'Ali Khan Bahadur, Nawab of Malerkotla, KCSI (3.6.1915),
KCIE (1.1.1921). b. 10th September
1881, second but eldest surviving son of H.H. Nawab
Muhammad Ibrahim 'Ali Khan Bahadur, Nawab of Malerkotla, educ.
Aitchison Coll., Lahore. Superintendent of the state
administration 1st January 1903-1905, Regent
from 1st February 1905 until his accession.
Succeeded on the death of his father, 23rd
August 1908. Ascended the musnaid 24th
September 1908. Installed by the Lieutenant-Governor of
the Punjab, in person, at the Sheesh Mahal Palace,
Malekotla, 5th January 1909. Hon. Maj. IA
14/6/1916, prom. Hon. Lieut-Col. 31/12/1919. Signed the
instrument of accession to the Dominion of India,
September 1947. Rcvd: Delhi Durbar medals (1903
and 1911), Silver Jubilee (1935), and Coron. (1937)
medals. m. (first) a daughter of Khan Sahib

of the Malerkotla family. m. (fourth) H.H. Nawab
Ruquiya Begum Sahiba, younger daughter of Anwar Khan, of
the Malerkotla family. He d. 16th
October 1947 (bur. Shahi Muqbara, Malerkotla),
having had issue, six sons and four daughters:

KCSI, KCIE, by his second wife, educ. privately.
Chief Minister of Malerkotla 1946-1947. Succeeded on the
death of his father, 16th October 1947.
Installed at the Sheesh Mahal Palace, Malerkotla, 1st
March 1948. Merged his state into the Patiala and Eastern
Punjab States Union (PEPSU), 20th August 1948.
MLA for Malerkotla in the PEPSU assembly 1952-1956, and
Punjab state assembly 1969-1971. Deprived of his rank,
titles and honours by the GOI, 28th December
1971. Author "History of the Ruling Family of Sheikh
Sadruddin Sadar-i-Jahan of Malerkotla" (2000). Rcvd:
Silver Jubilee (1935), and Coron. (1937) medals. m.

Nawab of Tonk, GCSI, GCIE, by his fourth wife, Nawab
Mulka Jamil uz-Zamani Begum Sahiba. m. (fourth) (div.
1974) Sajida Begum Sahiba (b. 1940; m.
second, 1980, Haji Anwar Ahmad Khan, and d. at
Mohali Hospital, 30th July 2006), MLA for
Malerkotla in the Punjab state assembly 1972-1977 &
1980-1985, Presdt. Malerkotla Punjab Pradesh Congress
Committee (PPCC), Chair. Malerkotla Waqf Brd., etc.,
sister of Fayyaz Ahmad Khan. He d.s.p.
at Malerkotla, 20th November 1982 (bur.
there at Shahi Muqbara) (succ. by his younger
