1. Thakur Shri Kesharsinhji Rajsinhji Sahib. m. a lady from the Jadeja family of Morvi, by whom he had issue, an only son:
a. Kunwar Shri Vakhatsinghji Kesharsinji Sahib. Adopted in 1873 by H.H. Maharaj Rana Shri Prithvi Singh, Maharaj Rana of Jhalawar and succeeded as H.H. Maharaj Rana Shri Zalim Singh II, Maharaj Rana of Jhalawar - see below.
a) Kumar Shri Madho Singh Jhala, of Nanta. Settled in Kotah in 1696. Confirmed in his father's jagir of Nanta by Maharao Bhim Singh of Kotah. Appointed to the office of Faujdar. He d. at Kotah, ca. 1740, having had issue, two sons:
i) Kumar Shri Madan Singh Jhala. Entered Kotah state service. Granted a jagir valued at Rs 12,000 p.a. and succeeded his father in the office of Faujdar. Sometime Musahib-i-Ala. He d. at Kotah, ca. 1753, having had issue, two sons:
(1) Kumar Shri Himmat Singh Jhala. Succeeded his father in the office of Faujdar. Instrumental in ensuring the smooth succession of Maharao Ajit Singh in 1756, thereby laying the foundations for his family's control over Kotah affairs during the next eight decades. He d. in Kotah, 1758, having had issue, one son and a daughter:
(a) Kumar Shri Bhim Singh Jhala. He d.v.p.
(a) Ganga Bai Sahib [Jhaliji Maharani Ganga Bai Sahiba, of Kotah]. m. at Kotah, Maharajadhiraj Maharaja Mahimahendra Maharao Raja Raja Shri Shri Shri Shri Shri Guman Singh Sahib Bahadur, Maharao Raja of Kotah (d. at Kotah, 17th January 1771), second son of Maharajadhiraj Maharaja Mahimahendra Maharao Raja Shri Ajit Singhji Sahib Bahadur, Maharao Raja of Kotah - see India (Kotah).
(2) Kumar Shri Prithvi Singh Jhala. b. 1720, educ. privately. C-in-C Kotah state forces. m. ca. 1737, a lady from the Shaktawat clan. He d. at Kotah, 1738, having had issue, two sons:
(a) Kumar Shri Sheo Singh. b. at Kotah, ca. 1738, educ. privately.
(b) Raj Rana Shri Zalim Singh Bahadur. b. posthumously, at Kotah, 1739, educ. privately. Adopted by his paternal uncle, Kumar Shri Himmat Singh Jhala, following the death of his father. Succeeded him as Faujdar of Kotah 1758. Singularly defeated the forces of the Maharaja of Jaipur on 1st December 1761, breaking his power of control over the Hadas and earning the profound gratitude of his master. Appointed as Musahib-i-Ala 28th December 1764, but expelled from Kotah soon after. Went into exile in Udaipur, where he received the Chiturkhaira estate together with the hereditary title of Raj Rana 1765. Returned to Kotah in 1770, and resumed office as Faujdar and Musahib-i-Ala. Regent of the state following the death of his brother-in-law, Maharaja Guman Singh, 17th January 1771. His rights and possessions were guaranteed under the terms of a supplementary article to the Kotah Treaty, dated 7th March 1818. Opposed by Maharao Koshore Singh when he succeeded to the gadi, but whom he soundly defeated at Mangrol, 1st October 1821. Thereby confirming his hold over the government. m. (first) ... m. (i) (morganatic) Manni Bai, a Muslim lady. He d. at Jhala-ki-Haveli, Kotah Fort, 15th June 1824, having had issue, three sons and one daughter:
1. H.H. Maharaj Rana Shri Madan Singh, Maharaj Rana of Jhalawar - see below.
(ii) Kunwar Madan Singh.
(iii) Kunwar Prithviraj Singh.
(i) Ajab Kanwar Bai Sahib [H.H. Jhaliji Maharani Ajab Kanwar Bai Sahiba, of Bundi]. m. at Bundi, 1792, H.H. Maharao Raja Bishan Singh Sahib Bahadur, Maharao Raja of Bundi (b. 1771; d. from cholera, 14th July 1821), only son of H.H. Maharao Raja Shri Ajit Singh Sahib Bahadur, Maharao Raja of Bundi. Succeeded on the abdication of his father, 1770. m. a daughter of Umdai Rajahae Buland Makan Maharajadhiraj Maharaja Birad Singh Sahib Bahadur, Raja of Kishengarh - see India (Bundi).
Raj Rana Shri Zalim Singh, also had further issue, two sons by his Muslim wife (not in the line of succession):
(ii) Rao Raja Shri Govardhan Das. b. at Kotah, 1792 (s/o Manni Bai), educ. privately. C-in-C Kotah state forces 1819-1820. Opposed his half-brother, Madho Singh, but retired to Jhabua in 1820 and later to Delhi on an allowance of Rs 30,000. m. at Jhabua, 1820, a natural daughter of Raja Bhim Singh, Raja of Jhabua. He had issue, an only son:
1. Kunwar Indsra Sal [Indarsal], educ. Kotah Seminary (1834).
(iii) Rao Raja Shri Puran Mal. b. at Kotah, 1794 (s/o Manni Bai), educ. privately.
ii) Kumar Shri Gopal Singh Jhala. He left issue.
a) A daughter (sister of Madho Singh). m. after 1709, Mahimahendra Maharao Raja Shri Arjun Singhji Sahib Bahadur, Maharao Raja of Kotah (d.s.p.m. October 1723), eldest son of Mahimahendra Maharao Raja Shri Bhim Singhji Hada [Krishna Das] Sahib Bahadur, Maharao Raja of Kotah [Nandgaon], by his principal wife, daughter of Maharana Amar Singh, Maharana of Udaipur - see India (Kotah).
4) Thakore Shri Abheysinhji I Madhavsinhji Sahib, Thakore Sahib of Chuda - see India (Chuda).
5) Kumar Shri Mokhamsinhji (or Bhimsinhji?) Madhavsinhji Sahib. He d.s.p.
7) Kumar Shri Agarsinhji Madhavsinhji Sahib. He had issue, two sons:

(1) Thakur Shri Bane Singh, of Fatehpur. Accompanied his cousin, Maharaj Rana Madan Singh, to Jhalawar, where he received Fathpur as his jagir. He had issue, two sons:
(a) Thakur Shri Agar Singh, of Fatehpur. He d.s.p.
(b) Thakur Shri Himmat Singh. Adopted from the Sadri family of Mewar. He d. 1868, having had issue, a son:
(i) Raj Kaka Shri Chhatarsal Singhji, of Fatehpur. Rcvd: Delhi Durbar silver medal (1903). He d. August 1903, having had issue, a son:
