The Devehlu sept of the Qajar tribe is not directly descended in the male line from the ruling Quyunlu line, indeed, a blood feud existed between them during the eighteenth century. Nevertheless, they have long been closely allied to, and associated with, the Quyunlu. Therefore, their known genealogy appears here in order to avoid the confusion between the two, often made by Western readers.
