Paduka Sri Sultan Husain Kamal ud-din Malik al-Zahir ibni al-Marhum Sultan Haji Muhammad 'Ali [al-Marhum di Lubah], Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam, second son of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Haji Muhammad 'Ali ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Hassan, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam, educ. privately. Proclaimed on the death of his cousin, 1710. Abdicated in favour of his son-in-law, 1730. Resumed the throne on his death, 1737. A ruler supposedly endowed with supernatural powers. He d. at Luba, 1740, having had issue, ten sons and seven daughters:

1740 - 1795 H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Omar 'Ali Saif ud-din I ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Ala ud-din [al-Marhum Makam Besar], Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Brunei Dar us-Salam. b. before 1730, second son of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Muhammad 'Ala ud-din ibni Pangiran di-Gadong Pangiran Shah Mubbin, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam, by his first wife, Y.A.M. Pangiran Babu Sri Banum, daughter of Y.A.M. Paduka Sri Pangiran Bendahara Sri Maharaja Permaisuara Pangiran Untong, educ. privately. A great warrior, he invaded the Philippines and took Manila in 1769. Abdicated his administrative powers in favour of his eldest son, whom he appointed as deputy ruler 1780. Thereafter styled Yang di-Pertuan Besar until his death. m. (first) H.H. Paduka Sri Raja Istri Pangiran Anak Putri, second daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Husain Kamal ud-din Malik al-Zahir ibni al-Marhum Sultan Haji Muhammad 'Ali, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam. m. (second) H.H. Paduka Sri Raja Istri Pangiran Anak Nur Alam, younger daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Husain Kamal ud-din Malik al-Zahir ibni al-Marhum Sultan Haji Muhammad 'Ali, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam. m. (third) Y.A.M. Pangiran Istri Bongsu, widow of Y.A.M. Duli Pangiran Pemancha Sahib ul-Rai' wa ul-Mushuarat Pangiran Anak Kasim, and daughter of H.H. Paduka Sri Sultan Husain Kamal ud-din Malik al-Zahir ibni al-Marhum Sultan Haji Muhammad 'Ali, Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei Dar us-Salam. m. (fourth) Y.M. Wan Puteh. He d. at Brunei Town, 10th July 1795 (bur. at the Royal Mausoleum, Jalan Khutbah Makam di-Raja), having had issue, six sons and a daughter:
