1928 – [1995] Colonel H.H. Farzand-i-Arjumand, Aqidat-Paiwand-i-Daulat-i-Inglishia, Barar Bans Sarmur, Raja-i-Rajagan, Maharaja Shri Sir Pratap Singh Malvendra Bahadur, Maharaja of Nabha, KCSI (1.1.1946). b. at the Nabha Palace, Mussoorie, 21st September 1919, eldest surviving son of H.H. Farzand-i-Arjumand, Aqidat-Paiwand-i-Daulat-i-Inglishia, Barar Bans Sarmur, Raja-i-Rajagan, Maharaja Shri Ripudaman Singh Malvendra Bahadur, Maharaja of Nabha, by his second wife, H.H. Maharani Sarojan Devi Sahiba, educ. Woodstock Sch, Landour, near Mussoorie, Badingham Coll, Fetcham Park, near Leatherhead, and RMA Sandhurst, Camberley, Surrey. Proclaimed as Heir Apparent with the title of Tikka Sahib Bahadur, at his birth, 21st September 1919. Succeeded on the permanent deposition of his father, 2nd February 1928. Installed on the gadi, at the Fort, Nabha, 23rd February 1928. Reigned under a Council of Regency until he came of age and was invested with full ruling powers, at the State Palace, Nabha, 5th March 1941. Cmsnd as Hon Lieut, IA4/7/1941, served in WW2 1941-1944, prom Hon Capt 1/1/1944, Hon Lt-Col 15/8/1945, and Hon Col 15/10/1946, Col The Sikh Regiment, IA 18/1/1951, Hon Army ADC to the Presdt of India 23/1/1956-15/5/1957. Signed the Instrument of accession to the Dominion of India, 15th August 1947. Signed the covenant with his fellow rulers forming the Patiala and East Punjab States Union on 5th May 1948, and merged his state into PEPSU effective 20th August 1948 (ceasing to be sovereign from that date). The GOI amended the Indian Constitution to remove his position as a “ruler” and his right to receive privy-purse payments, 28th December 1971. Dholpurwala Maharani Shri Urmila Devi Sahiba (b. at the Raj Niwas Palace, Dholpur, 5th May 1924; d. 1997), only daughter of Colonel H.H. Rais ud-Daula, Sipahdar ul-Mulk, Saramad Rajha-i-Hind, Maharajadhiraja Shri Sawai Maharaj Rana Sir Udai Bhan Singh, Lokendra Bahadur, Diler Jang Jai Deo, Maharaj Rana of Dholpur, GCIE, KCSI, KCVO, by his first wife, H.H. Sri Badrukhanwala Maharani Malvender Kaur Sahiba, daughter of Sardar Shamsher Singh, of Badrukhan, in Jind state. He d. at New Delhi, 22nd July 1995 (crem. at Haridwar), having had issue, three sons and one daughter:
