GENEALOGY
1825 - 1865 H.H. Muhtasim ud-Daula, Nawab Ghaus Muhammad Khan Bahadur, Shaukat Jang, Nawab of Jaora. b. at Jaora, 1823, elder son of H.H. Iftikhar ud-Daula, Nawab 'Abdu'l Ghafur Muhammad Khan Bahadur, Nawab of Jaora, by his second wife, educ. privately. Appointed as Heir Apparent with the title of Wali Ahad Bahadur at birth. Succeeded on the death of his father, 9th September 1825. Reigned under the regency of his step-mother, then under the guardianship of a series of administrators, until he came of age and was invested with full ruling powers, 1842. A distinguished soldier who provided very important services to the British during the Indian Mutiny in 1857-1858, and was rewarded with a permanent salute of 13-guns. Granted a sanad by the Viceroy of India confirming succession in accordance with Islamic laws, 11th March 1862. Granted the personal titles of Muhtasim ud-Daula and Shaukat Jang, 1865. m. (first) Mahanif Begum Sahiba. m. (second) at the Sunehri Kothi, Tonk, 1837, as his principal wife, H.H. Nawab Aulia Begum Sahiba, daughter of H.H. Wazir ud-Daula, Wazir ul-Mulk, Nawab Hafiz Muhammad Wazir Khan Sahib Bahadur, Nusrat Jang, Nawab of Tonk. m. (i) (morganatic) Musammat Fahiman Sahiba. He d. at Jaora, 30th April 1865 (bur. there at the Shrine of Husain Tekri), having had issue, two sons and two daughters:
1865 - 1895 Major H.H. Ihtisham ud-Daula, Nawab Muhammad Ismail Khan Bahadur, Firuz Jang, Nawab of Jaora. b. at Jaora, 1854, eldest son of H.H. Muhtasim ud-Daula, Nawab Ghaus Muhammad Khan Bahadur, Shaukat Jang, Nawab of Jaora, by his morganatic wife, Musammat Fahiman Sahiba, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 30th April 1865. Reigned under a Council of Regency until he came of age and was invested with full ruling powers, 1872. Granted the personal titles of Ihtisham ud-Daula and Firuz Jang, on his accession. Hon. Maj. British Army 27/4/1881, atached 1st. Regt. 1st Central India Horse IA 7/10/1881. Rcvd: Prince of Wales's gold medal (1875) and KIH gold medal (1877). m. (first) at Jaora, 1873, H.H. Shahar Banu Dulhan Begum Sahiba, daughter of Sahibzada Muhammad Bashir Khan, a descendant of Sahibzadi Aziz Begum Sahiba. m. (i) at Jaora, 1872 (by Hiyat Shara Kiya), Nawab Mahal Sahiba, a Hindu lady from Marwar. m. (ii) Taj Mahal Sahiba. m. (a) Inhuran Bai. m. (b) Hurmut Bai. m. (c) Karima Bai. He d. at Jaora, 6th March 1895 (bur. there at the Shrine of Husain Tekri), having had issue, eight sons and ten daughters by different wives:
