GENEALOGY
1792 - [1815] H.M. The
Most High King Solomoni II, by the will of our Lord, King
of Kings, Absolute Master, Sovereign and Dominator of the
Abkhazis, Ranians, Kakhetians and the Armenians,
Shirvanshah and Shahanshah, towards the East, the West,
the South and the North, and the two thrones and kingdoms
of Imereti and Amiereti *. b. 1773, as H.H. The
Most Brilliant Prince Davit, son of H.H. The Most
Brilliant Prince Archili, by his wife, H.H. The Most
Brilliant Princess Eleni, fourth daughter of H.M. The
Most Serene King Irakli II, King of Georgia. Raised to
the throne on the recommendation of King Irakli II of
Georgia, his maternal grandfather, as a compromise
candidate, in order to end the divisions that had
hitherto plagued the kingdom. Crowned under the title of
Solomoni II, at Kutais, 1792. Accepted a Russian
protectorate, 21st April 1804 o.s. His kingdom
being annexed in violation of the Treaty of Protection,
by the Russians, 20th February 1810. Fled to
Akhaltsikhe, in Turkish territory, when warned of a
Russian plan to kidnap and depose him, 11th
May 1810 o.s. Rcvd: Knt. of the Order of St
Alexander Nevski in brilliants (1803). m. 1791,
H.M. The Most High Queen Mariami (d.s.p.
at St Petersburg, 18th March 1841, bur.
St Alexander Nevski Convent), exiled to Russia in 1811,
eldest daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High
Rank Katsia II Dadiani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia, by
his first wife, H.H. The Most Brilliant Princess
Elizabed, youngest daughter of H.M. The Most High King
Taimuraz II, King of Kartli and Kakheti. He d. at
Trebizond, Turkey, 7th December 1815 o.s. (bur.
there at the Cathedral of St Gregory of Nyssa), having
