Azam Jah, 'Umdat ul-Umara, Mukhtar ul-Mulk, Roshan ud-Daula, Nawab Muhammad Munawwar Khan Bahadur, Bahadur Jang, Sipah-Salar, Nawab Subadar of the Realm of the Carnatic, eldest son of H.H. Amir ul-Hind, Wala Jah, 'Umdat ul-Umara, Siraj ul-Mulk, Amir ud-Daula, Nawab 'Abdu'l 'Ali Khan Bahadur, Shaukat Jang, Sipah-Salar, Subadar of the Carnatic, by his first wife, H.H. Nawab Begum Sahiba, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 2nd August 1819. Installed on the musnaid at the Chepauk Palace, Artillery Park, Madras, 3rd February 1820. m. (first) H.H. Nawab Inayat un-nisa Begum Sahiba [Bahu Begum], daughter of Zia ud-Daula, by his wife, Imam un-nisa Begum Sahiba. m. (1) Mukhtar un-nisa Begum Sahiba (d. at the Chepauk Palace, Artillery Park, Madras, 8th May 1875). m. (2) before 21st February 1823, 'Umat ul-Fatima Mahal Sahiba (d.s.p. at the Chepauk Palace, Artillery Park, Madras, 1st December 1877), the elder sister of Safdar Husain Khan.He d. at the Chepauk Palace, Artillery Park, Madras, 12th November 1825 (bur. Hazrat Natthar Wali Dargah, Farangi-Gate, Trichnopoly), having had issue, one son and three daughters:

Amir ul-Hind, Wala Jah, 'Umdat ul-Umara, Mukhtar ul-Mulk, Siraj ud-Daula, Nawab Ghulam Muhammad Ghaus Khan Bahadur, Bahadur Jang, Nawab Nazim of the Carnatic. b. at the Chepauk Palace, Artillery Park, Madras, 25th August 1824, only son of H.H. Azam Jah, 'Umdat ul-Umara, Mukhtar ul-Mulk, Roshan ud-Daula, Nawab Muhammad Munawwar Khan Bahadur, Bahadur Jang, Sipah-Salar, Nawab Subadar of the Realm of the Carnatic, by his second wife, Mukhtaram un-nisa Begum Sahiba, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 12th November 1825. Installed on the musnaid at the Chepauk Palace, Artillery Park, Madras, 23rd December 1825). Reigned under the regency of H.H. Prince 'Azim Jah Bahadur, Naib-i-Mukhtar, his grand uncle, until he came of age and was invested with full ruling powers, at the Chepauk Palace, Artillery Park, Madras, 25th August 1842. Author of "Ghulzar-i-Azam".m. (first) H.H. Nawab Khair un-nisa Begum Sahiba (b. 1834; d.s.p. at Madras, 16th August 1903), granted the personal title of Nawab with the style of Her Highness 16th December 1890, daughter of Ashraf un-nisa Begum, by her husband, Zia ul-Mulk of the Nizam's of Hyderabad's service, son of Imam un-nisa Begum, maternal grandmother of H.H. Nawab Ghulam Muhammad Ghaus Khan. m. (second) Auzam un-nisa Begum Sahiba (d.s.p. at Madras, February 1888). m. (third) Izzat un-nisa Begum Sahiba (d. at Madras, 1862), previously styled Shirin. m. (a) Man Kaur, who had one daughter. m. (b) Bagoti (d.s.p.). He d. at the Chepauk Palace, Artillery Park, Madras, 7th October 1855 (when the principality was abolished according to Lord Dalhousie's doctrine of lapse, then in force) (bur.
