GENEALOGY
1632 – 1657 H.M. The Most High King Rustami [Rustam Shah], by the will of our Lord, King of Kings, Reuniter of the Crowns of Kartli and Kakheti, Master of Somkheti and the Lore up to the Arax, Master, Possessor and Sovereign of the Abkhazis, Kartvelians, Ranians, Kakhetians and the Armenians, Shirvanshah and Shahanshah, the limits and regions of all the East and North, King of Kartli and Kakheti. b. 1567, as Kai-Khushru Mirza, natural son of H.M. Davit VIIII [Daud-Khan], King of Kvemo Kartli, by a concubine, educ. privately. Appointed as Darogha of Isfahan 1620, Qollar-agasi (Cdr of the Imperial Corps of Pages) 1629, granted the personal title of Rustam Khan for his success in defeating the Grand Vizier Khusru Pasha near Hamadan, Divanbegi (Presdt of the Council) of Isfahan 1630. Appointed as Vali (Governor) and Sepahsalar (C-in-C) of a large army sent to take control of Kartli by Shah Safi I, 1632. Crowned at Cathedral of Anchis-Khat, Tiflis, Kartli, 1634. Invaded Kakheti, put King Taimurazi to flight, and took control of that kingdom, 1648. Restored the Cathedral of the Living Pillar at Mtskheta. m. (first) (probably) Tinatina, daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Manuchihr II Jageli, Atabegi of Samtzkhé, by his wife, H.H. The Most Brilliant Princess Eleni, younger daughter of H.M. Svimeon I [Shah Nawaz Mahmud Khan], King of Kartli. m. (second) 1635 (Christian and Muslim rites), H.M. The Most High Queen Kethevan [Guldukhtar Begum] (d. at Tiflis, Kartli, 1636), daughter of Prince Gorjasp Abashidze. m. (third) at Tiflis, Kartli, 1638, H.M. Queen Mariami (m. third, at Tiflis, Kartli, 4th January 1659, H.M. The Most High King Vakhtang V [Shah Nawaz Khan I], King of Kartli, and d. at Tiflis, Kartli, 1680, bur. Cathedral of the Living Pillar, Mtskheta), former wife of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Svimeon Gurieli, Duke of the Guria, and daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Manuchir I Dadiani, Duke of Dukes of Mingrelia, by his second wife, Her Splendour The Pious Princess of High Rank Thamar, younger daughter of His Splendour The Pious Prince of High Rank Kaikhushru II Jageli, Atabegi of Samtzkhé.
