November 1908, as Shrimant Yeshwantrao Bhujangrao Ghorpade, elder son of Shrimant Sardar Bhujangrao Yeshwantrao Raje Ghorpade [Appa Sahib], Jagirdar of Gajendragad, by his wife, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Tarabai Sahib Ghorpade, educ. Baldwin High Sch,
Bangalore, Holkar Coll, Indore, and Allahabad Univ. Selected by the Government of India to succeed his cousin, 5th May 1928. Formally installed on the gadi with the name and title of Shrimant Maharaj Shri Yeshwantrao Hindurao
Ghorpade, Hindurao, Mamlukatmadar Senapati, at Sandur, 20th June 1928. Reigned under an Administrator until he came of age and was invested with full ruling powers, 5th February 1930. Introduced a bicameral state legislature in 1931, outlawed untouchability and granted equal access to places of worship in 1932, reformed the judicial system and organised debt relief in 1936. Signed the instrument of accession to the Dominion of India, 10th August 1947. Merged his state with Madras 1949, which was subsequently transferred to Mysore State 1st November 1956. Hon Maj IA 1962, Hon ADC to the Presdt of India 1962-1967. MLA for Sandur in the Mysore state assembly 1967-1971. The Government of India amended the Indian Constitution to remove his position as a "ruler" and his right to receive privy-purse payments, 28th December 1971. Allahabad Convent Sch and in England, MEC of Sandur 1947, Dir Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd until 2010, Mbr National Council of Women in India, eldest daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Umdat ul-Mulk, Raj Rajendra Shrimant Sardar Malojirao Narsinhrao Shitole [Bala Sahib], Desmukh, Rustam Jang Bahadur, of Pohari, under Gwalior, by his wife, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Lakshmibai Shitole. He d. at Shiva Vilas, Sandur, 11th October 1996, having had issue, six sons and two daughters:

Sandur High Sch, St Joseph’s Coll (BA 1950), Bangalore, and Cambridge Univ (MA Econ 1952). Presdt Sandur Town Panchayat and Co-op Soc 1958, MLA for Sandur in the Karnataka state assembly 1959-1977 & 1990-2004, State Minister for Finance 1972-1977, and for Rural Development & Panchayats 1990-2003, MP (Lok Sabha) for Raichur 1986-1990. Succeeded on the death of his father as Head of the Royal House of Sandur, 11th October 1996. Farzand-i-Khas-i-Daulat-i-Inglishia, Shrimant Maharaja Sir Pratapsinhrao Gaekwad, Sena Khas Khel Shamsher Bahadur, Maharaja of Baroda, GCIE, by his first wife, H.H. Maharani Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Shantadevi Sahib, daughter of Meherban Shrimant Sardar Mansinhrao Suhrao Ghorpade [Appa Sahib], of Hasur, in Kolhapur state. He d. From heart failure at the Mahveer Jain Hospital, Bangalore, 29th October 2011 (crem. at Chatribagh, Sandur), having had issue, three sons and one daughter:
