1631 – 1666 Sharif Zeid bin Muhsin, Grand Sharif of Mecca. b. at Wadi Bisha, October 1607, son of Sharif Muhsin I bin Husain, Sharif of Mecca, educ. at Sana’a, Yemen. Invited to return from exile in the Yemen and appointed as Deputy Sharif by his cousin early 1631. Fled to Medina after the battle of Wadi al-Abar, 18th March 1632. Installed at the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. He d. at Mecca, July 1666, having had issue, four sons (ancestor of the Bani Zeid clain):

1759 – 1760 Sharif Ja’afar bin Said, Grand Sharif of Mecca, seventh son of Sharif Said II, Grand Sharif of Mecca. Succeeded on the deposition of his brother, 24th August 1759 but was removed, January 1760. He d. 1764.

1752 – 1759 & 1760 – 1770 Sharif Masa’ad bin Said II, Grand Sharif of Mecca, fifth son of Sharif Said II, Grand Sharif of Mecca. Succeeded his brother, 18th February 1752. Deposed 24th August 1759, but re-appointed January 1760. He d. at Mecca, 23rd May 1770, having had issue, seven sons:
  • 1) H.H. Sharif Surur bin Masa’ad, Grand Sharif of Mecca – see below.
  • 2) Sharif Masud bin Masa’ad. He had issue, one son:
    • a) Sharif Masarsquo;ad bin Masud. He d.s.p.
  • 3) H.H. Sharif ‘Abdu’l Muin bin Masa’ad, Grand Sharif of Mecca – see below.
  • 4) Sharif ‘Abdu’l Aziz bun Masa’ad.
  • 5) H.H. Sharif Ghalib bin Masa’ad, Grand Sharif of Mecca – see below.
  • 6) Sharif Luwai bin Masa’ad. Governor of Nejd in 1797.

1770 Sharif Ahmad bin Said, Grand Sharif of Mecca, ninth son of Sharif Said II, Grand Sharif of Mecca. Installed, 23rd May 1770. Expelled from Mecca, 12th July 1770. Retreated to Taif and later to Lith. Raised an army and took Mecca with the help of the Thuqaif tribe in October 1770, and expelled again, later that same month. He d. at Jedda, 1781.

1770 – 1773 Sharif ‘Abdu’llah IV bin Husain, Grand Sharif of Mecca, son of Sharif Husain bin Yahya, and grand son of Sharif Yahya I, Grand Sharif of Mecca. Installed at Mecca, 12th July 1770. Deposed by his cousin, Sharif Surur, 5th February 1773. Exiled 1779. He d. at Izmir, Turkey, 1788, having had issue, a son:
  • 1) Sharif Sharaf bin ‘Abdu’llah. He had issue, a son:
    • d) Sharif Muhammad Abu Nomay bin Sharaf. He had issue, a son:
      • i) Sharif ‘Ali bin Muhammad Abu Nomay. He had issue, a son:
