1915 - 1917 H.E. Shaikh Jabir II bin Mubarak Al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait and dependencies, CSI (3.6.1916). b. at Kuwait, 1860, son of H.E. Shaikh Mubarak I bin Sabah Al-Sabah, the Great, Shaikh of Kuwait and dependencies, KCSI, KCIE, by his wife, Shaikha Shekha bint Duaij Al-Sabah, daughter of Shaikh Duaij bin Jabir Al-‘Ali Al-Sabah, educ. privately. Cdr Red Fort Garrisson 1902-1903. Succeeded on the death of his father, 28th November 1915. Installed at Kuwait City, 29th November 1915. m. (first) Shaikha Sheikha bint ‘Abdu’llah Al-Sabah (d. 30th October 1939), elder daughter of H.E. Shaikh ‘Abdu’llah II Pasha Al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait. m. (second) an Ethiopian. m. (third) May 1908, a lady of the Bani Arayan family of the Bani Khalid tribe. He d. at Kuwait City, 5th February 1917 (bur. there), having had issue, two sons and one daughter:
  • 1) H.H. Shaikh Ahmad bin Jabir Al-‘Ali Al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait and dependencies (s/o Shekha) – see below.
  • 2) Shaikh Hamud bin Jabir Al-‘Ali Al-Sabah. b. 1912 (s/o the wife). Presdt Kuwait Municipality 1937-1942. m. (first) Jamila. m. (second) his niece, Shaikha Ruqaiya Al-Majid. m. (third) Haseena. m. (fourth) (div.) Hela, née Al-Mutairi. He d. 14th July 1973, having had issue, nine sons and four daughters:
    • a) Shaikh Nasir bin Hamud Al-Sabah (s/o Jamila). m. (first) Shaikha Nasima bint ‘Abdu’llah Al-Sabah, daughter of Shaikh ‘Abdu’llah bin Ahmad I Al-Sabah, by his wife, Sabha. m. (second) a Lebanese lady. He had issue, three sons:
      • i) Shaikh Badr bin Nasir Al-Hamud Al-Sabah. b. at Kuwait, 12th December 1951 (s/o Nasima). m. January 1981 (div.) H.E. Shaikha Hussa bint Sa’ad as- Sabah (b. 4th August 1950), daughter of H.H. Shaikh Sa’ad bin ‘Abdu’llah Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, KCMG, by his wife, H.E. Shaikha Latifa bint Fahad Al-Sabah, daughter of H.E. Shaikh Fahad bin Salim Al-Sabah, sometime Minister for Finance.
      • ii) Shaikh Khalid bin Nasir Al-Hamud Al-Sabah. b. at Kuwait, 1955 (s/o Nasima), educ. Warwick Univ (BA) and Univ of London (MA). Analyst (Japanese dept.) Kuwait Investment Office (KIO) in London 1983-1987, Asst Gen Mngr 1987-1989, Deputy Gen Mngr 1989-1993, Dir Grupo Torras SA 1987, Koolmees 1990, and Kokmeew 1990.

(first) Shamma, née Al-Mutairi. m. (second) H.E. Shaikha Mishail bint Ahmad Al-Sabah, daughter of H.H. Shaikh Ahmad bin Jabir Al-‘Ali Al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait, KCSI, KCIE, by his wife, Mariam, daughter of Murait Al-Hawaila, of the Ajman clan. m. (third) Mudhi, née Al-Mutairi. m. (fourth) “Umm Fahad”, from the Zubairi family. m. (fifth) a lady from the Al-Qumlas family. He had issue, four sons and seven daughters:
      • i) H.E. Shaikh Sabah bin Salim Al-Hamud Al-Sabah (s/o Shamma). m. H.E. Shaikha Shekha bint Jabir Al-‘Ali Al-Sabah, daughter of H.H. Shaikh Jabir III bin Ahmad Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, GCB, GCMG, by his wife, Delal, daughter of Nasir Al-Barrak of the Hawamil section of the Mutair tribe. He has issue, three sons and a daughter:
        • (1) Shaikh Salim bin Sabah Al-Salim Al-Hamud Al-Sabah (twin with his brother Hamud).
        • (2) Shaikh Hamud bin Sabah Al-Salim Al-Hamud Al-Sabah (twin with his brother Salim).
        • (3) Shaikh Faisal bin Sabah Al-Salim Al-Hamud Al-Sabah.

Shaikh ‘Abdu’llah bin Ahmad Al-Sabah, Governor of the Kuwait Citadel, by his wife, Shaikha Hussa bint Salim Al-Sabah, elder daughter of H.E. Shaikh Salim bin Mubarak Al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait – see below.
      • ii) Shaikha Shekha bint Salim Al-Hamud Al-Sabah (d/o Shamma). m. Shaikh Fahad bin Mubarak Al-Sabah (b. 20th June 1960), son of Shaikh Mubarak bin Sabah Al-Sabah, by his wife, Shaikha Munira bint Ibrahim Al-Sabah, daughter of Shaikh Ibrahim bin Hamud Al-Sabah. She has issue, two daughters and one daughters – see above.
      • iii) Shaikha Hind bint Salim Al-Hamud Al-Sabah (d/o Shamma).
      • iv) Shaikha Sabiha bint Salim Al-Hamud Al-Sabah (d/o Shamma). m. Shaikh Mish’al bin Mubarak Al-Sabah, son of Shaikh Mubarak bin ‘Abdu’llah Al-Sabah, sometime Presdt PTT Dept She has issue, three sons – see below.

Shaikh Ahmad I bin Jabir Al-‘Ali Al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait and dependencies, KCSI, KCIE, by his wife, Mariam, daughter of Murait Al-Hawaila, of the Ajman clan. He has issue, one son and four daughters:
      • i) Shaikh Majid bin Jabir Al-Hamud Al-Sabah. b. at Kuwait, 1971, educ. UK. Chair & CEO Villa Moda Fashion House since 1992, Villa Moda Lifestyle KSCC, etc. Dir Al-Sabah Art & Design Gallery. Mbr Advisery Brd of International Design Initiative (IDI). Dir Dubai Culture and Arts Authority since 2008, Tamdeen Real Estate Co KSCC, etc. m. Shaikha Samah Al-Sabah, a second cousin. Vice-Presdt Kuwait Football Union, Presdt Kuwait Olympic Cttee 1986. m. Shaikha Rabhah bint Ibrahim Al-Sabah, daughter of Shaikh Ibrahim bin Hamud Al-Sabah. He had issue, two sons and two daughters:

Shaikh Ahmad I bin Jabir Al-‘Ali Al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait and dependencies, KCSI, KCIE, by his wife, Yamama. She d. 30th December 2011, having had issue, four sons and three daughters – see below.
    • c) Shaikha Shahrazad bint Hamud Al-Sabah (d/o Ruqaia). m. 1969 (div. 1977) H.E. Shaikh Nasir bin Muhammad Al-Sabah (b. 22nd December 1941), sometime Ambassador to Iran and Afghanistan, younger son of H.E. Shaikh Muhammad bin Ahmad Al-Sabah, sometime Minister for Defence, by his wife, Nasima, daughter of H.E. Sayyid Talib PashaAl-Naqib. She had issue, two sons – see below.
    • d) Dr Shaikha Rasha bint Hamud Al-Sabah. b. 18th November 1950 (d/o Ruqaia), educ. Birmingham Univ (BA), and Yale Univ (MA, PhD). Dean Kuwait University Language Centre since 1982 (Dir 1979-1982), Vice-Rector 1985-1991, Assist to the Dir Kuwait University for Community Services & Information, Editor-in-Chief of “Afaq” newspaper, Under-Sec (Higher Educ) Ministry of Education 1993, Dir-Gen of Education. FRAS (Lond.). Mbr Bd of Dirs of the Univ of Kuwait, the Kuwaiti National Council for Culture, the Arts & Literature, and the Higher Council for Education.
  • 1) H.E. Shaikha Mariam bint Jabir Al-‘Ali Al-Sabah. b. 1895 (d/o Shekha). m. at the Seif Palace, Kuwait, 17th May 1908, as his wife (sep.) H.H. Shaikh ‘Abdu’llah III bin Salim Al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait, GCMG, CIE, KStJ (b. 1895; d. at the Dasman Palace, Kuwait City, 24th November 1965), son of H.E. Shaikh Salim bin Mubarak Al-Sabah, Shaikh of Kuwait and dependencies, CSI. She d. at the Dasman Palace, Kuwait, 4th March 1983, having had issue, several children who died young – see below.
