- 1799 - 1820 H.I.M. Emperor Chia-ch'ing [Jen Tsung Jui Huang Ti] [Shou T'ien Hsing Yün Fu Hua Sui Yü Ch'ung Wên Ching Wu Hsiao Kung Ch'in Chien Tuan Ming Ying Chê Jui], the Great Illustrious Emperor of the Great Ch'ing Dynasty, Son of Heaven, Lord of Myriad Years, etc c. b. at T 'ien-ti-i-chia Ch'un, Jehol, 13th November 1760, educ. Shang Shu-fang. Appointed as Heir Apparent with the title of Huang T'ai Tzu on 21st December 1773 (secret) and publicly invested 15th October 1795. Granted the title of Chia Ho Shê Ch'in Wang 1789. Invested with executive powers and raised to the title of Emperor at the T'ai-ho Tien, by his father, 9th February 1796. Succeeded on his father's death as supreme sovereign, 7th February 1799. m. fourteen wives, including (first) 1774, H.M. Empress Hsiao Shu-rui (d. 5th March 1797), raised to the title of Empress as Shu-rui Huang Hou 12th February 1796, and to the posthumous title of Hsiao Shu-rui Huang Hou 25th March 1797, daughter of Lieutenant-General Horchingo, Tch'eng-ngen-kong, of the Sitala clan, sometime Presdt. Imperial Domestic Court. m. (second) H.M. Dowager Empress Hsiao Ho-rui (b. 1776; d. 23rd January 1850, bur. Ch'ang-ling Mausoleum, Hebei), granted the rank of Kuei Fei 12th February 1796, prom. to Huang Kuei Fei 14th June 1797, to Empress as Ho-rui Huang Hou 25th May 1799, Empress Dowager as Ho-rui Huang T'ai Hou 4th September 1820, and to the posthumous title of Hsiao Ho-rui Huang T'ai Hou 16th February 1850, a sister of Kungala, 1st Marquis Ho-shih-tai, of the Niuhuru clan. m. (a) a daughter of H.E. Kyi To Lo Ye, sometime Ambassador to Burma. He d. at the Imperial Summer Palace, Jehol, 2nd September 1820 (bur. Ch'ang-ling Mausoleum, Hebei), having had issue, five sons and nine daughters, including:
- 1) H.I.H. Prince (Huang Tzu) Mien-mu. He d. young.
- 2) H.I.H. Prince (Huang Tzu) Mien-ning, who succeeded as H.I.M. Emperor Tao-kuang [Hsuan Tung Huang Ti], Great Emperor of the Great Ching Dynasty (s/o Empress Hsiao Ho-rui) - see below.
- 3) H.I.H. Prince (Huang Tzu) Mien-k'ai [K'o or chio], 1st Prince Tun (Tun To Lo Chün Wang). b. 6th August 1795 (s/o Empress Hsiao Ho-rui), educ. privately. Granted the title of To Lo Chün Wang Tun 1819, prom. to the first rank 1820, demoted to the second rank and restored, demoted again 1838 but was posthumously rehabilitated. Adopted Prince Yi-tsung, 2nd Prince Tun. Supt. Imperial Bureau of Music 1823, Presiding Controller Imperial Clan Court 1826-1827 and 1836-1839, Supt. Imperial Printing Press 1827. He d. 18th January 1839 (succ. by his nephew, Prince Yi-tsung), having had issue, two sons:
- a) H.H. Prince (Wei Ju Pa Fên Fu Kuo Kung) Yi-tsuan. He d.v.p. 1st August 1821.

- 4) H.I.H. Prince (Huang Tzu) Mien-hsin [Huai], 1st Prince Chui (Chui Ho Shê Ch'in Wang) (cre. 1819). b. 9th March 1805 (s/o Empress Hsiao Ho-rui). m. H.I.H. Princess (Fu Chin) … (d. 1853). He d. 27th September 1828, having had issue, two sons:
- a) Lieutenant-General H.I.H. Prince Yi-chih [Min], 2nd Prince Chui (Chui To Lo Chün Wang) (succ. Nov. 1828). b. 1826, as Yi-yuen, educ. Shang Shu-fang. m. a daughter of Lieutenant-General H.E. Wen-wei, of the Blue Banner Corps. A poet of some note. He d.s.p. 7th July 1850 (succ. by Prince Tsai-yi).
- b) Prince Yi-zhi [Yi-yue]. b. 1833.
- 5) General H.I.H. Prince (Huang Tzu) Mien-yü [Tuan], 1st Prince Hui (Hui Ho Shê Ch'in Wang). b. 18th March 1814, educ. privately. Granted the title of Hui To Lo Chün Wang 1820, and prom. to Ho Shê Ch'in Wang 1839. C-in-C (Feng-ming Ta Jiang-chun) Tientsin and Peking 1853-1855. He d. 9th January 1865, having had issue, three sons:
- a) H.I.H. Prince (To Lo Chün Wang) Yi-hsiang. He had issue:
- b) H.E. (Fêng Ên Fu Kuo Kung) Yi-hsün. He d. 17th August 1871. He had issue:
- i) H.E. The Noble (Chên Kuo Chiang Chün) Tsai-tse. b. 1868, educ. Presdt. Brd of Finance 1901-1911, Minister for Finance 1911. Rcvd: GC of the Order of the Rising Sun with Powlownia Flowers of Japan (31.1.1906). m. a sister of H.I.M. Dowager Empress Lung Yu, and daughter of General H.E. Kuei-hsiang, a Duke of the third grade, of the Ye'honala clan, sometime Dep. C-in-C. He d. 1930, having had issue:

- c) The Noble (Chên Kuo Chiang Chün) Yi-mu. He d. (succ. by Prince Tsai-t'ao), before 1902, having had issue, a son:

Princess Chuang-ching (Ho Shê Chuang-ching Kung Chu). b. 1781 (d/o Dowager Empress Hsiao Ho-rui). m. 1801, Prince Sodnamdorji [So-t ên-mu-tu-pu-chi] (Ho Shê Sobnamdobjai E Fu) (d.s.p. 1825), son of Prince Batu, and grandson of General H.H. Prince Chimed Dorji, of the Korchin Mongols. She d.s.p.m. 1811.
- 4) H.I.H. Princess Chuang-ching (Ho Shê Chuang-ching Kung Chu). m. 1802, Prince Manibadara (Ho Shê Manibadara E Fu), a Timurid Prince and Cdr. of the Josotu League, of Korchin Mongols. She d. 1811.
