GENEALOGY

1228 - 1250 Kunwar Shri Pratap [Deoraj], son of Kunwar Shri Maha Singh [Man Singh I], younger son of Rao Shri Udai Singh Chauhan, of Jalor. Founder of the Sirohi line, after whom the sept takes its name of Deora. He d. 1250, having had issue:

1250 - 1301 Rao Shri Vijayraji [Bijad], Rao Sahib of Mandar and Badgaon, son of Rao Deoraj. He succeeded his father as head of the sept ca. 1250, acquired Mandar (in Sirohi territory) and Badgaon (in Jodhpur), thus founding the basis of the Sirohi principality. He d. at Mandar, having had issue:

1301 - 1321 Rao Shri Lumbha, Rao of Arbudaranya, son of Rao Vijayraj and grandson of Rao Shri Deoraj, educ. privately. Succeeded his father as ruler of Mandar and Badgaon, 1301. He seized Mount Abu from Raja Hoon Parmar and established his rule over the region known as Arbudaranya (modern Sirohi) in 1311. Established his capital at Chandravati in 1320. He d. at Chandravati, 1321, having had issue:

1321 - 1336 Rao Shri Tej Singh, Rao Sahib of Arbudaranya, son of Rao Shri Lumbha, Rao of Arbudaranya, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1321. He d. at Chandravati, 1336, having had issue:

1336 - 1343 Rao Shri Kanhar Deo, Rao Sahib of Arbudaranya, son of Rao Shri Tej Singh, Rao Sahib of Arbudaranya, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1336. The construction of the famous Vashistha Temple took place during his reign, and his statute remains a prominent feature of the Achaleshwar Temple on Mount Abu. He d. 1343.

1347 - 1392 Rao Shri Rar Mal [Ran Mal], Rao Sahib of Arbudaranya, son of Rao Shri Salakha, Rao Sahib of Arbudaranya, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1347. Founded old Sirohi in 1347. Ancestor of the Lakhawat, Dungrawat, Tejawat and Bajawat clans in Sirohi. He had issue, two sons:

1392 - 1424 Rao Shri Shivbhan [Sheobhaji] [Sobha], Rao Sahib of Arbudaranya, elder son of Rao Shri Rar Mal, Rao Sahib of Arbudaranya, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1392. Founded a new capital at Shivpuri, in the Siranava Hills, in 1405. He d. at Shivpuri, 1424, having had issue:

1424 - 1451 Rao Shri Sahas Mal [Sainsmal], Rao Sahib of Sirohi, son of Rao Shri Shivbhan, Rao Sahib of Arbudaranya, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1424. Abandoned his capital at Shivpuri and founded a new capital at Sirohi in April 1425, from whence the state took that name. He drove out the Solankis from Mal Magra and greatly extended the size of his principality. He also gave refuge to Maharana Kumbha, on Mount Abu, in 1437 but he settled in and refused to leave, building the forts of Achalgarh and Basantgarh. He d. 1451, having had issue, a son:

1451 - 1483 Rao Shri Lakhaji, Rao Sahib of Sirohi, son of Rao Shri Sahas Mal, Rao Sahib of Sirohi, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1451. He entered into an alliance with Qutb ud-din and succeeded in finally expelling Maharana Kumbha and recovering Achalgarh, in 1457. He constructed the Kalika Maata Temple, the Lakhelav pond, and statue of Hanumana at Sarneshwar. He d. 1483, having had issue, six sons (ancestors of the Lakhawat families of Manadar, Nibaj, Rohera and Dalani):
