1847 - 1856 H.H. Shrimant Maharaja Ganpatrao Gaekwad, Sena Khas Khel Shamsher Bahadur, Maharaja of Baroda. b. at Baroda, 1816, eldest son of H.H. Shrimant Rajashri Maharaja Sayajirao II Gaekwad, Sena Khas Khel Shamsher Bahadur, Maharaja of Baroda, by his first wife, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Chimnabai Sahib Gaekwad, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 28th December 1847. Ascended the gadi at the Dewankhana, Baroda, 17th January 1848. m. (first) at Baroda, 8th May 1827, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Bujubai Sahib Gaekwad (d. at Baroda, before 1875), daughter of Shrimant Sardar Malharrao Kale, Silledar. m. (second) at Baroda, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Guzrabai Sahib Gaekwad (d. at Baroda, before 1875). m. (third) at Baroda, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Nurbudhabai Sahib Gaekwad (d. at Baroda, before 1875). m. (fourth) at Baroda, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Radhabai Sahib Gaekwad (d.s.p. at Baroda, 16th December 1902), née Nimbalkar. He d. at Baroda, 19th November 1856, having had issue, three sons and nine daughters:
1856 - 1870 H.H. Shrimant Maharaja Sir Khanderao II Gaekwad, Sena Khas Khel Shamsher Bahadur, Maharaja of Baroda*, GCSI (25.6.1861). b. at Baroda, 1828, third son of H.H. Shrimant Rajashri Maharaja Sayajirao II Gaekwad, Sena Khas Khel Shamsher Bahadur, Maharaja of Baroda, by his first wife, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Chimnabai Sahib Gaekwad, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his eldest brother, 19th November 1856. Ascended the gadi at the Dewankhana, Baroda, 12th December 1856. Received a sanad of adoption, 11th March 1862. m. (first) at Baroda, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Ambabai Sahib Gaekwad (d. at Baroda, before 1873), granddaughter of Shrimant Sardar Lakshmanrao Mahadik. m. (second) at Baroda, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Savitribai Sahib Gaekwad. m. (third) at Baroda, 1866, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Jamnabai Sahib Gaekwad, CI (1.1.1878) (b. 1853; d. at Sarkarwada Palace, Baroda, 29th November 1898), Regent for her adopted son 19th April 1875 - 28th December 1881, rcvd: Prince of Wales’s gold medal (1875), daughter of Shrimant Sardar Madhavrao Babujirao Puar, Vishwasrao Bahadur, of Supa, in Dewas. m. (fourth) at Baroda, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Rahamabai Sahib Gaekwad [Rakhma Bai] (d. at Baroda, 24th May 1890). He d. at Makarpura Palace, Baroda, 28th November 1870, having had issue, four sons and three daughters:

1870 - 1875 H.H. Shrimant Maharaja Malharrao Gaekwad, Sena Khas Khel Shamsher Bahadur, Maharaja of Baroda. b. at Baroda, 1831, sixth and youngest son of H.H. Shrimant Rajashri Maharaja Sayajirao II Gaekwad, Sena Khas Khel Shamsher Bahadur, Maharaja of Baroda, by his second wife, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Girzabai Sahib Gaekwad, educ. privately. Installed as Regent at the Durbarkhana, Baroda, 28th November 1870, on the death of his elder half-brother, pending the determination of the gender of his brother’s posthumous child was known. Ascended the gadi, 5th July 1871. Recognized by the GOI and formally installed as undisputed ruler, at Nazar Bagh, Baroda, 10th August 1871. Suspended for the attempted poisoning of the British Resident, 13th January 1875. Deposed for gross misrule and tyranny by order of the Secretary of State for India, 19th April and exiled to Madras, 22nd April 1875. m. (first) at Baroda, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Bhaghubai Sahib Gaekwad (d. before, 1875), sister of Shrimant Sardar Shivajirao Khanvilkar [Nana Sahib], Pratinidhi Bahadur, sometime Chief Minister of Baroda State. m. (second) at Baroda, 16th March 1871, H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharani Mhalsabai Sahib Gaekwad (d. at Navsari, 11th August 1903), sister of Shrimant Sardar Ellojirao Mohite. m. (third) at Navsari, 7th May 1874, in an irregular union, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Parvatibai Sahib Gaekwad [Lakshmi Bai] (d. 1916), forcibly taken from her legal husband, daughter of Rama Dos. He d. at Madras, 1882, having had issue, one son and two daughters:
