Maulana Paduka Sri Tuanku Sultan Muhammad Shahab ud-din Ri’ayat Shah Safiu’llah ibni al-Marhum Raja Inu Muhammad Saleh, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Perak, by his second wife, Y.A.M. Raja Mas Nuteh Meh Salama binti Raja Kasim, Raja Cik Puan Besar, only daughter of Y.M. Raja Kasim bin Raja Chulan, educ. privately. Appointed as Heir Apparent with the title of Tuanku Raja Muda, Wakil us-Sultan, Wazir ul-Azam, 1850. Succeeded, 20th March 1865. Installed 9th October 1865. m. (first) Y.M. Paduka Sri Tuanku Sultan Ahmad Shah Johan Berdaulat Khalifatu’llah ibni al-Marhum Sultan ‘Abdu’l Malik Mu’azzam Shah Jamalu’llah, Yang di-Pertuan Muda. m. (fifth) Putri Long binti Megat ‘Abbas (m. second, Ishak, by whom she had further issue, one son and two daughters), daughter of Megat ‘Abbas bin To’ Muda Zainal, by his wife Ngah Raisah, daughter of Pak Usu Nanik Tepus. m. (a?) Ngah Jamilah binti Kanda Jenal (m. second, Tun Muhammad Aleh bin Kanda Alang Rustam, by whom she left one son). He d. at the house of Cik Rajab at Kuala Manora, Sayong, 26th May 1871 (bur. there at Gedong Siam), having had issue, four sons and two daughters:

1871 - 1874 H.H. al-Mastur Bsetriu’llah al-Jamil Paduka Sri Tuanku Sultan Ismail Mu’ab ud-din Ri’ayat Shah ibni al-Marhum Sayyid Sheikh al-Khairat [Marhum Mangkat di-Sekudai], Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Perak Dar ul-Ridzwan, son of Y.M. Raja ‘Abdu’l-Rahman, of Siak, Sayyid Shaikh ul-Amin, by his wife, Y.A.M. Raja Mandak binti al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad ud-din Shah, younger daughter of H.H. Maulana Paduka Sri Tuanku Sultan Ahmad ud-din Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Shah Aminu’llah, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Perak. Raised to the title of Raja Bendahara 1850. Appointed as Heir Apparent with the title of Tuanku Raja Muda, Wakil us-Sultan, Wazir ul-Azam, 9th October 1865. Proclaimed as Sultan, 26th May 1871. Installed at Kuala Kangsar, 28th June 1871. Deposed by the Treaty of Pangkor and was granted a pension and the personal title of Sultan Muda, 20th January 1874. Exiled to Singapore and later to Johor. m. (first) (div.) Y.M. Raja Teh Sharifa binti Raja Sayyid Hasan, former wife of H.H. al-Matukkal Billah ul-Jali Paduka Sri Tuanku Sultan ‘Ali al-Mukammil Inayat Shah Nabiu’llah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Shahab ud-din Ri’ayat Shah Safiu’llah, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Perak Dar ul-Ridzwan, and of Sultan Muda Ngah, and daughter of Y.M. Raja Ngah Daha Sayyid Hasan bin Ahmad, by his wife, a daughter of Sayyid Ja’afar. m. (second) Y.M. Raja Fatima binti Raja Daud, daughter of Y.A.M. Raja Daud bin Raja ‘Ali, Raja Kechil Besar, by his second wife, Che’ Long Halima binti Inche Muhammad. He d. at Sekudai, Johor, 4th September 1889 (bur. at the Royal Cemetery, Mahmoodiah, Johor Bahru), having had issue, one son and two daughters:
