1852 - 1895 H.H. Maharajadhiraj Maharaja Jam Shri Sir Vibhaji Ranmalsinhji Jadeja, Maharaja Jam Sahib of Nawanagar, KCSI (1.1.1877). b. at Jamnagar, 8th May 1827, fifth and eldest surviving son of H.H. Maharajadhiraj Jam Shri Ranmalsinhji Sataji Jadeja [Ranmalji Sahib], Jam Sahib of Nawanagar, by his second wife, H.H. Rani Shri Soniba Kunverba Sahiba, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 22nd February 1852. Granted a permanent salute of 11-guns 1866. Attended the Imperial Delhi at Durbar and was granted a personal salute of 15-guns ad the personal title of Maharaja, 1st January 1877. Rcvd: Prince of Wales's gold medal (1875), and KIH gold medal (1877). m. twenty-two wives including (first) H.H. Maharani Shri Majiba Kunverba Sahib, daughter Wadhel Abhaysinhji, of Aramra. m. (second) at the Diwankhana Palace, Dhrangadhra, H.H. Maharani Shri Tejiba Kunverba Sahiba (d. at Jamnagar, before 1879), fifth daughter of H.H. Shri Shaktimant Jhaladap Mahamandleshwar Maharana Shri Amarsinhji Raisinhji Sahib, Raj Sahib of Dhrangadhra, by his fourth wife, H.H. Raniji Shri Ram Kunverba Sahib, daughter of a Waghela of Kuna, near Ahmedabad. m. (third) H.H. Maharani Shri Maghiba Kunverba Sahiba (d. before 1879), daughter of Maharana Raj Shri Wakhtsinhji Sahib, Maharana Raj Sahib of Wankaner. m. (fourth) H.H. Maharani Shri Adiba Kunverba Sahib, daughter of Sodha Hamirji of Nawanagar. (fifth) H.H. Maharani Shri Kasuliba Kunverba Sahiba (d. before 1879), eldest daughter of Rana Shri Lakhoba Jhala of Bellara, in Limbdi State. m. (sixth) H.H. Maharani Shri Phuliba Kunverba Sahib, daughter of Wala Girasia Khoraji, of Godhethal, in Gondal. m. (seventh) 1878, H.H. Maharani Shri Sujaba Kunverba Sahib, daughter of Thakore Shri Motisinhji Sahib, Thakore Sahib of Varsoda, in Maha Kanthia. m. (eighth) H.H. Maharaj Raol Shri Akherajji IV Jaswantsinhji Bhavsinhji Sahib, Thakore Sahib of Bhavnagar. m. (eleventh) at Wadhwan, H.H. Maharani Shri Vakhtuba Kunverba Sahiba (d. at Jamnagar, March 1896), daughter of H.H. Maharana Thakore Shri Rajsinhji Jhala Sahib, Maharana of Wadhwan. m. (twelfth) H.H. Maharani Shri Bai Kunverba Sahiba (d. before 1879), eldest daughter of Meherban Dostan Thakore Shri Kesharisinghji Sensabhai Sahib, Thakore Sahib of Sayla. m. (thirteenth) H.H. Maharani Shri Bajibai Kunverba Sahib, another daughter of Sodha Hamirji of Nawanagar. He also m. several junior wives including (a) at Jamnagar, 4th October 1855 (by Gandhava-vivah or semi-morganatic rites) Ba Shri Dhanbai Sahib (d. after 1882), daughter of Suphianee, of the Suffian tribe, a Muslim Sindhi resident of Nagpur. m. (b) at Jamnagar, after 1855 (morganatic) Ba Shri Nathiba Sahib (d. after 1882), sister of Dhanbai and daughter of Suphianee, a Muslim of the Suffian tribe, a Sindhi resident of Nagpur. m. (c) at Jamnagar, after 1855 (morganatic) Ba Shri Janbai Sahib (d. after 1882), sister of Dhanbai, and daughter of Suphianee, of the Suffian tribe, a Muslim Sindhi resident of Nagpur. m. (d) at Jamnagar, after 1855 (morganatic) Ba Shri Walbai Sahib (d. after 1882), sister of Dhanbai and daughter of Suphianee, of the Suffian tribe, a Sindhi resident of Nagpur. m. (e) at Jamnagar, after 1855 (morganatic), Ba Shri Ratanbai Sahib (d. at Jamnagar, 1895), another Muslim lady. He d. at Jamnagar, 28th April 1895 (succ. by his younger son), having had surviving issue, two sons and two daughters:
  • 1) Rajkumar Shri Bhimsinhji Vibhaji Sahib [Kalubha]. b. at Jamnagar, 4th November 1856 (s/o Dhanbai Sahib), educ. privately. Chief Judge of the Civil Court 1874-1877. Recognized as Heir Apparent, 17th July 1877. Excluded from the succession, together with all his descendants, for attempting to assassinate his own father, 24th October 1877. Exiled to Ahmadnagar. m. eight wives, including (first) at Jamnagar, 1867, Rani Shri Sadaba Kunverba Sahib. m. (second) Rani Shri Jambai Kunverba Sahib. He d. a state prisoner, at Ahmadnagar,  1878, having had issue, one son:
    • a) Kumar Shri Lakhasinhji Bhimsinhji Sahib [Lakhubha Kalaba Jadeja], of Mannagar. b. at the Royal Palace, Jamnagar, 18th November 1872 (s/o Jambai Kunverba), educ. Rajkumar Coll., Rajkot. Rcvd: Coron. medal (1911). m. at Liverpool, Lancs., 1898, Florence Kate (b. 1874; d. at Birkenhead, Cheshire, 1903), née Crawford. He d. at Paris, France, 2nd May 1938, having had issue, one son and two daughters:

      • i) Florence Violet May Jadeja [Princess Violette Jadéja]. b. at West Derby, Lancs., 2nd May 1899. Artist and book illustrator. Author and illustrator of “De-ci de-là, cahin-caha” (1933), “A la Recherche des Etoiles Roses” (1934), “Yann” (1940), “Loulouba” (1944),”Aventures de Pirouli, le petit nègre” (1946), “Contes pour faire rêver les petits et les grands” (1953), “Kantjil, L'enfant De Sumatra” (1957), etc. m. 1922, … She d. at Paris, France, after 1957.
      • ii) Doreen Tyrer Jadeja. b. at Birkenhead, Cheshire, 1901.
  • 2) Maharajkumar Shri Jaswantsinhji Vibhaji Sahib, who succeeded as H.H. Maharajadhiraj Jam Shri Jaswantsinhji Vibhaji Jadeja [Jasaji Sahib], Jam Sahib of Nawanagar(s/o Janbai Sahib) - see below.
  • 1) Maharajkumari Ba Shri Rupaliba Kunverba Sahiba (d/o Dhanbai Sahib). She d. unm.
  • 2) Maharajkumari Ba Shri Bairajba Kunverba Sahiba [H.H. Maharani Dadiji Shri Jarechiji Kanwar Baiji Sahib] (d/o Majiba Kunverba). m. 1852, H.H. Raj Rajeshwar Saramad-i-Rajha-i-Hindustan Maharajadhiraja Maharaja Shri Sir Jaswant Singhji II Sahib Bahadur, Maharaja of Jodhpur, GCSI (b. at Ahmadnagar, 1837, d. at Jodhpur, 11th October 1895), H.H. Raj Rajeshwar Saramad-i-Rajha-i- Hindustan Maharajadhiraja Maharaja Shri Sir Takht Singhji Sahib Bahadur, Maharaja of Jodhpur, GCSI by his wife H.H. the Ranawatiji Maharani Sri Maji Sahib. She d. at Jodhpur, 4th March 1912 - see India (Jodhpur).
H.H. Maharajadhiraj Maharaja Jam Shri Sir Vibhaji Ranmalsinhji Jadeja had also adopted two sons as his heirs before the birth of his own sons:
  • 3)  Maharajkumar Shri Raisinhji Vibhaji Sahib. b. at Sarodar, 1876, as Kumar Shri Umedsinhji Jivansinhji Sahib, fourth son of Kumar Shri Jivansinhji Jhalamsinhji Jadeja, of Sarodar. Adopted by Maharaja Jam Shri Sir Vibhaji, renamed and invested as Heir Apparent, at the Darbargarh, Jamnagar, 23rd March 1878. He d. at Sarodar, 23rd September 1878.
  • 4) Rajkumar Shri Ranjitsinhji Jivansinhji Sahib, who later succeeded as H.H. Maharajadhiraj Maharaja Jam Shri Sir Ranjitsinhji Vibhaji Jadeja [Rawalji II Vibhaji Sahib], Maharaja Jam Sahib of Nawanagar - see below.

1895 - 1906 H.H. Maharajadhiraj Jam Shri Jaswantsinhji Vibhaji Jadeja [Jasaji Sahib], Jam Sahib of Nawanagar. b. at Jamnagar, 11th October 1882, younger son of H.H. Maharajadhiraj Maharaja Jam Shri Sir Vibhaji Ranmalsinhji Jadeja, Maharaja Jam Sahib of Nawanagar, KCSI, by his morganatic wife, Ba Shri Janbai Kunverba Sahib, educ. Rajkumar Coll., Rajkot. Recognised as Heir Apparent by special dispensation of the Government of India, April 1885. Succeeded on the death of his father, 28th April 1895. Ascended the gadi, at the Durbargarh, Jamnagar, 10th May 1895. Reigned under a Council of Regency until he came of age. Invested with full ruling powers, at Jamnaar, 19th March 1903. Attended the Coronation Durbar at Delhi in 1903. Rcvd: Delhi Durbar gold medal (1903). m. seven wives including (first) H.H. Maharani Shri Achubha Kunverba Sahiba. m. (second) H.H. Maharani Shri Kashiba Kunverba Sahiba. m. (third) 12th February 1901, H.H. Maharani Shri Majiba [Moghiba] Kunverba Sahiba, daughter of Thakore Shri Kishorsinhji Motisinhji Chawda, Thakore Sahib of Varsoda, by his second wife, Thakurani Shri Gulabjiba Kunverba Sahiba. He d.s.p. from typhoid, at Rajkot, 14th August 1906 (crem. at Jamnagar) (succ. by his adoptive brother).
