1859 – 1873 H.M. Sultan Sidi Muhammad IV bin ‘Abdu’l-Rahman, Sultan of Morocco. b. 1803, second son of H.M. Sultan ‘Abu Zaid Mulay ‘Abdu’l-Rahman bin Hisham, Sultan of Morocco, etc, by his first wife, H.H. Lalla Halima bint Sulaiman, daughter of H.M. Sultan Abu ar-Rabi Mulay Sulaiman bin Muhammad, Sultan of Morocco, educ. privately. Khalifa of Marakesh during his father’s reign. Proclaimed on the death of his father, 28th August 1859. Enthroned at the Dar al-Makhzin, Marrakesh, 1st September 1859. m. (first) a daughter of al-Arabi al-Jama’ai. m. (second) Lalla Ahniya, daughter of Haji ‘Abdu’l-Kabir al-‘Arusiya. m. (third ) H.H. Lalla Safia bint Maimun, daughter of Sharif Mulay Maimun bin Muhammad. m. (fourth) Lalla Khadija [Lalla bint Sidi]. He d. at the Palace of Ennil, Marrakesh, 16th September 1873 (bur. at the Tomb of Mulay ‘Ali as-Sharif, Rissani, Tafilalt), having had issue, including seventeen sons and two daughters:
