1652 - 1658 Maharaja Shri Ratan Singhji Sahib Bahadur, Raja of Ratlam, eldest son of Maharaja Shri Mahesh Dasji Sahib, of Jhalor. b. at Jhalor, 1629, educ. privately. Founded the city of Ratlam and established it as his capital in 1646. Entered the Mughal service and appointed to an Imperial mansab of 400 zat and 200 sowar under his father, prom. to 1,500 zat and 1,500 sowar 1647, prom. to 2,000 zat and 2,000 sowar 1649. Said to have received his jagirs for allegedly cutting short the destructive career of a rogue elephant, who had broken loose and run amok in the streets of the Imperial capital, whom he dispatched armed only with a dagger. Rendered conspicuous services against the Persians at Khorasan and the Uzbeks at Kandahar. Granted the parganas of Dharar, Badnawar, Dagparawa, Alot, Titrod, Kotri, Gadgucha, Agar, Nahargarh, Kanar, Bhilara and Ramgharia, valued at Rs. 53 lakhs. Also granted the insignia of chaur (yak's tail), morchal (peacock plumes), suraj mukhi (fans with a representation of the sun and moon), mahi-maratib (insignia of the fish), etc. m. twelve ranis (seven of whom committed sati in April 1658). He was k. in battle at the field of Ujjain, near Dharmatpur, 26th April 1658, having had issue eleven sons and several daughters by different mothers:

2) Rajkumar Shri Rai Singhji, of Kachhi Baroda. He had issue, a son:

(1) Thakur Shri Nahar Singh, Kachhi Baroda. He had issue, a son:
(a) Thakur Shri Zorawar Singh, Kachhi Baroda. He had issue, including two sons:
(i) Thakur Shri Sobal Singh, Kachhi Baroda. He d.s.p. 1857.
(ii) Thakur Shri Bhagwat Singh, Kachhi Baroda. Succeeded on the death of his elder brother, 1857. He d. 1864, having had issue, a son:
1. Thakur Shri Dalel Singhji Sahib, of Kachhi-Baroda. b. at Chhayan, 1839, educ. privately. Granted Chhayan in jagir. Succeeded on the death of his father to Kachhi-Baroda, 1864. He d. 1897, having had issue, two sons:
a. Thakur Shri Zalim Singh, Kachhi Baroda, educ. Daly Coll., Indore. He d. 13th June 1906, having had issue:
i. Maharaj Shri Bani Madho Singh, of Kachhi Baroda. b. 3rd October 1904, educ. Daly Coll., Indore. Raised to the hereditary title of Maharaj. m. 1924, Rani Brijraj Kumari Sahiba, of Gabhana, and had issue. He d. 1973, having had issue, two sons:
1a. Maharaj Shri Rameshwar Pratap Singh, of Kachhi Baroda. b. at Indore, 4th February 1926, educ. Daly Coll., Indore. A distinguished cricketer. m. at Agra, 13th December 1946, Rani Rukmani Kumari Sahiba. He had issue, two sons and one daughter:
1b. Kunwar Shri Tripureshwar Pratap Singh, educ. Daly Coll., Indore. m. at Baria, Kunwarani Dipti Kumari. He has issue, one son and one daughter:
1c. Bhanwar Tejvir Singh, educ. Daly Coll., Indore, and Hobart Coll., the Colleges of the Seneca, New York, USA (B. Econ.). Financial analyst in New York.
1c. Rohini Kumari, educ. Mayo Coll., Ajmer and Mount Carmal Coll., Banglore.
2b. Another son, educ. Daly Coll., Indore. m. at Rawatpura, Uttar Pradesh. He has issue, one son and one daughter.
1b. A daughter. b. 1952. m. 1975, H.H. Rai-i-Rayan Mahimahendra Maharajadhiraj Maharawal Shri Suryaveer Bhupatipratap Sinhji Bahadur, Maharawal of Banswara (b. at Banswara, 23rd December 1936; k. in a motor crash at Prantiki, Himmatnagar dist., Gujarat, 5th August 2002), eldest son of H.H. Rai-i-Rayan Mahimahendra Maharajadhiraj Maharawal Shri Chandrabir Singhji Bahadur, Maharawal of Banswara, by his second wife, H.H. Maharani Ba Shri Sajjan Kunwarba Sahiba, eldest daughter of Major H.H. Shri Shaktimant Jhaladap Mahamandleshwar Maharana Shri Raj Sir Ghanisham Singhji Ajit Singhji Sahib, Maharana Raj Sahib of Dhrangadhra, GCIE, KCSI. She had issue, one son and one daughter - see India (Banswara).
