1870 – 1896 Meherban Shrimant Shahaji III Maloji Raje Bhonsle [Baba Sahib], Raja of Akalkot. b. at the Juna Rajwada, Akalkot, 14^th December 1867, only son of Meherban Shrimant Raja Maloji II Shahaji Raje Bhonsle [Buwa Sahib], Raja of Akalkot, educ. Rajaram Coll, Kolhapur. Succeeded on the death of his father, 1870. Reigned under an Administrator appointed by the Governor of Bombay. Invested with full ruling powers, at the Rajwada, Akalkot, November 1891. m. at Baroda, 1881, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Rani Lakshmibai Raje Bhonsle, Regent for her adopted son 1896-1916, daughter of Shrimant Sardar Narayanrao Dhaibar Killedar, by his wife, the second daughter of H.H. Shrimant Maharaja Sir Khanderao II Gaekwad, Sena Khas Khel Shamsher Bahadur, Maharaja of Baroda, GCSI. He d. at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 31^st December 1896, having had issue, three daughters:

1) Shrimant Yamunabai Raje Bhonsle [H.H. Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Gajarabai Raje Sahib Bhonsle, Rani of Savantwadi]. b. at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 30^th October 1887, educ. privately. Regent of Savantwadi 23^rd April 1913 to 29^th October 1924. m. at Akalkot, 18^th May 1903, as his second wife, H.H. Raja Shrimant Shriram Savant Bhonsle, Bahadur, Sar Desai of Savantwadi (b. 19^th October 1871; d. 23^rd April 1913), eldest son of Raj Kumar Shrimant Som Savant [Aba Sahib], by his wife Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Jaywantibai Sahiba. She d.s.p. - see India (Savantwadi).
2) Shrimant Putalabai Raje Bhonsle [Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Bhagirathibai Raje Sahib Dafle, of Jath]. b. at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 16^th November 1889, educ. privately. Regent of Jath during the minority of her eldest son, 1928-1929. m. at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 18^th May 1902, Meherban Shrimant Ramrao II Amritrao Dafle [Aba Sahib], Desmukh of Jath (b. at Umraon, 11^th January 1886; d. at Ramdas Palace, Jath, 14^th August 1928), fourth son of Shrimant Sardar Parashuramrao Madhavrao Dafle, of Umraun. She had issue, four sons and three daughters - India Non-salute (Jath).
3) Shrimant Tarabai Raje Bhonsle [Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Tarabai Raje Sahib Ghorpade, Rani of Sandur]. b. at Poona 27^th June 1896. m. 7^th June 1908, Raja Shrimant Venkatarao Ranchandrarao Sahib Ghorpade, Hindurao, Mamlukatmadar Senapati, Raja of Sandur (b. 10^th July 1892; d. 5^th May 1928), eldest son of Raja Shrimant Ranchandrarao Venkatarao Sahib Ghorpade, Hindurao, Mamlukatmadar Senapati, Raja of Sandur, CIE, by his first wife, Rani Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Rukmibai Raje Sahib, daughter of Shrimant Kasirao Ghorpade. She d. from tuberculoses, at Poona, 25^th July 1926, having had issue, two daughters - India Non-salute (Sandur).

1896 - 1923 Captain Meherban Shrimant Raja Fatehsinhrao III Shahaji Raje Bhonsle, Raja of Akalkot. b. at Kurla, 24^th August 1894, as Meherban Shrimant Sayaji Ganpatji Raje Bhonsle [Bapu Sahib], elder son of Meherban Shrimant Sardar Ganpatji Bhawanji Raje Bhonsle, of Kurla, educ. Rajkumar Coll, Rajkot, and with the Imperial Cadet Corps, Dehra Dun. Selected as successor to the late Raja and formally adopted by Rani Lakshmibai Raje Sahib, in right of her late husband, Raja Shahaji III, 1896. Given the new name of Fatehsinhrao III Shahaji Raje Bhonsle and ascended the gadi as Raja of Akalkot, 1896. Reigned under the Regency of his adopted mother until he came of age and was invested with full ruling powers, at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 20^th August 1916. Cmsnd as Hon 2^nd-Lieut ILF attached 1^st Kolhapur Infantry 1910, prom Hon Lieut 31/10/1914 attached 19^th Royal Hussars (Queen Alexandra's Own), served in the Great War in France and Flanders as ADC to the GOC Cavalry divsn BEF, prom Hon Capt 1/1/1918. Attended the Imperial Coronation Durbar in Delhi 1911. Rcvd: Delhi Durbar gold medals (1903 & 1911), 1914/15 star, British War and Allied Victory medals (1918). m. (first) at Kolhapur, 28^th April 1912, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Rani Tarabai Raje Sahib Bhonsle, KIH gold medal (1.2.1937) (b. at Kagal, Kolhapur, 1899; d. at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 15^th November 1942), nee Shrimant Lakshmibai Ghatge [Akka Sahib], Regent of Akalkot during the minority of her eldest son 3^rd April 1923 to 27^th February 1936, rcvd: Silver Jubilee (1935), and Coron (1937) medals, second daughter of Meherban Shrimant Rajamanya Rajashri Sir Pirajirao [Bapu Sahib] Ghatge, Sarjerao, Hindurao, Vazarat, Ma-ab, Chief of Kagal (Senior), KBE, CSI, CIE, sometime Regent of Kolhapur, by his second wife, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Ahalyabai Sahib Ghatge, daughter of Shrimant Narsinhrao Nimbalkar, a nobleman of Kolhapur state. m. (second) Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Rani … bai Raje Sahib Bhonsle. He was k. by accidental poisoning while undergoing medical treatment at the Sassoon Hospital, Poona, 3^rd April 1923 (succ. by his eldest son), having had issue, three sons and three daughters:

1) Meherban Shrimant Raja Vijayasinhrao Fatehsinhrao Raje Bhonsle, Raja of Akalkot (s/o Tarabai) - see below.
2) Meherban Shrimant …rao Fatehsinhrao Raje Bhonsle. b. at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 13^th November 1916, and d. 11^th May 1917.

3) Shrimant Pramilabai Raje Bhonsle [Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Kamalabai Ghatge]. b. at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 24^th September 1921 (d/o the second wife), educ. privately. m. at Akalkot, 17^th December 1938, Meherban Shrimant Rajamanya Rajashri Jaisinghrao [Aba Sahib] Ghatge, Sarjerao, Hindurao, Vazarat, Ma-ab, Chief of Kagal (Senior) (b. 8^th July 1917), eldest son of Meherban Shrimant Rajamanya Rajashri Sir Pirajirao [Bapu Sahib] Ghatge, Sarjerao, Hindurao, Vazarat, Ma-ab, Chief of Kagal (Senior), KBE, CSI, CIE by his third wife, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Pritabai Sahib, daughter of Shrimant Sardar Parmekar, of Savantwadi. 1923 - 1952 Meherban Shrimant Raja Vijayasinhrao Fatehsinhrao Raje Bhonsle, Raja of Akalkot. b. at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 13^th December 1915, eldest son of Captain Meherban Shrimant Raja Fatehsinhrao III Shahaji Raje Bhonsle, Raja of Akalkot, by his first wife, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Rani Tarabai Raje Bhonsle, KIH, sometime Regent of Akalkot, educ. Rajkumar Coll., Rajkot, Bishop Cotton High Sch. and Deccan Coll., Poona. Succeeded on the death of his father, 3^rd April 1923. Ascended the gadi 4^th April 1923 and reigned under the Regency of his mother until he came of age. Invested with full ruling powers 27^th February 1936. Signed the instrument of accession to the Dominion of India, August 1947. Merged his state into Bombay 8^th March 1948. Rcvd: Silver Jubilee (1935), Coron. (1937), and Indian Independence (1947) medals. m. (first) at Gwalior, 23^rd February 1934, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Rani Shanta Raje Sahib Bhonsle (b. at Gwalior, 14^th November 1914; d.s.p. at Bombay, from a pierced lung received in a freak motor accident caused by a whirlwind near Akalkot, 19^th March 1934), née Maharajkumari Shrimant Mary Kambabai Raje Scindia, only daughter of Lieutenant-General H.H. (second) at the Baroda Estate, Bombay, 25^th April 1942, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Rani Nirmala Raje Sahib Bhonsle (b. at Baroda, 1^st December 1917; d. at Bombay, 15^th January 1993), MLA for North Sholapur in the Bombay state assembly 1951-1956 and Maharashtra 1956-1967, Parliamentary Sec. to the Chief Minister 1952-1953, Chair. Labour Welfare Brd. 1953-1956, Dep. Minister for Education 1956, née Shrimant Maharajkumari Nirmala Devi Gaekwad, daughter of Shrimant Maharajkumar Shivajirao Gaekwad, of Baroda, by his wife, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Maharajkumari Kamaladevibai Gaekwad, daughter of Sardar Kadam. He d.s.p. at Bombay, 10^th April 1952 (succ. by his younger brother).

1952 - 1965 Meherban Shrimant Raja Jayasinhrao Vijayasinhrao Raje Bhonsle, Raja of Akalkot. b. at the Rajwada, Akalkot, 28^th January 1923, youngest son of Captain Meherban Shrimant Raja Fatehsinhrao III Shahaji Raje Bhonsle, Raja of Akalkot, by his second wife, educ. Nutan Marathi High Sch., and Bombay Univ. Succeeded on the death of his elder brother, 10^th April 1952 (recognized as ruler by the GOI 1952). m. (first) Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Rani Mrudula Raje Sahib Bhonsle, Presdt Akalkot Education Soc. m. (i) (morganatic) … He d. at Model Colony, Poona, 20^th January 1965, having had issue, two daughters:

1) Shrimant Rani Sumitrabai Raje Bhonsle, Head of the Royal House of Akalkot (d/o Mrudula) - see below.
2) Shrimant Rajkumari Suchitrabai [Sanyukta] Raje Bhonsle (d/o Mrudula). Presdt Akalkot Education Soc. unm.

Raja Shrimant Jayasinhrao Vijayasinhrao Raje Bhonsle, also had issue by his morganatic wife, one son (not in the line of succession):

1) Shrimant Janmjai Jayasinhrao Bhonsle (s/o the morganatic wife). He contested the succession on the death of his father in 1965.

[1965] Shrimant Rani Sumitrabai Raje Bhonsle, Head of the Royal House of Akalkot, elder daughter of Meherban Shrimant Raja Jayasinhrao Vijayasinhrao Raje Bhonsle, Raja of Akalkot, by his first wife, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Rani Mrudula Raje Sahib Bhonsle. She assumed the title of Rani and the headship of the family, following the death of her father, but the GOI refused to recognise her as ruler or sanction her succession. unm. She has an adopted son:

1) Meherban Shrimant Majoji Raje Bhonsle. b. 1994, as Manaji Raje Bhonsle, son of Meherban Shrimant Jayajirao Bhonsle, of Kurla, by his wife, Shrimant Akhand Soubhagyavati Jayaprabha Bhonsle. Adopted by Rani Sumitrabai and assumed the name Majoji Raje Bhonsle, ca. 10^th January 2005.
