1914 - 1917 H.H. Paduka Sri Baginda Sultan Mahmud Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Sir Ahmad Mua’azzam Shah, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of the State of Pahang, CMG (28.6.1907). b. at the Royal Palace, Pekan Lama, 4th February 1868, as Tun Long Mahmud, eldest son of H.H. Paduka Sri Baginda Al-Sultan Besar Sir Ahmad Mua’azzam Shah ibni al-Marhum Bendahara Sri Maharaja Tun Ali, Sultan of Pahang, KCMG, by his second wife, Che’ Ungku Pah binti al-Marhum Dato’ Temenggong Sri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim, educ. privately. Raised to the title of Tengku 5th December 1884. MSC 1889-1914. Appointed as acting ruler by his father, with the title of Pemangku Raja, 22nd July 1889. Appointed as Heir Apparent and granted the style of Yang Teramat Mulia 11th October 1891. Invested with the title of Tengku Besar, at the Istana Pantai, Pekan Lama, 24th May 1897. Installed as Regent on the transfer of executive and administrative powers by his aged father, at the Istana Pantai, Pekan, 13rd April 1909. Proclaimed as Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan on his father's death and formally installed at the Balairong Sri, Kota Istana Sri Terentang, Pekan, 29th May 1914. Rcvd: DK of Johor (4.6.1899). m. (first) Cik Hajjah Amina binti Haji ‘Abdu’l Halim, Tok Encik, daughter of Haji ‘Abdu’l Halim Endut, Orang Kaya Indra Mahkota. m. (second) at Johor Bahru, 14th September 1897, H.H. Tengku Mariam binti al-Marhum Sultan Sir Abu Bakar, Tengku Ampuan Besar (b. at Istana Bidadari, Serangoon, Singapore, 21st December 1871; d.s.p. at Istana Menara Empat, Scudai, Johor Bahru, 25th October 1952, bur. there at the Sultan Abu Bakar Mausoleum, Bukit Mahmoodiah), granted the title of Tengku Ampuan with the style of Yang Teramat Mulia 14th September 1897, and prom to Tengku Ampuan Besar with the style of Duli Yang Maha Mulia (Her Highness) July 1913, Presdt Johor Girl Guides Assoc, rcvd: DK of Johor (17.9.1950), eldest daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Sir Abu Bakar ibni al-Marhum Dato’ Temenggong Sri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim, Sultan of Johor, GCMG, KCSI, by his second wife, Che’ Zubaidah binti ‘Abdu’llah, Che’ Puan Besar, née Cecilia Catherina Lange, daughter of Mads Johansen Lange, Pungwa Besar of Kessiman, on Bali. m. (third) Che’ Engku Umaiyah binti Tun Mansur [Ku Yah] (m. second, at Pekan, 1918, Y.A.M. Tengku Umar ibni al-Marhum Sultan Sir Ahmad Mua’azzam Shah, Tengku Setia di-Raja, younger brother of her deceased husband, by whom she left issue – see above), fourth daughter of Y.M. Tun Mansur bin Dato’ Bendahara Sri Maharaja Tun Ali, Engku Muda, of Kampung Marhum, by his wife, Cik Wok Fatima binti Haji ‘Abdu’l Ghani, daughter of Haji ‘Abdu’l Ghani bin ‘Abdu’l Karim. He d.s.p. at the Istana Sri Terentang, Tanjung Kuala Pahang, 19th June 1917 (bur. there at the Royal Mausoleum).

Paduka Sri Baginda Sultan Sir Abdullah al-Mutasim Billah Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan Sir Ahmad Mua’azzam Shah, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of the State of Pahang, KCMG (3.6.1921). b. at the Royal Palace, Pekan Lama, 12th October 1874, third son of H.H. Paduka Sri Baginda Al-Sultan Besar Sir Ahmad Mua’azzam Shah ibni al-Marhum Bendahara Sri Maharaja Tun Ali, Sultan of Pahang, KCMG, by Cik Kusuma [Sokma] binti Tok Minal Daeng Koro, educ. privately. Raised to the title of Tengku (from Tuan), 5th December 1884. Succeeded on the death of his elder brother, 19th June 1917. Installed at the Balairong Sri, Kota Istana Sri Terentang, Pekan, May 1919. Hon Col the Pahang Btn, Malay States Volunteer Regt, 4th October 1923-1932. m. (first) Che’ Endut. m. (second) H.H. Tengku Hajjah Kalsum binti Tun Abdullah [Som binti Tun], Tengku Ampuan Besar (b. 1886; d. at Pekan, 27th August 1967, bur. there at the Royal Cemetery, Kuala Pahang), daughter of Y.Bhg. Tun ‘Abdu’llah bin Tun ‘Abdu’l Rauf, of Pulau Duyung, Trengganu. m. (third) Y.Bhg. Cik Wan Chantik binti Wan Muhammad Amin (d. at Pekan, 30th March 1944, bur. there at the Royal Cemetery, Kuala Pahang), daughter of Wan Muhammad Amin, from Patani, Thailand. He d. at the Istana Kuning, Pekan, 22nd June 1932 (bur. there at the Royal Cemetery, Kuala Pahang), having had issue, ten sons and seven daughters:
