1853 - 1878 H.M. Athet-u-san-paing-than-ashin Sri Pawara Vijaya Nandaratta Pandita Maha Dharma Rajadhiraja Mindon Min Thaya Gyi, King of Burma. b. at Amarapura, 8th July 1808, as Maung Lwin, educ. Maha Zawtika Yama Hteik Ratna Bonsan Kyaung, Amarapura. Raised to the rank of Min Ye Jaya 1828. Granted Meenloung in fief 1837. Granted the title of Sri Suriya Maha Dharmaraja 1840, and prom. to Sri Maha Sriha Suriya Dharmaraja 27th February 1847. Granted the personal rank and title of King, 21st December 1846. Fled from Amarapura to Moutchobo, 17th December 1852. Proclaimed King at Moutchobo, 18th December 1852. Returned to Amarapura with a large army, surrounded the city, was allowed in by the Magwe Wungyi and dethrone King Pagan, 17th February 1853. Succeeded on the forced abdication of his elder brother, 18th February 1853. Ascended the throne at Amarapura, and assumed the reign name of Sri Suriya Dharma Pawara Maha Dharma Rajadhiraja, 6th July 1854. Founded the new city of Ratnapura, 13th January 1857, thereafter styled The present Founder of the City of Ratnapura (Mandalay), Builder of the Royal Palace, Ruler of the Sea and Land, Lord of the Celestial Elephant and Master of many White Elephants, Owner of the Sekyah or Indra's Weapon, Lord of the Power of Life and Death and Great Prince of Righteousnes, King of the Rising Sun who reigns over Burma. Crowned at Ratnapura for a second time, assuming the new reign name of Sri Pawara Vijaya Nandaratta Pandita Maha Dharma Rajadhiraja [Thiri Pawara Wizara Nanda Yatha Pandita Maha Dhammarazadiraza] 14th May 1857. Transferred his capital from Amarapura to Ratnapura, 29th June 1857. m. (1) at Ava, 1836, H.M. Queen (Myauk-nandaw Mibura) Sri Maha Ratna Mangala Devi, Bhamo Myosa Mibura (b. 1814; d.s.p. from influenza at the Royal Palace, Ratnapura, 3rd May 1872, bur. there in the North Garden, but exhumed by King Thibaw and thrown into a common burialground), née Shin Mai The, sister of H.M. Queen Chandra Devi, Limban Thaiksa Myosa Mibura, and daughter of a Myothugyi commoner from Tovey.
m. (2) 1845, Shin Po, Ngabinzin Myosa Mibura (b. 1831; d.s.p. at Mandalay, 25th January 1888), niece of the Shwegu Mibura, wife of H.M. Sri Pawara Adityaluka Adipati Vijaya Maha Dharma Rajadhiraja Shwebo Myoti Min Thaya Gyi [Tharawaddy], King of Burma.

(5) at Shwebo, March 1853, Sri Jaya, Sao Hnan Ketha, Thibaw Myosa Mibura (b. 1823; d.s.p.), raised to the titles of Sri Suriya Dharma 1840, Sri Suriya Mala 1846, and Sri Jaya 1854, daughter of the Saopha of Hsipaw.

Sri Pawara Adityaluka Adipati Vijaya Maha Dharma Rajadhiraja Shwebo Myoti Min Thaya Gyi [Tharawaddy], King of Burma, by his wife, H.M. Queen (Nammadaw Mibura Hkaung Gyi). m. (9) at the Royal Palace, Amarapura, 1853, H.M. Queen (Ale-nandaw Hsinbyumashin Mibura Gyi) Sri Pawara Maha Ratna Devi (b. 22nd November 1821; d. at Rangoon, 26th February 1900), née H.R.H. Princess Shu Phra Gale, raised to the titles of Sri Tilaka Myat Swa 1823, Sri Pawara Tilaka Maha Ratna Devi 1833, and Sri Pawara Maha Ratna Devi 1854, and granted the fiefs of Sagain 1821, Sagain Debiyeen, Mede, Ngesinkoo, Zinada and Taunghu 1821-1837, and Bhamo and Wuntho 21st October 1878, daughter of H.M. King Sagain, by his wife, H.M. Queen (Nammadaw Mibura Hkaung Gyi), who had issue, six daughters. m. (10) at the Royal Palace, Amarapura, 1853, his half-sister, H.M. February 1879), raised to the titles of Sri Suriya Mangala Chandra Mahay 1854, and Maha Devi 1857, who had issue, three sons.m. (20) H.M. Queen (Taung-shwe-ye Mibura I) Prabha Devi (d. at Saigon, February 1909), née Shin Kho, raised to the titles of Sri Ratna Chandra Mahay 1854, and Prabha Devi 1857, who had issue, two sons and two daughters.m. (23) Padma Devi, Shin Lek Yauk, Tadaingshe Myosa Mibura (b. 1829), raised to the titles of Sri Maha Mangala Mahay 1854, and Padma Devi 1857, sister of Maung Oke, the Rangoon Wun. Arrested on the orders of the Ala-nandaw Queen 6th November 1878.m. (24) Kumari Devi, Shin Mo Gale, Kohnit Yuwasa (b. 1824; d. at Mandalay, 16th September 1899), raised to the titles of Sri Jaya Ratna Mangala Mahay 1854, and Kumari Devi 1857, sister of the Bhamo Atwinwunkaung. Arrested on the orders of the Ala-nandaw Queen 6th November 1878.m. (25) Chandra Devi, Shin Shwe Ma, Limban Thaiksa Myosa Mibura (b. 1830), raised to the titles of Sri Suriya Sita Chandra Mahay 1854, and Chandra Devi 1857, sister of H.M. Queen (Myauk-nandaw Mibura) Sri Maha Ratna Mangala Devi, and of the Prince of Yenatha, and daughter of a Myothugyi commoner from Tovey. She had issue, two sons and one daughter. Arrested on the orders of the Ala-nandaw Queen 6th November 1878.m.
