Sardar Muhammad Sharif Khan. b. 1827, ninth son of H.H. Amiral-Mumenin, Amir-i-Kabir, Dost Muhammad Khan, Amir of Afghanistan, by his wife, Khadija Begum, daughter of Haji Rahmatu'llah Khan, of the Popalzai clan. Governor of Bamiyan 1842-1850, Tashkurgan 1850-1860, Farah 1860-1865, and Kandahar 1866-1867. m. (first) a daughter of his uncle, Sardar Mehr Dil Khan. m. (second) a Popalzai lady. m. (third) a second Popalzai lady). He d. at Baghdad, August 1883, having had issue, eight sons and two daughters:
1) Sardar Muhammad 'Umar Khan (s/o a Hazari slave). m. Khurshid Begum, daughter of Sardar 'Abdu'llah Khan, by his first wife, a daughter of Muhammad Umar Khan. He had issue:

c) Dr Muhammad Humayun. m. Hanifa Begum, daughter of Sardar Nur Muhammad Khan, by his wife, Sabira Begum, daughter of Sardar Muhammad Asif Khan Telai. He had issue, two daughters:
b) Hamdam Begum. m. 'Abdu'l Hamid Khan, son of Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, by his Safi wife. She had issue, two sons and two daughters - see below.

2) H.E. Sardar Muhammad Hashim Khan (s/o Mehr Dil Khan's daughter). Governor of Kandahar 1878-1879. Went into exile with Sardar Muhammad Ayub Khan in Persia 1881-1887, Rawalpindi 1888, Karachi, and Kashmir in 1907. m. Hajira Begum, daughter of H.H. Amiral-Mumenin Sher 'Ali Khan, Amir of Afghanistan, by his wife, Aisha Begum. He had issue, one son and one daughter:

(first) Halima Begum [Shah Bobo], daughter of his paternal uncle, Sardar Muhammad Yusuf Khan, by his wife, Koko Jan, daughter of H.H. Amiral-Mumenin Muhammad Yaqub Khan, Amir of Afghanistan. m. (second) Sabira Begum, second daughter of Sardar Muhammad Rafiq Khan, sometime Lord Chamberlain and Presdt Shirkat-i-Rafiq, by his first wife, Humaira Begum, daughter of Sardar 'Abdu'r Rahman Khan, of Herat. i) Adham Khan Effendi (s/o Halima). He d. young, during his teenage years.

Author of "How to End All Wars Forever", "Hard Facts of History", and "Economics for the Confused". m. 1964, Tasveer Baha Begum [Bibi Jan], daughter of Malik Ranazai, from the Yusufzai tribe of Bunair, NWFP of Pakistan. He d. at Islamabad, Pakistan, 20th February 2006 (bur. there at Qul Islamic Cemetery), having had issue, an only son:

a) Mahbuba Begum [Shahbanu]. m. as his first woiife, Sardar Muhammad 'Abdu'l Qadir Khan, sometime Effendi of Lahore, eldest son of H.H. Amiral-Mumenin Muhammad Ayub Khan, Amir of Herat, by his first wife, Kishwar Begum, daughter of Sardar Muhammad Aslam Khan. She had issue, two sons and one daughter - see Afghanistan (Herat).
3) Sardar Muhammad Kasim Khan (s/o Mehr Dil Khan's daughter). He d.s.p. before 1880.

b) Sardar Sher Ahmad Khan. b. 1911. Photographer, Survey of India 1927-1930. m. a Safi lady.
c) Sardar Ghulam Muhammad Khan. m. Sabira Sultan Begum, daughter of H.E. Sardar Muhammad Muhsin Khan, sometime Governor of Kandahar, by his third wife. He had issue, three sons and one daughter:
i) Muhammad Nasir Khan. b. 1925.
