Succeeded on the death of his father, after the renunciation of his elder brother, Akhairaj, 1438. Driven from his capital by Chonda of Chittor, the murderer of his father. Reconquered Mandore in 1453, and formally installed on the gadi at Mandore Palace, 1458. Abandoned Mandore and founded a new capital at Jodhpur, beginning the construction of the famous Mehrangarh (the majestic fort) on 12th May 1459. m. 5) Rao Shri Dudaji, of Mertia. Ancestor of the Mertia family, Thakurs of Ghanerao and Riyan.
6) Kunwar Shri Rai Pal [Rayapalji] Sahib (s/o Bhatiyani Rani Puramji). Ancestor of the Marvar family.
7) Rao Shri Vanvir [Bhir] Sahib (s/o Bhatiyani Rani Puramji), of Mertia. Ancestor of the House of Jhabua - see India (Jhabua).
8) Kunwar Shri Jaswant Sahib (s/o Bhatiyani Rani Puramji).
10) Kunwar Shri Chandrao Sahib (s/o Bhatiyani Rani Puramji).

12) Rao Shri Bida (s/o Sankhli Rani Narangdeji), of Chhapar-Dronpur. He assisted his brother Bikaji in founding the principality of Bikaner in 1465. Founder of the Bidawat family, including the Bidasar estate in Bikaner. He had issue, two sons:
a) Rao Kalyan Mal, of Chhapar-Dronpur. He was defeated in battle and expelled from Dronput by Rao Jaitsi of Bikaner, 4th October 1527. Fled to Nagore.
b) Kunwar Sansar Chand. He had issue, a son:
i) Rao Shri Sanga, of Chhapar-Dronpur. Installed by Rao Jaitsi of Bikaner, 4th October 1527.
13) Kunwar Shri Var Singh. b. before 1440 (s/o Sonagari Rani Champa Bai).
14) Kunwar Shri Dudo. b. before 4th July 1441 (s/o Sonagari Rani Champa Bai).
15) Thakur Shri Joga, of Khariyo (s/o Hulni Rani Jamnadeji). The principal candidate for the throne in 1489, but passed over for his brother Satal, after making an inauspicious remark when about to receive the tikka. He d. after 1531, having had issue, a son:

a) Kunwar Shri Sahasmal. Ancestor of the Sekhavat clan, some of whom became Muslims, including the Nawabs of Nahargadh.
b) Kunwar Shri Ahkairaj.

4) Rao Shri Udaji [Udo] Sahib (s/o Mangliyani Rani Sarwandeji). He had issue, eleven sons, founder of the Udawat family, Thakurs of Neemaj, Jaitaran, Gundoj, Biratia and Raipur.
5) Kunwar Shri Prayag [Priaji] Sahib (s/o Mangliyani Rani Sarwandeji).
6) Rao Shri Sanga [Sango] Sahib (s/o Mangliyani Rani Sarwandeji). He d. 1516, having had issue, founder of the Sagawat family, Thakurs of Burwa.
7) Kunwar Shri Prithviraj Sahib (s/o Sangkli Rani Sahoramji).
8) Kunwar Shri Napo Sahib (s/o Sangkli Rani Sahoramji).
1515 Rao Shri Biram Singh Sahib [Viramde], Rao of Jodhpur, third son of Rao Shri Bagha Sahib, Heir Apparent of Jodhpur, by his third wife, Deori Rani Rangade Sahiba, of Sirohi, educ. privately. Appointed as Heir Presumptive on the death his father, 3rd September 1514. Succeeded on the death of his grandfather, 2nd October 1515. Deposed because his mother had insulted the senior Thakur of Bagri, 8th November 1515. Granted Sojhat as his fief together with the title of Rao, but later became deranged and took up arms against his half-brother. Expelled from Sojhat by Rao Gango, following the Battle of Sojhat, 9th April 1532. Granted the village of Khairvo for his maintenance, but was later driven from Marwar altogether. Thereafter, he took refuge with the Rana of Chittor, where he received Indravaro in fief.
1515 - 1532 Rao Shri Gangaji [Gango] Sahib, Rao of Jodhpur. b. 6th May 1484, second son of Rao Shri Bagha Sahib, by his second wife Kunwarani Udanbai Sahiba, educ. privately. Installed on the gadi at Sringar Chowki, Mehrangarh, Jodhpur, 8th November 1515. He was the first of his line to be annointed with a tilak of blood by the Thakur of Bagri, thus beginning a tradition unbroken to this day. m. (first) Shri Sangli Rani Ganga Deiji Sahiba (d.s.p.). m.
