1722 - 1739 H.H. Wakil-i-Mutlaq, Burhan ul-Mulk, Itimad ud-Daula, Nawab Sa’adat Khan Bahadur, Shaukat Jung, Nawab of Oudh. b. at Naishapur, Khorassan, Persia, ca. 1680, as Mir Muhammad Amin, second son of Mir Muhammad Nasir, by his wife, a daughter of Mirza Raza Quli Beg Qizilbash, sometime Wazir to Shah Abbas II of Persia, educ. privately. Migrated to India, 1709. Entered the Mughal service and appointed Mir Manzil (Camp Superintendent) to Nawab Sarbuland Khan 1710-1712, Revenue Cmsnr Hindaun & Bianu 1716-1720. Appointed to an Imperial mansab of 1,000 sowar in the Walashahi Household Cavalry Regt. 1713, prom. to 5,000 zat and 3,000 sowar 9/10/1720, prom. to 7,000 zat and 7,000 sowar 15/10/1720. Granted the title of Sa’adat Khan Bahadur 9th October 1720, and prom. to Bahadur, Burhan ul-Mulk and Shaukat Jung together with the insignia of royalty 20th November 1720. Captain of the Imperial Bodyguard 12th January 1721. Naib Karori 1715-1716, Faujdar of Hinduan and Biana 6th October 1719-1720, Subadar of Agra (Akbarabad) and Faujdar of Farrukhabad, Etawa and Jalaun 15th October 1720-1st September 1722, Subadar of Oudh and Faujdar of Gorakhpur, 9th September 1722, Faujdar of Kora Jahanabad 1735. Invested as Vicegerent of the Empire with the title of Waqil-i-Mutlaq by the Emperor Nadir Shah of Persia, 6th March 1739. A distinguished Persian poet under the pen-name ‘Amin’. m. (first) at Naishapur, Khorassan, Persia, before 1706, a daughter of his uncle, Mirza Muhammad Yusuf. m. (second) at Delhi, 1709, a daughter (d.s.p. soon after her marriage) of Ashraf ‘Ali Khan Bahadur, a military officer in the Imperial army. m. (third) at Delhi, 1710, a daughter of Sayyid Talib Muhammad Khan Asaf Jahi. m. (fourth) at Agra, 1720, Riti Begum Sahiba, daughter of Nawab Muhammad Taqi Khan Bahadur, sometime Subadar of Agra. m. (fourth, or one of the above?), a daughter of Khwaja Zachariah, a descendant of Khwaja Ahrar. m. (a) Khanum Sahiba, a former slave girl from the household of Sayyid Talib Muhammad Khan, presented to him in the dower of the latter’s daughter. He d. (probably by taking poison) at the house of Shahzada Dara Shukoh, at Delhi, 19th March 1739 (bur. Mausoleum of Sayadat Khan, Delhi), having had issue, one son and five daughters:
