1606 - 1615 H.M. The Most High King Luarsab II, by the will of our Lord, King of Kings of the Abkhazis, Kartvelians, Ranians, Kakhetians and the Armenians, Shirvanshah and Shahanshah and Master of all the East and West, King of Kartli. b. 1595, eldest son of H.M. The Most High King Giorgi X, King of Kartli, by his wife, H.M. The Most High Queen Mariami, daughter of The Most Excellent Prince Giorgi Dadiani, Prince of Salipartiano, of Mingrelia, educ. privately. Succeeded on the death of his father, 7^th September 1605. Confirmed and installed by Shah Abbas I in person at Tiflis, 1606. Fled to Imereti when Abbas I led a large army into the Caucasus to punish the Georgians, for attempting unity in 1613. Deposed by Shah Abbas I 1615, and sent as a prisoner to Astarabad, 1619. Refusing to convert to Islam, he was incarcerated in the fortress at Shiraz. m. (first) 1610 (div.), H.M. The Most High Queen Makrina, daughter of Prince Kiok Saakadze, Governor of Tiflis. m. (second) a daughter of the Mtavar of Mingrelia (sic). He was k. (strangled with a bow string, drowned, or both) at the Fortress of Shiraz, 21^st June 1622.

1615 - 1619 H.M. The Most High King Bagrat VII, by the will of our Lord, King of Kings of the Abkhazis, Kartvelians, Ranians, Kakhetians and the Armenians, Shirvanshah and Shahanshah and Master of all the East and West, Khan of Kartli, eldest son of H.M. The Most High King Davit XI, King of Kvemo Kartli, by his wife, a Princess of Taku. Succeeded on the deposition of his cousin, 1615. m. H.M. The Most High Queen Ana, second daughter of H.M. The Most High King Aleksandri II, King of Kakheti, by his wife, H.M. The Most High Queen Tinatina, daughter of Prince Bardzim Zedginidze-Amilakhvari. He was d. 1619, having had issue, a son and a daughter:

1) H.M. Svimeon II [Semayun Khan], Khan of Kartli - see below.
1) H.H. The Most Brilliant Princess Fakhr-i-Jahan Begum. m. June/July 1597, as his fourth wife, H.M. Zillu'llah 'Abu'l Muzaffar Shah 'Abbas al-Safavi al-Husaini al-Musavi Bahadur Khan [Shah Abbas the Great], Shahanshah of Persia (b. at Herat, 27^th January 1571; d. at Ashraf, 21^st January 1629), third son of H.M. Zillu'llah 'Abu'l Muzaffar Muhammad Khuda Banda Shah, Shahanshah of Persia, by his second wife, Nawab-i-Sipihr Istibah Bilqis uz-Zamani Khair un-nisa Begum [H.M. the Mahd-i-Aliya], daughter of Mir 'Abdu'llah Khan II Mar'asi, Governor of Mazandaran - see Persia (Safawi).

1619 - 1625 H.M. The Most High King Svimeon II [Semayun Khan], by the will of our Lord, King of Kings of the Abkhazis, Kartvelians, Ranians, Kakhetians and the Armenians, Shirvanshah and Shahanshah and Master of all the East and West, King of Kartli. b. and educ. in Isfahan, Fars, Persia, only son of H.M. The Most High King Bagrat VII, King of Kartli, by his wife, H.M. The Most High Queen Ana, second daughter of H.M. The Most High King Aleksandri II, King of Kakheti. Appointed as Vali of Kartli with the title of Semayun Khan, after the death of his father, by Shah Abbas I, 1619. Unpopular with his Christian subjects, his ‘khanate’ never stretched beyond Somkheti and Sabaratiano, and the capital, Tiflis. Deposed by King Taimurazi of Kakheti after the Giorgi Saakadze annihilated the Qizilbash forces at Martqopi 25^th March 1625. m. at Tiflis, Kartli, 1626, H.M. Queen Jahan Banu Begum (b. at Isfahan, Fars, Persia, 1605; d. there in her sleep, 1663), daughter of General Nawab ‘Isa Khan al-Safawi al-Musavi al-Husaini Qurrat ul-‘Ayn, sometime Cdr of the Imperial Bodyguard (Qurchibashi) and C-in-C of the Persian Army in Georgia, by his wife, H.H. Princess Fatima Sultan Begum [Zubaida Begum], daughter of H.M. Zillu’llah Amir al-Mu’minin Haider al-Sultan bin Sultan Abu’l Muzaffar ‘Abbas al-Husaini al-Musavi al-Safawi Bahadur Khan [Shah Abbas the Great], Shahanshah of Persia. He was k. by Zurabi Sidamoni, Duke of Aragvi, at Tshvilosi, before 29^th January 1629, having had issue, a daughter:

1) H.H. The Most Brilliant Princess Sultan ‘Izz-i-Sharif Begum (d/o Jahan Banu Begum). m. 1651, Mirza Sayyid ‘Abdu’llah al-Husaini al-Marashi (b. 1632), son of Mirza Sayyid Muhammad Shafi bin Mirza Sayyid Rahmatu’llah bin Mirza Sayyid Abu’l Hasan bin Mirza Sayyid Qawam ud-din bin Amir ‘Abdu’l Qadir al-Husaini al-Marashi. She had issue, one son and three daughters - see Persia (Safawi).

1625 – 1632 united with Kakheti.

1632 – 1657 H.M. The Most High King Rustami [Rustam Shah], by the will of our Lord, King of Kings, Reuniter of the Crowns of Kartli and Kakheti, Master of Somkheti and the Lore up to the Arax, Master, Possessor and Sovereign of the Abkhazis, Kartvelians, Ranians, Kakhetians and the Armenians, Shirvanshah and Shahanshah, the limits and regions of all the East and North, King of Kartli and Kakheti. b. 1567, as Kai-Khushru Mirza, natural son of H.M. Davit VIIII [Daud-Khan], King of Kvemo Kartli, by a concubine, educ. privately. Appointed as Darogha of Isfahan 1620, Qollar-agasi (Cdr of the Imperial Corps of Pages) 1629, granted the personal title of Rustam Khan for his success in defeating the Grand Vizier Khusru Pasha near Hamadan, Divanbegi (Presdt of the Council) of Isfahan 1630. Appointed as Vali (Governor) and Sepahsalar (C-in-C) of a large army sent to take control of Kartli by Shah Safi I, 1632. Crowned at Cathedral of Anchis-Khat, Tiflis, Kartli, 1634. Invaded Kakheti, put King Taimurazi to flight, and took control of that kingdom, 1648. Restored the Cathedral of the Living Pillar at Mtskheta. m. (first) (probably) Tinatina, daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Manuchihr II Jageli, Atabegi of Samtzkhé, by his wife, H.H. The Most Brilliant Princess Eleni, younger daughter of H.M. Svimeon I [Shah Nawaz Mahmud Khan], King of Kartli. m. (second) 1635 (Christian and Muslim rites), H.M. The Most High Queen Kethevan [Guldukhtar Begum] (d. at Tiflis, Kartli, 1636), daughter of Prince Gorjasp Abashidze. m. (third) at Tiflis, Kartli, 1638, H.M. Queen Mariami (m. third, at Tiflis, Kartli, 4^th January 1659, H.M. The Most High King Vakhtang V [Shah Nawaz Khan I], King of Kartli, and d. at Tiflis, Kartli, 1680, bur. Cathedral of the Living Pillar, Mtskheta), former wife of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Svimeon Gurieli, Duke of the Guria, and daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Manuchir I Dadiani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia, by his second wife, Her Splendour The Pious Princess of High Rank Thamar, younger daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Kaikhushru II Jageli, Atabegi of Samtzkhé. He d.s.p. at Tiflis, Kartli, 17^th November 1657 (bur. Qum, Persia), having adopted two sons in succession:

1) H.H. The Most Brilliant Prince Luarsabi, grandson of King Simon I - see above.
2) His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Vakhtang, 6^th Prince of Mukhrani, who succeeded as H.M. Vakhtang V [Shah Nawaz Khan II], King of Kartli - see below.

1657 - 1676 H.M. The Most High King Vakhtang V [Shah Nawaz Khan II], by the will of our Lord, King of Kings, Master, Possessor and Sovereign of the Abkhazis, Kartvelians, Ranians, Kakhetians and the Armenians, Shirvanshah and Shahanshah, and the limits and regions of all the East and North, King of Kartli, eldest son of General His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Prince Bagrat II, 3^rd Prince of Mukhrani and Regent of Georgia, by his wife, a daughter of General His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Sidamoni, Duke of Aragvi. Granted the title of Bakhta Beg by the Shah of Persia. Succeeded his cousin as 6^th Mukhrani-batoni under the reign name of Vakhtang II, 1648. Adopted by King Rustami and Queen Mariami, and appointed as Heir Apparent in 1653. Confirmed as Heir Apparent and appointed as Janisin (Viceroy) of the Kingdom 1655. Succeeded as King of Kartli on the death of his adoptive father, 17^th November 1657. Invested with the title of Shah Nawaz Khan, a robe of honour and letter of recognition from the Shah of Persia, at Tiflis, Kartli, 1^st January 1659. Styled Beglarbegi (Governor-General) of Azerbaijan and Sepahsalar (C-in-C) of the Persian Armeis 1664. He left for Isfahan, June 1676. m. (first) (div.) H.M. The Most High Queen Rwadam (d. at Tiflis, Kartli, 17^th June 1678, bur. Mtzkheta Monastery), who became a nun under the name of Kethavan, eldest daughter of The Brilliant Prince Vakhtang-Orbel Qaplanishvili-Orbeliani, Judge of the High Court, by his wife, a princess of Aragvi, by whom he had issue, five sons and one daughter. m. (second) at Tiflis, Kartli, 1659, H.M. The Most High Queen Mariami (d. at Tiflis, Kartli, 1682), widow of his adopted father, H.M. The Most High King Rustam [Khushru Mirza], King of Kartli, and daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Manuchar I Dadiani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia, by his second wife, Her Splendour The Pious Princess of High Rank Thamar, younger daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Kaikhushru II Jageli, Atabegi of Samtzkhé. He d. at Khoscaro, Ganja, September 1676 (bur. Qum, Persia), having had issue, six sons and four daughters:

1) H.M. Archili [Shah Nazar Khan], King of Kakheti and Imereti (s/o Queen Rwadam) - see Georgia (Imereti).
2) H.H. The Most Brilliant Prince Giorgi [Gurgin Khan], who succeeded as H.M. Giorgi XI [Shah Nawaz Khan III], King of Kartli (s/o Queen Rwadam) - see below.
3) H.H. The Most Brilliant Prince Aleksandri [Iskandar Mirza]. Darogha (Prefect) of Isfahan 1667. m. Mehr-i-Sharf Begum, second daughter of Sayyid 'Abdu'llah al-Husaini al-Marashi, by his wife, H.H. The Most Brilliant Princess 'Izz-i-Sharaf, daughter of H.M. The Most High King Svimeon II, King of Kartli. He d. before 1699.
4) H.M. Levanti [Shah Quli Khan], King of Kartli (s/o Queen Rwadam) - see below.
5) H.H. The Most Brilliant Prince Luarsabi. b. after 26^th August 1660. m. (first) at Lilo, 1668, H.H. The Most Brilliant Princess Mariami, daughter of General His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Revaz Sidamoni, Duke of Aragvi. m. (second) ca. 1684, a daughter of General His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Koshita I Chkheidze, Duke of Radsha. He d. November 1698, having had issue, a natural son and a daughter:
- a) H.H. The Most Brilliant Prince Aleksandri [Iskandar Khan]. Entered the Persian service 1708, and rose to a high rank.
- a) H.H. The Most Brilliant Princess Eleni. m. 1690, The Noble Kaikhushru Iashvili, sometime Governor of Qwara.
5) H.H. The Most Brilliant Prince Solomoni [Sulaiman Mirza]. b. before 1671. m. H.H. The Most Brilliant Princess Thamar, daughter of Prince Shalva Kvenipneveli-Sidamoni, of Ksani, by hid wife, Princess Kethavan, daughter of General His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Nugzar Sidamoni, Duke of Aragvi. He d. 16^th March 1703.
1) A daughter. m. 1655, General His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Zurab II Sidamoni, Duke of Aragvi (d. at Kerman, 1692), eldest son of General His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Zaal I Sidamoni, Duke of Aragvi, by his wife, a daughter of Prince Chkheidze. She had issue, one son.
2) H.H. The Most Brilliant Princess Anouka [Anusa] (d/o Queen Rwadam). m. (first) at Isfahan, 1660, H.M. H.M. Zillu'llah 'Abu'l Muzaffar Shah Abbas II, Sahib-i-Qiran, Shahanshah of Persia (b. at Isfahan or Qazvin, 17^th January 1633; d. ar Khusravabad, Damghan, 26^th October 1666), second son of H.M. H.M. Zillu'llah 'Abu'l Muzafar Shah Safi I, Shahanshah of Persia, by his Georgian wife, Ana Khanum - see Persia (Safawi). m. (second) 1668 (div. 1695), Shah Verdi Khan of Luristan. She d. 1697.
3) H.H. The Most Brilliant Princess Thamar. Became a nun in widowhood under the name of Gayane. m. 1686 (or 1661), General His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Guivi Zedginidze, Prince of Samilakhoro (d. 1696), Amir-Akhori and Lord High Treasurer, third son of General His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Yotham Zedginidze, Prince of Samilakhoro, Amir-Akhori and Lord High Treasurer. She d. 1694 (bur. Church of the Assumption, Chiomgwimi), having had issue, three sons.
4) A daughter. m. H.M. Zillu'llah 'Abu'l Muzaffar Sultan Husain Shah, Shahanshah of Persia (b. ca. 1668; k. at Isfahan on the orders of Ashraf Shah, ca. November 1726), eldest son of H.M. Zillu'llah 'Abu'l Muzaffar Shah Sulaiman Safi II, Shahanshah of Persia - see Persia (Safawi).
