Syed Ibrahim bin Syed Ahmad Zain ud-din al-Qadri, an Arab from Malacca, son of Syed Ahmad Zain ud-din bin Syed 'Abdu'l Rahim al-Qadri. m. Sri Khamis, a former slave. He had issue, including, two sons:

1856 - 1872 Y.T.M. Paduka Sri Sultan al-Sharif Sha’aban Muhammad Shah Zillu’llah fi al-‘Alam ibni al-Marhum Ibrahim al-Qadri, Tunku Besar of Tampin. b. at Rembau, 17xx, as Syed Sha’aban, son of Syed Ibrahim bin Syed Ahmad Zain ud-din al-Qadri, by a slave girl named Sri Khamis, educ. privately. Appointed as deputy ruler and installed at Bandar as Yang di-Pertuan Muda with the title of Paduka Sri Sultan Sha’aban Muhammad Shah, by his father-in-law 13th September 1832. Fled to Tampin in 1833, and lived in Malacca 1837-1842. Recognised as hereditary Tunku Besar of Tampin, following the death of his father-in-law, 1856. m. (first) Y.A.M. Tunku Putri binti al-Marhum Sultan Ahmad Shah, daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah ibni-al-Marhum Tunku Singkul, Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Jelebu, by his wife, Cik Puan Melang. m. (second) at Malacca, before 1824, Y.A.M. Tengku Bahiya binti al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad ‘Ali ‘Abdu’l Jalil Mu’azzam Shah, third daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad ‘Ali ‘Abdu’l Jalil Mu’azzam Shah ibni al-Marhum Sultan ‘Abdu’l Jalil ‘Alam ud-din Ra’ayat Shah, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Siak Sri Indrapura. m. (fourth) at Bandar, 1832, Y.M. Tunku Hitam binti Sultan ‘Ali (d. in childbirth), elder daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan ‘Ali ibni al-Marhum Ahmad Shah, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Rembau and Tampin. m. (fourth) Y.M. Tunku Lebar binti al-Marhum Sultan ‘Ali, youngest daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan ‘Ali ibni al-Marhum Ahmad Shah, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Rembau and Tampin. He d. at Tampin, several months before 21st June 1873 (bur. there), having had issue, four sons and three daughters:

1872 – 1883 Y.M. Tunku Syed ‘Abu Bakar bin Syed Sha’aban al-Qadri [Tunku Abu], Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Kru and Tampin, eldest son of son of Y.T.M. Sultan Muhammad Shah bin Syed Ibrahim al-Qadri, Tunku Besar of Tampin, by his Tunku Hitam binti Sultan ‘Ali (d. in childbirth), elder daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan ‘Ali ibni al-Marhum Ahmad Shah, Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Rembau and Tampin. Succeeded on the death of his father, before 21st June 1873 (see his letter to the Governor of the SS of that date, and the Lieutenant-Governor E.W. Shaw’s letter to the Colonial Sec in Singapore dated 17th July 1873). Resided in Malacca, where he had inherited several properties left by his father and drew a government pension. m. Y.A.M. Tunku Maimuna [Munah] binti al-Marhum Tuanku Nasir ud-din, second daughter of Y.T.M. Paduka Sri Tuanku Nasir ud-din ibni al-Marhum Tuanku Raja ‘Ali [Radin Sunnah], Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan, by his second wife, Tunku Tenuh binti Raja Yahya, younger daughter of Y.T.M. Paduka Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah ibni al-Marhum Raja Adil, Yang di-Pertuan of Jelebu. He had issue, a son:

1883 – 1893 Y.T.M. Tunku Syed ‘Abdu’l Hamid ibni al-Marhum Sharif Sha’aban Muhammad Shah al-Qadri, Tunku Besar of Tampin, third son of Y.T.M. Sultan Muhammad Shah bin Syed Ibrahim al-Qadri, Tunku Besar of Tampin, by his fourth wife, Tunku Lebar binti Raja ‘Ali, youngest daughter of Raja ‘Ali bin Daeng Alampaki, Yang di-Pertuan Muda of Rembau. He attacked the Penghulu of Rembau and secured control of Kroo and Tampin with the support of several of the leading chieftains of the country, and was recognised as ruler before 20th March 1883. Joined the revived Negri Sembilan Federation, 12th July 1889. m. Y.A.M. Tunku Fatima binti al-Marhum Tuanku Nasir ud-din (d. at Tampin, 9th December 1906), youngest daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Tuanku Nasir ud-din ibni al-Marhum Tuanku Raja 'Ali [Radin Sunnah], Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan, by his sixth wife, Cik Sauda. He d. at Tampin, before 25th February 1893, having had issue:
  • 1) Y.T.M. Tunku Syed Dewa ibni al-Marhum Syed ‘Abdu’l Hamid al-Qadri, Tunku Besar of Tampin (s/o Fatima) – see below.
  • 1) Y.M. Tunku Sharifa Leng binti al-Marhum Syed ‘Abdu’l Hamid. Served as Regent of Tampin, May 1929 - 21st December 1945. m. and had issue, a daughter.
  • 2) Y.M. Tunku Sharifa Atapah binti al-Marhum Syed ‘Abdu’l Hamid.
  • 3) Y.M. Tunku Sharifa Amina binti al-Marhum Syed ‘Abdu’l Hamid. m. Y.M. Tunku Mahmud bin Tunku Alang Tunggal, of Jempol (d. before 1925), son of Y.A.M. Tunku Ahmad Tunggal ibni al-Marhum Tuanku Imam, Tunku Alang – see Malaysia (Negri Sembilan).

Malay Coll, Kuala Kangsar, Perak. MSC Negri Sembilan. m. Che’ Mariam binti Zakaria (m. ca. October 1920, Y.A.M. Tunku Aminu’llah ibni al-Marhum Tuanku Nasir ud-din, Tunku Muda Chik, of Negri Sembilan, by whom she had two daughters – see Negri Sembilan), widow of Syed Muhammad Amin Dola, and daughter of Dato’ Gempa Zakaria, of Rembau. He d. aged 20.

1929 - 2005 Colonel H.H. Tunku Syed Idrus ibni al-Marhum Tunku Syed Mohammed Al-Qadri, Tunku Besar of Tampin. b. at Kampong Lubuk, Batu Segamat, Johor, 21st December 1927, elder son of Y.T.M. Tunku Syed Muhammad bin Syed Dewa al-Qadri, Tunku Besar of Tampin, by his third wife, Y.M. Sharifa Intan binti Syed Dagang, educ. Malay Sch, Repah, Malay Coll, Kuala Kangsar, Perak, White Lodge, Davies, the Univ Coll of South West England, Exeter, Devon, and the Far East Training Centre, Nee Soon, Singapore. Succeeded on the death of his father, May 1929. Reigned under a Council of Regency until he came of age, and was invested with full ruling powers, at Tampin, Negri Sembilan, 21st December 1945. Administrative and local government trainee (public admin & accounting) with Exeter and Exmouth town councils 1953-1954. Tunku Tan Sri Sulaiman ibni al-Marhum Tuanku Antah, of Negri Sembilan, educ. Tunku Besar Sch, Tampin; Science Sch, Kuala Pilah, King George V Sch, Seramban, Landsdoqn Coll, Bayswater, and the American Coll for the Applied Arts (now AIU), London. Appointed as Heir Apparent at birth. Succeeded on the death of his father as Tunku Besar of Tampin, 26th December 2005. Formally installed at the Balai Rasmi, Tampin, 12th August 2006.
