General The Most Excellent Prince Katzo [Katsia] Chikovani, Prince of Lechkhumi [Lechkhumi-batoni], Prince of Sainadaridzo, Salipartiano, etc. An aznaur of senior rank, holding Gord in fief, he rose to high rank in the Imeratian army and became General-in-Chief. Raised to the titles of Mtavari and Lechkhumi-batoni, Salipartano and Salnassarido in fief by Prince Levanti III, ca. 1675. m. (first) ca. 1675, The Most Excellent Princess Thamar, daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Levanti III Dadiani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia or of Giorgi Abashidze. m. (second) ca. 1677, H.M. The Most High Queen Thamar (m. third, at Kutaisi, Imereti, March 1685, H.M. The Most High King Giorgi VI Abashidze, King of Imereti; and d. ca. 1699), former wife of H.M. The Most High King Giorgi III Gurieli, née Kakhaberidze-Chijavadze, by whom he had issue two children. 1) The Most Excellent Prince Jesse Chikovani, Prince of Lechkhumi [Lechkhumi-batoni] (s/o Princess Thamar). Succeeded his father at Lechkhumi, 1681. Expelled by his brother Giorgi, 1704. m. ca. 1703, Princess Mariami (m. second, 1709, His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Koshita III Orbeliani, Duke of Radsha, and d. 1726), daughter of H.M. Bagrat IV, King of Imereti. He d. at Sajawakho, 1709, having had issue, a son:
- a) Giorgi Chukolanu Dadiani. Emigrated to Russia in 1725. Ancestor of the Princes Chikovani of Russia and Rumania.
2) The Most Excellent Prince Giorgi Chikovani, Prince of Salipartiano [Giorgi Lipartian II], who succeeded as His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Giorgi IV Chikovani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia (s/o Queen Thamar) - see below.
3) Otia Chikovani (s/o Queen Thamar).
4) Iossif Chikovani (s/o Queen Thamar).

1691 - 1715 His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Giorgi IV Chikovani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia, second son of General The Most Excellent Prince Katzo [Katsia] Chikovani, Prince of Lechkhumi, by his second wife, H.M. The Most High Queen Thamar. Succeeded his father as Prince of Salipartiano, 1681. Succeeded on the enforced abdication of Levanti IV, 1691. Seized Sadchilao and Samikeliao 1703, and expelled his younger brother from Lechkhumi 1704. Deposed by King Giorgi VI of Imereti. m. 2) Princess Khwaramzi. m. 1707, Prince Zurabi Abashidze (d. after 1748), sometime Governor of Sverska, eldest son of Prince Paata Abashidze. She had issue - see Georgia (Abashidze).
3) A daughter. m. Prince Kaku Pagava.

1704 - 1710 His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Katsia I Dadiani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia, eldest son of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Giorgi IV Chikovani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia, by his first wife, a sister of Prince Giorgi Mikeladze. Raised to the throne by his father in 1704. He d. young, 1710.

1715 - 1728 His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Bejan I Dadiani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia, second son of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Giorgi IV Chikovani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia, by his first wife, a sister of Prince Giorgi Mikeladze. Granted Lechkhumi as his apanage, by his father, 1704. Installed as Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia by King Giorgi VI of Imereti, 1715. m. Her Splendour The Pious Princess of High Rank Thamar Dadiani, née Gelovani. He was k. by the Turks led by Yusuf Pasha, at Akhaitzykin, 1728, having had issue, six sons and three daughters:

1) His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Otia IV Dadiani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia - see below.
2) Prince Beri Dadiani.
3) Prince Katzo-Giorgi Dadiani. Imprisoned by his brother Otia in 1728-1734. He d. 1735, having had issue:

  - i) Princess Darejan [H.M. The Most Serene Queen Daria Igorovna]. b. 20^th July 1738. Became a nun in 1798. The Most Serene King Irakli II, King of Kartli and Kakheti (b. at Telavi, Kakheti, 7^th October 1721 o.s.; d. there, from dropsy, 12^th January 1798 o.s. (bur. Mtskheta, Kartli), eldest son of H.M. The Most High King Taimuraz II, King of Kartli and Kakheti, by his second wife, H.M. The Most High Queen Thamar II, Queen of Georgia, daughter of H.M. The Most High King Vakhtang VI, King of Kartli. She d. at St Petersburg, Russia, 8^th November 1807 o.s. (bur. Church of the Annunciation, Alexander Nevsky Monastery), having had issue, two daughters - see Georgia (Kakheti).
5) His Beatitude Prince Antoni Dadiani. Archbishop of Chqondidel as Gavril II. He d. 1801/1815 (bur. Convent of the Annunciation).
