahir, Pekan, Pahang Lama, Pahang), having had issue, a son and a daughter:
(1) Y.M. Encik Engku ‘Abdu’l Rahman bin Dato’ Temenggong Sri Maharaja Muhammad Kamil.
(1) Encik Che’ Puan. m. Y.M. Tun Muhammad Tahir ibni al-Marhum Sultan ‘Abdu’l Jalil [Mutahir], Dato’TemenggongSriMaharaja (d. in Pahang, before 12th December 1757 (bur. Royal Mausoleum, Kuala Pahang), son of her paternal uncle, H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan ‘Abdu’l Jalil IV Ri’ayat Shah Zillu’llah fi al-’Alam bin Dato’ Bendahara Sri Maharaja Tun Habib Ghazi, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Johor and Pahang and their dependencies, by his first) wife, Raja Embun. She had issue - see below.
vii) Y.M. Sri Paduka Zainal ‘Abidin bin Dato’ Bendahara ‘Abdu’l Majid, Dato’SriPadukaMaharaja, who became H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Zainal ‘Abidin I bin Dato’ Bendahara ‘Abdu’l Majid, 1st Sultan of Trengganu – see Malaysia (Trengganu).
viii) Y.M. Sri Paduka Tun ‘Abdu’l Rahim bin Dato’ Bendahara ‘Abdu’l Majid, EngkuSiwaRaja (same as Bani?) (s/o a junior wife). m. ca. 1733, the widow of his elder brother, Sultan Zainal ‘Abidin I of Trengganu, a daughter of Dato’ Sharif ‘Abdu’l Malik bin ‘Abdu’llah, TukKuPulau Manis.
ix) Y.M. Engku Encik Bani bin Dato’ Bendahara ‘Abdu’l Majid, Engku Siwa Raja (same as ‘Abdu’l Rahim?) (s/o a junior wife). m. ca 1733, To’ Che’ Puan, widow of his late elder brother,H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Zainal-Abidin I bin Dato Bendahara Tun Habib ‘Abdu’l Majid, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Trengganu, daughter of a Dato’ of Bukit Tumbuh, and granddaughter of Dato’ Wan Ismail, Dato’ Trengganu.
i) A daughter (sister of Tun Zainal ‘Abidin). m. at Kuala Trengganu, Wan Siwuk bin Tun Sulaiman, To’ Kaya Padang of Kembur and Orang Kaya Indera Wangsa, son of Tun Sulaiman, “Sultan of Pantai Layang” aka To’ Raja Kilat, by his wife, Wan Emas Gemala, granddaughter of the To’ Raja Maha Mantri of Patani. She had issue, one child.
ii) A daughter (sister of Sultan ‘Abdu’l Jalil IV). m. 1702, the Dato’Shahbandar (d. ca. 1707). She d. in childbirth, 4th September 1703.
iii) Y.M. Tun Tipah binti Dato’ Bendahara ‘Abdu’l Majid, EncikChe’ PuanTua (half-sister of Sultan ‘Abdu’l Jalil IV). m. ca. 4th October 1722, Paduka Sri Sultan Ibrahim Shah Daeng Monopo [Daeng Menempok] Matoa, RajaTua (cre. 4th October 1722) (d. in Borneo, 3rd May 1735), son of the Patta Bau Lampuku, of Soppeng, in Sulawesi. She had issue.
a) Puteri Bakal binti Maharaja Sri ‘di-Raja Mat ‘Ali. m. H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Mahmud Shah II ibni al-Marhum Sultan Ibrahim Shah, Sultan of Johor and Pahang (k. at Kota Tinggi, 3rd September 1699), son of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Ibrahim Shah, Sultan of Johor and Pahang. She d.s.p. – see Malaysia (Johor-Malacca).
* One unsubstantiated account given in "Salasilah Tun Habib Abdul Majid, bapa kesultanan Pahang, Terengganu & Johor (serta Riau dan Selangor dari sebelah cundanya Tengku Mandak)" states his descent as - Tun Habib 'Abdu'l Majid ibni Maharaja Sri Diraja ibni 'Ali Zainal Abidin ibni 'Abdu'llah ibni Shaikh ibni 'Abdu'llah ibni Abu Bakar as-Shukran ibni 'Abdu'l Rahman as-Saqaf ibni Muhammad Mauli ud-Dawilah ibni 'Ali ibni Alwi ibni Muhammad Faqih al-Muqaddam ibni 'Ali ibni Sayyid Muhammad Mirbath ibni 'Ali Khlaiq Khasam ibni Alawi ibni Muhammad ibni Alawiy ibni 'Ubaidu'llah ibni Ahmad al-Muhajir ibni 'Isa ar-Rumi ibni Muhammad an-Naqib ibni 'Ali al-'Uraidhi ibni Ja'afar Sadiq ibni Muhammad Baqir ibni 'Ali Zainal Abidin ibni Sayyidina al-Hussein ibni Sayyidatina Fatima binti Rasulu'llah SAW.
