• 9) H.R.H. Prince (Sado Min Hla) Maung Thu, Suriya Dharmaraja, Viceroy of Bassein (Bassein Buring Khan). b. 1778 (s/o Men Lun Poo). Raised to the ranks of Min Ye Myat Cho 1783, and Sado Min Hla. Granted the title of Suriya Dharmaraja 1796. Received Bassein in fief 9^th June 1782 and Meendaoung in 1789. Viceroy (Buring Khan) of Bassein 1796. Sentenced to death for consuming spirits, he was pardoned at the last moment, through the entreaties of his mother, and then lost his reason. m. (first) 1796, his half-sister, H.R.H. Raised to the rank of Min Ye Singhaya 1793. Granted Nebatkhyaung in fief, later Sabyay 5 Yuwa, and finally Kyauk Badon on 22^nd June 1806. Imprisoned by King Sagain after his accession. Served as a Col. of 500 in the Cachar war. m. (first) 1803, his half-sister, H.R.H. Princess Min Min Ye, Sri Suriya Dharmavati, Princess of Moungtwin (b. 1786), daughter of Wu Sri Nanda, Kolouptau Shin Min Kyut, Moungtwin Yuwasa. m. (second) a Kolouptau. Granted Mindat in fief and raised to the rank of Min Hla Nara 22nd June 1806. Cmsnd as Bo of 500 and sent to the Cachar front. He d. unm. at Cachar, 1822.
