[1943 - 1988] H.R.H. Shahzada Sultan Hamid Mirza [Prince Hamid Mirza Kadjar], Heir Apparent of the Imperial House of Qajar. b. at Tabriz, Azerbaijan, 23rd April 1918, second son of H.I.H. Shahzada Muhammad Hassan Mirza, Crown Prince of Persia, educ. privately, at Barrow Heath Sch, Risby, Suffolk, and HMS Worcester Thames Northgood Training Coll, Greenhithe, Kent. Became Heir Apparent of the Imperial House of Qajar on the death of his father, 7th January 1943 and succeeded as undisputed head of the family on the death of his first cousin, 24th September 1975. Cadet Royal Mail Steam Packet Co 1936-1939, employed with Mobil Oil Co in London 1939-1942 and 1946-1957, cmsnd as Sub-Lieut RNVR 1942, served in WW2 1942-1945 under the nom de guerre of David Drummond in HMS Conqueror 1942-1943, promoted Lieut 19/10/1943, attached anti-submarine warfare dvsn at the Admiralty, London 1943, in HMS Duke of York (Russian convoys) 1943-1944, and HMS Wildgoose 1944-1945 with 2nd Support Group Western Approaches (anti-submarine warfare), prom Lieut-Cdr, released from duty 30/4/1946. Employed with the Iranian Oil Consortium 1957-1971 as Assist Head of Materials at Tehran, Head of Materials & Fields at Abadan and later at Tehran, and subsequently in London with Iranian Oil Services 1971-1979. Rcvd: 39/45 and Atlantic Stars, British War, Defence and NGS medals. m. (first) at Paris, France, 1946 (div. 1957), H.H. Shahzadi Mah Banu Khanum (b. at Paris, France, 1924), daughter of H.R.H. Shahzada Fathu’llah Mirza, Shuja us-Sultana, by his first wife, H.I.H. Shahzadi Kaukab Khadija Khanum, Hazrat-i-Qudsia, eldest daughter of H.I.M. Muhammad ‘Ali Shah, Shahanshah of Persia. m. (second) at Tehran, 25th August 1960, Sudaba Khanum [Soudabeh] (b. 1924), née Afshar. He d. at Westminster, London, 5th May 1988 (bur.
