1792 - 1843 Mushfiq Meherban-i-Dostan Nawab Akbar Muhammad Khan, Nawab of Kurwai, eldest son of Walashan Nawab Muhammad Hurmut Khan Bahadur, Nawab of Kurwai, by his first wife, Khair un-nisa Begum Sahiba, daughter of Nawab Muhammad Nasir ud-din Haider, educ. privately. Seized the musnaid after the death of his father, 1792. Contested the succession with his half brother and his paternal uncles. Became tributary to the HEIC 1817, and was confirmed in his possessions 7th December 1820. m. (first) ..., who only had daughters. m. (second) ... m. (third) Nawab Shiraz Zaman Begum Sahiba [Shahzadi Begum], youngest daughter of Nawab Bakaru’llah Khan, Nawab of Basoda. He d. at Serhore, 1843 (bur. at the family cemetery outside the Fort), having had issue, two sons and two daughters:

1843 - 1858 Mushfiq Meherban-i-Dostan Nawab Muzaffar Muhammad Khan, Nawab of Kurwai, elder son of Mushfiq Meherban-i-Dostan Nawab Akbar Muhammad Khan, Nawab of Kurwai, by his second wife, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father 1843. He d. at Kurwai Fort, before 11th August 1858 (bur. at the family cemetery outside the Fort), having had issue), having had issue, an only surviving daughter:

Copyright© V&A Image Library1858 - 1887  Mushfiq Meherban-i-Dostan Nawab Najaf Muhammad Khan, Nawab of Kurwai. b. at Kurwai Fort, before 18th September 1822, younger son of Mushfiq Meherban-i-Dostan Nawab Akbar Muhammad Khan, Nawab of Kurwai, by his third wife, Nawab Shiraz Zaman Begum Sahiba [Shahzadi Begum], youngest daughter of Nawab Bakaru’llah Khan, Nawab of Basoda, educ. privately. Granted Mehboobpur in jagir by his elder half-brother, following the intervention of the British authorities. He served with distinction during the Indian Mutiny 1857-1858 by defeating and expelling the Bandila tribesmen who had seized Lahira. Nominated as Heir Apparent by his brother, on his deathbed, 1858. Installed as Nawab with full ruling powers, at Kurwai Fort, 1859 (with effect from 1858). Granted a personal salute of 9-guns 25th January 1886. Khalifa of the Qadiria branch of Sufi Order. A devout and religious man, he spent much time of meditation and prayer, eschewed tobacco, beetle and other stimulants, the use reclining on cushions, soft bedding, rich foods and expensive apparel. Rcvd: KIH gold medal (1877). m. Ladli Begum Sahiba, daughter of Nawab Ahmad Quli Khan Bahadur, Nawab of Muhammadgarh, by his wife, Makhdum Bibi Sahiba, sometime Regent of Muhammadgarh. He d. at Kurwai Fort, 15th January 1887 (bur. beside Ghungru Shah, at the Ziaratwali Masjid Cemetery, Kurwai) (succ. by his grandson), having had issue, three sons and one daughter:

1887 - 1896 Mushfiq Meherban-i-Dostan Nawab Muhammad Munawar ‘Ali Khan, Nawab of Kurwai. b. at Kurwai Fort, 1869, second and eldest surviving son of Nawabzada Mazhar ‘Ali Khan Khan Bahadur, of Basoda, sometime Administrator of the state of Kurwai, by his wife, Nawab Karamat uz-Zamani Begum Sahiba, eldest daughter and heiress of Mushfiq Meherban-i-Dostan Nawab Najaf Muhammad Khan Bahadur, Nawab of Kurwai, educ. privately. Appointed as Heir Apparent by his maternal grandfather, 1874 (recognised by the Government of India). Succeeded on his death, 15th January 1887. Reigned under the administration of his natural father, until he came of age and was invested with full ruling powers, at Kurwai Fort, 1892. The state was placed under the direct control of the Government of India due to maladministration, and a Superintendent appointed to carry out the government 1896. m. at Malerkotla, 1892, Nawab Sarkar Dulhan Umar un-nisa Begum Sahiba [Sarkansa] [Sarkar Amma] (m. second, at Kurwai Fort, 2nd November 1897, Mushfiq Meherban-i-Dostan Nawab Muhammad Yaqub ‘Ali Khan, Nawab of Kurwai - see below), daughter of H.H. Nawab Muhammad Ibrahim ‘Ali Khan Bahadur, Nawab of Malerkotla. He d. from grief over the loss of his only son, at Kurwai Fort, 10th September 1896 (bur. there at the family cemetery outside the Fort) (succ. by his younger brother), having had issue, an only son:

Appointed as Heir Presumptive by his elder brother, May 1896. Succeeded on his death, 10th September 1896. Installed on the musnaid and invested with full ruling powers, at Kurwai Fort, 11th December 1896. Reigned under the direct control of a Superintendent appointed by of the Government of India 10th September 1896-October 1904. Invested with full ruling powers, at Kurwai Fort, October 1904. Rcvd: Delhi Durbar gold (1903) medal. m. at Kurwai Fort, 2nd November 1897 (nikah), Nawab Sarkar Dulhan Umar un-nisa Begum Sahiba [Sarkansa] [Sarkar Amma] (d. at Kurwai Fort, December 1963, bur. New Cemetery, Kurwai Fort), Regent for her only son 1st October 1906-9th April 1923, Sec for Revenue & Agriculture 1923, rcvd: Silver Jubilee (1935), and Coron (1937) medals, widow of his elder brother, Mushfiq Meherban-i-Dostan Nawab Munawar ‘Ali Khan, Nawab of Kurwai, and second daughter of H.H. Nawab Muhammad Ibrahim ‘Ali Khan Bahadur, Nawab of Malerkotla.
