1744 - [1783] Sayyid Ahmad bin Sa'id Al-Said, Imam of Oman, Imam of Oman. b. 1710, son of Sayyid Sa'id bin Muhammad bin Khalaf bin Mubarak Al-Said, educ. privately. Governor of Sohar under the Ya'rubi Imams. Elected as Imam, 1744. Deposed as temporal ruler by his son but not as Imam, January 1775. m. several wives, including (a) a relative of Muhammad bin Nasir al-Jabry. m. (b) Sayyida Ya'arubin bint Saif, daughter of Imam Saif II bin Sultan, of the former Yarubid Dynasty. He d. at the Fort of Rustaq, 15th December 1783 (bur. there), having had issue, nine sons and three daughters, including:
