Rcvd: Officer of the Royal Order of the Lion (8.2.1959), and of the Order of the Star of Africa, Gold Medal of the Royal Order of the Lion (1925), etc. He d. at the Clinique Prince Louis Rwagasore, Bujumbura, 19^th July 1973, having had issue, five sons and eight daughters:

(a) H.E. Umuganwa ntare Jean-Baptiste Ntidendereza. b. at Kayanza, 1930, educ. Groupe Scolaire d'Astrida, Butare, Rwanda. Chief of Bwambarangwe-Busoni 1944-1955, and of Muhinga 1955-1959, Mbr Conseil Supérieur du Pays 1952, Founder of the Parti Démocrate Chrétien (PDC) 1960, Presdt Front Commun, Minister for the Interior 1961. He was k. (executed) for his role in the assassination of Crown Prince Louis Rawagasore, at Gitega, 15^th January 1963, having had issue, two sons and two daughters:
- (i) Umuganwa ntare Desire Ntidendereza.

- (iii) Umuganwa ntare Aimée Ntidendereza.

Employed with Common Market Org in Brussels, Presdt. Parti Démocrate Chrétien (PDC) 1960-1963, MNA for Kayanza-Kabuye 1961-1963, Mbr Permanent Cttee. of the Foreign Affairs Cmsn 1961-1965. He was k. (executed) for his role in the assassination of Crown Prince Louis Rawagasore, at Gitega, 15^th January 1963.
(c) Umuganwa ntare Charles Baranyanka [Prince Charles Baranyanka]. b. at Rabiro, Nigozi, 20^thJanuary 1935, educ. Groupe Scolaire d’Astrida, Butare, Rwanda, Coll St Pierre and Lycée Molière, Brussels, and Univ of Liege, Belgium. Ambassador to Belgium and Permanent Representative to the EEC 1962-1965 (conc to the Court of St James’s 1964-1965), Ambassador to France 1965-1967 (conc to Switzerland), Chef du Cabinet to the Minister for Foreign Affairs 1970-1971, to Minister for Economics 1971. Founder Mbr Alliance Burundo-African pour le Salut (ABASA) 1993. Naturalized as a Belgian citizen 22^nd January 2004. Mbr Centre d’Echanges Belgo Burundais (CEBB), Féd Espoir d’Afrique (FEDA), etc. Author of “Le Burundi, Face à la Croix et à la Bannière” (2009). He had issue.

- (a) Umuganwa ntare Hubert Gisage (s/o the first wife). Chief of Mushasha South. He had issue, two sons and two daughters:
  - (i) Umuganwa ntare Deogratias Gisage.
