North, and the two thrones and kingdoms of Imereti and
Amiereti. An insignificant nobleman, he was proclaimed
King by his wife after she had engineered the deposition
of her stepson, King Bagrat IV, 1660. Deposed by Vameq
Dadiani and the great nobles with Turkish support, and
exiled to Akhaltsikhe, 1661. Restored by the Turkish
Pasha of Akhaltsikhe in favour of Vakhtang Jujuniashvili,

the deposition of her step-son and the proclamation of
