GENEALOGY
1867 - 1930 H.H. Amin
ud-Daula, Wazir ul-Mulk, Nawab Hafiz Sir Muhammad Ibrahim
'Ali Khan Sahib Bahadur, Saulat Jang, Nawab of Tonk, GCSI
(1.1.1913), GCIE (21.5.1890). b. at Tonk, 8th
November 1849, by his wife, a daughter of Sahibzada Ahmad
'Ali Khan Sahib Bahadur, educ. privately.
Succeeded on the deposition of his father, 14th
November 1867 (the state permanent salute being degraded
to 11-guns as punishment). Ascended the musnaid at
Tonk, 20th December 1867. Reigned under a
Council of Regency headed by his grand uncle, Sahibzada
Ibadu'llah Khan. Came of age and invested with full
ruling powers, 1870. He attended all three Delhi Darbars,
1877, 1903 and 1911. Granted a personal salute of
17-guns, 1st January 1877 (made permanent
1878). He enacted the first laws in Rajasthan for the
conservation of wildlife and the natural environment
through the Shikar Act of 1901. Rcvd: KIH (1877),
and Delhi Durbar gold medals (1903 & 1911). He
married 5 wives: 4 from Tonk and 1 from Rampur, niece of
Nawab Kalb-i-Ali Khan. m. (first) H.H. Nawab Ladli
Begum Sahiba (d. at Tonk, April 1907). m.
(second) H.H. Nawab Hajira Begum Sahiba. m.
(third) H.H. Nawab Maimuna [Memoona] Begum Sahiba (d.s.p.
at Tonk, after 1930). m. (fourth) H.H. Nawab Mulka
Jamil uz Zamani Begum Sahiba (d. after 1939), the
senior wife. m. (fifth) H.H. Nawab Amir uz-Zamani
Begum Sahiba (m. second, her stepson, H.H. Said
ud-Daula, Wazir ul-Mulk, Nawab Hafiz Sir Muhammad Sa'adat
'Ali Khan Sahib Bahadur, Saulat Jang, Nawab of Tonk - see
below). m. (sixth) H.H. Nawab Mubarak uz-Zamani
Begum Sahiba. He d. at Tonk, 23rd June
1930, having had issue, twenty-one sons and fifteen
daughters:

'Ali Khan Sahib Bahadur, Saulat Jang, Nawab of Tonk, GCIE
(1.1.1934). b. at the Nazar Bagh Palace, Tonk, 13th
February 1879, second son of H.H. Amin ud-Daula, Wazir
ul-Mulk, Nawab Hafiz Sir Muhammad Ibrahim 'Ali Khan Sahib
Bahadur, Saulat Jang, Nawab of Tonk, GCSI, GCIE, by his
first wife, H.H. Nawab Ladli Begum Sahiba, educ.
privately. Granted Mendwas as his jagir. Appointed
as Heir Apparent with the title of Wali Ahad Sahib,
following the death of his elder brother, 1927. Succeeded
on the death of his father, 23rd June 1930.
Ascended the musnaid, at the Nazar Bagh Palace,
Tonk, 24th June 1930. He extended public
representation to the municipalities, established the
Majlis-i-Amma Tonk with a majority of elected members,
and a state public service commission in 1939. Rcvd:
Delhi Durbar silver medal (1911), Silver Jubilee (1935),
and Coron. (1937) medals. m. (first) H.H. Nawab
Mulka Said uz-Zamani Begum Sahiba, daughter of his
paternal uncle, Azam ul-Umara, Viqar ul-Mulk, Sahibzada
Hafiz Muhammad Ishaq Khan Sahib Bahadur, Satwat Jang, of
Andoda. m. (second) H.H. Nawab Amina Begum Sahiba,
daughter of Mumtaz ul-Umara, Muazzam ul-Mulk, Sahibzada
Hafiz Muhammad Siddiq Khan Sahib Bahadur, Diler Jang, of
Gans. m. (third) H.H. Nawab Amir uz-Zamani Begum
Sahiba, widow of his father, H.H. Amin ud-Daula, Wazir
ul-Mulk, Nawab Hafiz Sir Muhammad Ibrahim 'Ali Khan Sahib
Bahadur, Saulat Jang, Nawab of Tonk, GCSI, GCIE. m.
(fourth) H.H. Nawab Firdaus uz-Zamani Begum Sahiba,
daughter of Sahibzada Muhammad Jamal Khan or sister of
Sahibzada Mahmud 'Ali Khan Sambhali. m. (fifth) a
daughter of Sahibzada Muhammad Jamal Khan or sister of
Sahibzada Mahmud 'Ali Khan Sambhali. He d. at the
Nazar Bagh Palace, Tonk, 31st May 1947, having
had issue, six natural sons (not in the line of
succession):

Zahir ul-Umara, Wazir ul-Mulk, Nawab Hafiz Muhammad
Ismail Ali Khan Sahib Bahadur, Hikmat Jang, Nawab of
Tonk. b. at the Nazar Bagh Palace, Tonk, 31st
January 1917, eighteenth son of H.H. Amin ud-Daula, Wazir
ul-Mulk, Nawab Hafiz Sir Muhammad Ibrahim 'Ali Khan Sahib
Bahadur, Saulat Jang, Nawab of Tonk, GCSI, GCIE, by his
fourth wife, Nawab Mulka Jamil uz-Zamani Begum Sahiba, educ.
Mayo Coll., Ajmer. Granted Bagri and Anwarpura in jagir
1924. Recognised by the Government of India as successor
to his late elder half-brother, 11th February
1948. Entered into a covenant with several of his fellow
rulers, merging his state into the new United State of
Rajasthan, 18th April 1948. Consented to a
further covenant creating the Greater Rajasthan Union on
30th March 1949, by which his state merged
with that union effective 6th April 1949. The
GOI amended the Indian Constitution to remove his
position as a "ruler" and his right to receive
privy-purse payments, 28th December 1971. Rcvd:
Coron. (1937), and Indian Independence (1947) medals. m.
at Tonk, 1948, H.H. Nawab Mulka Aziz uz-Zamani Begum
Sahiba, sister of Mirza Rafiu'llah Beg, a landlord in
Tonk. He d. at the Nazar Bagh Palace, Tonk, 21st
December 1974, having had issue, seven natural sons (not
